Posted August 13, 200915 yr Amy Lee posted this on an Evanescence site updating everyone on whats happening with the band Hey everybody! Just checkin in. There's been a lot of writing going on this summer and I'm starting to get really excited. My good friend Will happens to also be a great producer, writer and programmer (lucky for me!) and we've been slaving away at some pretty interesting stuff lately... I'm not giving anything away just yet. Terry and I have been working together this week at my place just like old times and life is pretty good. I have a little surprise for you that I can't spill just yet, but its coming soon and I can't wait. I will let you know as soon as I'm allowed to! Talk to you soon! love, Amy p.s. My favorite music right now: CSS, Depeche Mode (sounds of the universe)('in chains' especially), MGMT, MIA. -Wow. I just realized thats a lot of initials... *ahem* Miss Lee... GET YOUR ARSES INTO GEAR. Its been too long.
August 13, 200915 yr Well, there's really nothing in that internet posting to indicate that Evanescence itself is actually still a going concern, it seems to me that it'll likely be an Amy Lee solo project more than anything...

August 14, 200915 yr I thought they were just on a hiatus? The 'magic' they held for me faded with 'The Open Door'. I just didn't feel that album at all maybe because I wasn't in the same place as I was with 'Fallen'. Am intrigued to see what they/she come up with anyway.

I just didn't feel that album at all maybe because I wasn't in the same place as I was with 'Fallen'. Funny, I always thought The Open Door was 10 times the album "Fallen" was, it sounded more like an album by a ROCK band than a pop group.... Not that I didn't like the songs on "Fallen", because the demo versions were all good, but I thought the production was just, well, off.... That happens sometimes though, good tunes which sound great live can be killed by over-polished production (eg, Nirvana's "Nevermind")
August 14, 200915 yr Well the themes explored are different on both of the albums and I guess those on 'Fallen', I am able to relate to more.
August 25, 200915 yr I much preferred 'The Open Door', Fallen got old quickly for me. I'm just glad Amy is still working with Terry to be honest, they make the best music.
