Having listened to it three times I can say this shows Alexandra Burke what a lead single to an album should sound like.

If I had to describe it to a music loving anorak who has yet to hear it, it sounds like Ian Brown trying to rewrite/recreate Michael Jackson 2000 Watts.

That is a very positive compliment. Love the peerless production (Trevor Horn = no surprise) especially towards the end. 9.5/10.

Does anyone think the release date is far too far away? If this song was made available for legal download from Monday next week it would do fantastically well in the charts. But by 4 weeks most folk will either be fed up with it (being played to death on radio) or will already have illegally downloaded it. I don't see the point in songs being on the radio more than a month before you can actually buy them. The hype for this song peaks today. Not 4 weeks from today.

-_-

I agree Jups. If he went out on loads of TV shows the week after next (the vid needs to be on TV first) and promoted it very heavily then released it, it would go to #1 I am sure but over a month to wait is just silly tbh. It used to be 2 weeks if i recall

I agree. If Robbie Williams want to sign back with a UK#1 hit single he can't afford to wait to release the single on the same day as Alexandra Burke. Especially as Alexandra Burke will have Simon Cowell's Max Clifford co-ordinated PR machine in full swing and enough X-Factor brain dead zombies will buy that rather pedestrian generic track with a catchy Eurovision style chorus ahead of a piece of superior quality classic pop by Robbie.

Just heard Bodies on the radio here in Ireland, sounded superb. The DJ said he was not sure and read out some texts from people either saying it sounded really good and Ian Brown like, others saying they wanted the old Robbie singing Angels. I am still a tad suprised he didnt release something more like his old material as the first single. Obviously he isnt that desperate for a huge hit because this is electro pop as oppose to rock/pop. It's kind of a mix between the Rudebox style and the old Robbie.

Agreed. Unless the single goes to #1 the media will proclaim it a flop, so I really really do not see the logic to it all. I thought EMI were losing a fortune. Surely they hired people who know what they are doing at this stage. I mean honestly. I so hope his management make them bring the release forward.

Here's the X Factor one. It does sound like a Eurovision entry. Not my cup of tea but I can see that it will sell loads (in primary schools anyway  ). Flo RIDA

Fast forward to 5.20 for the song.

Which radio station was it played on here Scotty

Grami! You hate Robbie! :o :o :o

I agree with you about the Media. Shoddy journalism really irritates me.

I don't hate him at all :P

He's one of those artists that I just don't think deserves all the hype and sales but he has still made some very good songs. [OK this is the first I've liked since 'Come Undone' but meh.].

I've been listening to it a few times now and let's just say I'm hoping for a good b-side ^_^

Robbies b sides are normally very good

with the exception of some  Lonestar Rising

Yes, of course we all are!

Mind you ... he did seem a bit crestfallen ... after he'd said 'sure, I'd really like to do something with them' Chris went on to say when asked the same question Gary Barlow was 'non-committal'  I could almost visualise him being embarrassed. He made it even worse when he said 'well I'm not joining Take That then'! Silly sod!

All in all ... as far as the record goes ... I'd say ... as average as Alexandra's song is ... she hasn't got much to worry about!

Oh, I hope. :drama:

I'll never understand why the haters waste our time and good sight and tire their little precious typing fingers =) I'm all for having a mind of your own but say what you feel you need to say about the track and the album and get lost :cheer:
