Blergh, I know blood is expected in this show but I had to look away when Klaus was using the knife and torturing that other guy.

Other than that I enjoyed the premiere. Liking the bromance between Matt & Jeremy, but I hope they start using the visions for a lot more (like, actually talking to him) as just appearing every now and then isn't as interesting as it could be.

Just watched the first episode, bit of a disappoint actually. It all seemed a bit bland with very little of consequence happening. :/

I hope it's just because it's the first episode and not a sign of things to come.

I agree the whole ghosts appearing and saying things like "Help me, Jeremy" is just painful to watch. Give us something better than that please. I find it pretty odd how she brought next to nothing to the series, but I'm still sad about Andy dying. Damon's going to have to look for a new clueless bimbo now.

Just a thought but

do you think Tyler might become a Vampire/Werewolf hybrid? Now that we know Klaus wants to make more hybrids and they need to already be werewolves for it to work

Course there's going to be more to the ghosts. I felt the whole episode was merely just a 'and here's what's happened over the summer recap' montage. Was OK but nothing special. I'm bored of the whole tortured Stefan thing already. I have always found the other characters more compelling. And Mrs Lockwood with her bow & arrow goodness :o
PRINCIPAL BUTTKISS. Or Mrs Lockwood to anyone that doesn't watch One Tree Hill. The episode was a bit... meh in most places but still quite good. I found it hard trying to remember who died last season and had to read a recap just to remind myself. I'm hoping that this season doesn't end up like the first two where the beginning is incredibly dull and I skip half a season until it gets good again. But I was quite surprised with the first episode. Andie's death and Caroline being struck down by Principal Buttkiss! Glad to see they are starting the twists now!
I hope Jenna comes back as a ghost. I don't want her to be gone forever :(

Watched the second episode of the season....I think I've noticed what it is I'm finding odd so far.

For one thing it's the complete absence of Katherine, Bonnie (a video chat doesn't count) and even some smaller characters like Sheriff Forbes that's been bugging me.

Also it seems like it's leading up most of the time and nothing that noteworthy is happening. This whole vague building an army thing with Klaus isn't really that interesting when I have no idea at all (not even an inkling) of what he plans to do.

The only thing I found particular interesting was when Anna said not to trust Vicki.

The second episode was ok. The 'ghosts' being against each other was probably my favourite part, that was interesting. Also Klaus failing to build an army, and Stefan still struggling to cope without talking to Elena.

Actually, this episode was probably better than I thought. I liked how Tyler's mum got onto their side when she saw that he was a werewolf, and I liked the twist at the end, really SHOCKED, jaw on the floor and everything. But for some reason I was still wanting a bit more. Appearances from Katherine & Bonnie would be nice.

Missed the ending <_< will have to catch up online later

Thought this week was an improvement. For a start, the return of Katherine :D Enjoyed the use of flashbacks & Rebecca. Jack Coleman makes a really good villian, and I was so hooked that the absence of Jeremy and his side story didn't matter.

From watching the promo, Bonnie returns in the flesh next week :D

You didn't miss a whole lot. Just Stephan picking up the locket in the bar and then you see Katherine getting into a taxi.

Where is Bonnie :( Grr @ her being too busy on her flop music career to be in VD full time.

I haven't even missed Bonnie. Last season she was just THERE. Like 'yay I'm going to do a handy spell now because I know magic.' I'm not sure if it's the actress or the writers but there doesn't seem to be any investment in the character and it says a lot when I don't even notice she's not appeared for 3 episodes in the flesh or such.

I am liking the show so far. It's not as amazing as previous seasons but I found Caroline's dad's psychological warfare a very interesting perspective! Also it seems we're starting to go somewhere with the Originals and Klaus now.

Bonnie will return in the next episode.

Rebekah seemed to gain a lot of support, but she didnt really capture me as a badass original - Katherine and Pearl did it much better. Speaking of which, really nice to see Katherine again, love her.

Gloria on the other hand, I'm intrigued. I'm hoping she's related to Bonnie, that girl needs support.

Klaus still bugs, but I can see him and Stefan as BFF's.

Elena and Damon - zzzzz. I really couldnt care less about them. They also act really stupid and their plans are idiotic. Caroline and Tyler are my couple of the moment.

I couldn't believe it when Damon left Elena alone there when he himself said that they (Klaus & Stefan) would be coming their on the tour. That's just asking for trouble.

nooo they killed off Gloria :( She was such a badass witch!

<3 Katherine as per usual, still the most fun character. I did enjoy Caroline a lot too, I really liked her fight with Damon.

Klaus is still a bore.

  • 3 weeks later...

It was probably because I prefer Jeremy & Anna a million times more than Jeremy & Bonnie...

but I really didn't like Caroline, Bonnie or Elena that much in this episode. I thought they were a teensy bit inconsiderate. Anna died, it wasn't like they broke it off naturally. I wasn't surprised Jeremy acted the way he did.

I feel this pretty much confirms when it comes to Bonnie, Jeremy is settling for second best.

Is it painfully obvious that I just don't like Bonnie?

I liked the lack of Klaus in this episode. The writers really know how to keep the show fast-paced and interesting. I also loved Lexi, she's great!

Yeah I like Lexi too, she died way too soon.

You know, for the most part I like the dead characters more than I do the living ones. (bar maybe Caroline and Jeremy)

Me too actually! I like Anna more than Bonnie and maybe Vicky too. I still don't like Jeremy though (actually I think it's the actor that lacks in talent), although this season he's a bit more likable.
