August 12, 200915 yr yeah, I know, still think you'll get a good view The stage isn't going to be right at the back of the field, it's near the middle
August 12, 200915 yr I hope we all get a reasonable view For me, just being there is gonna be something, I'm really looking forward to seeing them my first U2 concert
August 12, 200915 yr Well you've seen them live before, haven't you? :P I don't really have anything new to say about the concert. I wasn't feeling well that day so I couldn't really enjoy the concert as I wanted to but it was a true spectacle! I've already told Mil, Bono did a similar thing with the flashes of cameras and phone lights like Robbie, and since this was my first BIG concert, it was very special to me to see those lights  My friend and I had seats on the west side of the stadium (1000kn) so we could see the whole picture. When you're down with the crowd on the grass, you can't really see anything :P Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb We had the 500kn tickets (pitch) but my friend won 1000kn tickets so we gave away (sold actually   )our first tickets and went with the "expensive" ones... which I will definitely never do again. It's sooooo much better to be down with the crowd and see the band up close than be up in the 27th row with the 40 and 50+ year-olds where you can't jump or anything and you listen to the band but you see them on the video wall which is.... blah :( However, as I said, I wasn't feeling well that day so I was more than grateful to have a place to sit and to put my bottle of water :D Behind us were the VIPs  with their champagne and wine and.... :puke2:  I've read in the newspaper that Bono was a bit reserved in Zagreb... that he didn't have much contact with the crowd... and that the band was probably confused about what to play to the Croatian public
August 12, 200915 yr Author Oh :( That's too bad you were sick. I'm really torn between standing and sitting too. I do enjoy bouncing about on the pitch and there is definitely a better atmosphere down there. But sometimes I just want somewhere to plank my bum. Although at my last Robbie concert everyone in the seats stood all the way through anyway which kind of defeated the purpose. Did you like Snow Patrol?
August 12, 200915 yr I had a feeling Bono's voice was a bit worn out from the August 9th concert but as always, if the singer's not at his best, the crowd is there to help :D Don't worry though. He will be just fine on Friday and Tuesday :D After all, you know them better than I do lol The concert finished at 11.30pm the first night, I believe.... and the second (which is really the first!!!!!!!!) finished 15 or 20 minutes earlier <_< but nevermind :P Apparently we surprised them with the balloons :D We had them in the colors of the Irish flag

(I'm that nice  ) The atmosphere is DEFINITELY better down on the pitch. That's why I say, I will never ever settle down for anything less than the pitch. Even when you don't know all the songs and all the lyrics, it is better down there  because seeing them on the screen I could have done at home as well :P -_- Snow Patrol were fantastic  I absolutely adore them. They played 5 or 6 songs (Chasing Cars, Run, You're All I Have, Chocolate, Crack the Shutters, Take Back the City...) Gary was much more in touch with the crowd than Bono but I guess it's that spiritual something you get when you're at a U2 concert.... but Snow Patrolers are still young ;)
August 12, 200915 yr From that seating plan you were really close to the stage Jasna :o row 27. seat 118. Will upload a pic for you to see how close to or far from the stage I was  Sjever Jug Istok Zapad ^_^ hahahahaha good girl! and you know which one's which? without looking at my seating plan? :P
August 12, 200915 yr Author When you stood up the 20 rows behind you wouldn't have seen a thing :( You do feel a bit detached from everything in the seats I think. But at my age I like my comforts :P
August 12, 200915 yr Author row 27. seat 118. hahahahaha good girl! and you know which one's which? without looking at my seating plan? :P Oh. Well, I assume Istok is East. But as for the others.

But at my age I like my comforts :P hahahahaha that's the point! there was only one row behind me and 4 or 5 rows of the VIPs  and they can see perfectly if they stand up :smoke: Normally I hate the crowd... I don't even like to go to the town in the summer because I know I'll have to elbow my way through rivers of people and instead of a 10minutes walk, it will be a 30 or 40 minutes walk :arrr: but this is different, if you don't see their faces (although the music is the real reason you're at a concert), it's just not the same feeling/ experience/ :(
