Anastacia begins work on 5th Album

US singing sensation Anastacia has begun work on her 5th studio album since Heavy Rotation, due to be released next year. 'Heavy Rotation' recieved a mixed reception from critics, but was a commercial failure within the charts, being her first album ever to do so (to date, it has sold 330,000 copies worldwide).

But her 5th album is sure to repay homage to the multi-platinum 'Anastacia' album, released in 2004. In a recent interview she stated, "In doing the fourth album, I didn't quite know that I wanted to do rock, because I thought maybe it would remind my fans of my cancer. I got worried of bringing them back to a time that was so sad, so I didn't really put too much rock in this last album (Heavy Rotation), that's not really what my choice would be from the future".

As well as not being a hit with the critics, it was also poorly received by many of her fans. "From what I hear", she continues, "they're (the fans) like, 'we want it again!" and I'm like, "Okay! So for sure sure, I'll give them more rock!" she smiles.

At this moment, singer Anastacia is currently on tour, doing live shows round Europe & Asia in aid of 'Heavy Rotation'. During Romania, she opened the show with a more edgy rendition of the Mark Ronson-esque 'The Way I See It', prehaps hinting at the start of a return back to her 2004-album sound. Interestingly, there have been few reports on the situation between her and her new record label, Mercury [universal]. In a German interview she stated, "I've got the feeling that my record label chose the wrong songs, they don't represent the record and they are nothing like what my fans expect from me."

The end of 2009 sees an Anastacia, slowly reinventing herself back to her old image, the hair is grown back, the toned stomach is out, the glasses are on. Hopefully, the music will make it's way back to as we make our way into 2010.

Okay, bit of a mistake.

In actual fact, during August/September she will start thinking about the album, it's songs, choosing which type of album she wants to do (which is blatantly going to be a return to sprock due to that last interview she did). She said when writing songs you can be easily under pressure, and so that she wants to do everything in a proper way, and that she isn't in a hurry.

So basically, everything completely different to the HR project.

which interview is this ?
March 2010 I'm down with that! I want this cd to be released here, canada, south america, australia and asia as well as Europe.

This is very good news. Everything about the HR should be swept under the carpet. She hit her niche with the sprock, it was madness for her to go back to the cheesy pop.

it wasnt even cheesy pop, it was "r&b"

but i dont believe for a second she will do a 2nd one.

if she is smart the sprock will be back, soooooooooon.

She IS smart, because she wanted sprock anyway, Universal wanted her to do RnB because they didn't like sprock.

seriously, they should have looked at her previous succes with the Anastacia album. why on earth change a winning formula ?

so is she going to switch labels now?

dunno, i hope so. or maybe they let her make a sprock album now.
