This show is absolutley amazing, I've watched the first 10 eps now and it gets better and better! quite possibly in my top shows ever already!

Episode review later, but WTF? 6 week hiatus, just after we had a huge one, is p***ing me off. F*** you Olympics!

Loved this episode but :( for Grams. She was so badass! But at least we get to see Pearl back, I hope her and Anna are recurring characters, I find them more sympathetic than Damon. Elena/Damon have great chemistry, but I think the triangle thing is a bit rushed considering how Damon has acted...

The tomb scene with Elena in the dark was super CREEPY too. I knew the biatch Katherine wasn't in the tomb, but who was that guy who escaped at the end? Someone told me he was probably a slave at the time who happened to be a witch which is why he managed to get out, and now we have a witch/vampire character, should be interesting. Poor Bonnie though, she really can't get a break atm :(

I finally caught up and episode 14 was brilliant as always, I'm just pissed ive got to wait 6 weeks now after catching up!

im not going to read pages 4 and 5 as im still playing catch up (im on episode 9) :D. I really enjoyed the first episode although did feel that things are mapped out and its so obvious in nearly all occasions whats going to happen. For example how Lexi was going to be killed off, obvious from the second Damon asked the woman to organise the party... Having said that its a very attractive cast and the story line just hangs together enough. I feel there needs to be more overlapping characters, they could have used Lexi much more and integrated her for even perhaps 2 more episodes.

 

Havent seen Twilight but what else can the cast play with? There is only so far you can take a vampire plot where anyone who turns is unable to go out in the day!

I didn't mind that Lexi was killed off, but you're right it is an obvious plot line. Though there have been a few surprises. It starts to get more interesting from where you're up to.

Episode 15 rocked :D I just love the pacing on this show, so much is going on.

 

First of all, yay at Pearl and Anna still being around, I wonder what Pearl is cooking up? She seems to be gathering vamps, maybe to bring the Gilberts down? Oh and that Harper vamp is a hottie, he seemed super polite too. I wonder who the other black chick was? Vamp, witch? Who knows. Pearl definitely was compelling the housekeeper to keep all the vamps inside her home, and inviting new ones (Harper) in. I noticed Harper had the daylight ring too, I guess Emily was a busy witch at the time, but it makes sense since they were a close coven.

 

Damon screwing with Alaric was just cruel, I think he was projecting his own frustrations about Katherine onto him. I was shocked when he killed him and even more shocked when he came back to life :o That ring is really special, which means Isobel had to know a lot about magic and stuff.

 

Speaking of Isobel, so we know she's Elena's birth mother who wanted to be turned into a vampire. Why is that? And also now she doesn't care about Elena? And was Trudie and that other guy under Isobel's orders? And why did Trudie give Elena vervain if she knew already she wasn't a vampire, or should I say why would Isobel want that?

 

Isobel compelled the other guy to kill himself, woah. That probably makes her evil, but she did give Alaric the ring, so it's rather confusing. And is Isobel related to Katherine? Are they working together or not? Was Katherine the one who sent Isobel to Damon? Who is Elena's biological father then? So many questions.

 

Stefan and Elena were great tonight, as were the scenes between Elena/Damon/Stefan. The triangle will probably be postponed now that Elena knows Damon killed Isobel, all the progress Damon made with her has now been shattered apparently. I did like how he went from being snarky to almost apologetic when he found out that Isobel was Elena's mom, he definitely cares about how she reacts.

 

Matt's mom is one selfish biatch, but the actress played her super well. Poor Caroline though, she keeps getting stepped on this show, I hope she starts standing up for herself. Matt looked really sad with the mom issues, he has to take care of everyone it seems. I can see where Vicki got her damaged genes from

 

Jenna did good tonight, she acted like a proper guardian this time by doing the search on Elena's mom, and being honest to her and Alaric. I was sorry for her when Alaric ditched her like that during the Bachelor thing, but I guess after what Damon said to him it's understandable.

 

I did miss Bonnie though, I guess she's staying with other relatives for the time being. Hopefully her and Jeremy are back next week. Just amazing show really! I like how things aren't dragged throughout entire seasons, things are solved quickly but new questions come up to keep things interesting.

Oh great ep. I loved the ending with Pearl she seems great and I can't wait to see what she's got planned.

 

Thought Alaric was dead for sure till the ring brought him back which was a little strange. Which is good cause I like him.

 

The whole Isabel thing was wow.

Loved Pearl vs Damon, damn she is old and badass. The way she handled Damon and threatened him really made me wet my pants :heehee:

Anna seems like a really cool "girl", but poor her, being over a century old and having a curfew :lol: But it was nice to see the mother/daughter relantionship between her and Pearl.

The double date was weird, and while I can see why Matt and Elena would reminisce, and Stefan the old soul who's mature rather than jealous understood why they were remembering old times, poor Caroline really can't get a break. First Matt's mom, then Matt who still likes Elena, then Elena who prefers Bonnie, I guess I can see why she'd be down. Stefan really showed another side of him: "what a dick!" made me chuckle :heehee:

Lol at Damon almost vamping Matt's mom, and poor Matt having to handle his mom like a teenage kid, really like how he set her straight in the end.

Jeremy wants to be turned? Oh dear. Is it because he thinks he can find Vicki if he turns? Who knows. I dont think Anna will turn him, she seems to really like him, although being a Gilbert i'm sure Pearl will NOT approve.
