Return of the orchestra?

A number of fans began a campaign on social networking site Facebook to return the orchestra to the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, for the first time since 1998, with close to 4,000 people joining. The orchestra, used from the first contest in 1956, was dropped after the 1998 contest due to rapid developments in music technology, which made backing tracks much more useful. The debate on whether to return the orchestra to the contest has raged since, with no such change in the mind-set of the EBU.

Jan Fredrik Heyerdahl of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra has said that they would be interested in participating in the contest next year, given that the EBU and NRK agree. However a number of challenges may face their attempt, such as the fact that the number of participating entries has more than doubled since the last time an orchestra was seen on the Eurovision stage, with more than 40 entries now competing every year.

What the hell are you lot on about?

Lol :P

We're just kidding :P

The best way to get from UK to Norway is by plane to either Torp Airport, Sandefjord or Gardemoen Airport, Oslo.

Torp is cheaper but then you have to take train/bus to Oslo, if you don't wanna sleep in my bed :P I live in Sandefjord ;) come and visit me :naughty:

Anyway.. there is many nice hotels in Oslo. The easiest way to get to Telenor Arena is by Bus or Train, if you rent a car it's very easy to drive there :) Taxi is alsow a possibility :D
