meh... "appear"

it could be the same as Dancing With The Stars or what's the show's title.... <_< he APPEARS on the screen for 5 seconds :P

Wow :o

It is shocking that the official site have actually confirmed this :o They really have got their act together since re-opening the site it has to be said. I am delighted he will be on te X Factor. It is the perfect platform to promote the new album due to being the biggest show on UK TV. I hope he mentors the acts as well and the acts sing his songs. Can you imagine Louis 'bloody' Walsh's face  I wasnt planning on watching the XF this year as it has become so boring, but this is a good reason - that night anyway.

Let's hope the X Factor is only one of the hopefully many promo dates.

I think this is a great move by him. Wish he was a judge though. That would be well cool.
I would give anything to see Robbie & Madonna on together but I guess that is too much to ask ...how about you Spark...

Guess they decided to confirm since there were so many rumours.

Theres this BBC story:

Pop star Robbie Williams will appear on the new series of the X Factor, a statement on his website has confirmed.

It is not clear what his role will be, but it is likely the star, who has recently announced details of his new album, will perform on the ITV show.

Earlier this week, newspapers reported that the 31-year-old would make an appearance during the series.

A statement posted on his website said: "We're very excited to tell you that this is true."

The singer announced earlier this month that his next album - Reality Killed The Video Star - will be released in November.

The first single from the album, Bodies, will be released on 11 October.

More rumours

Williams, best known for hits such as Angels and Let Me Entertain You, has not revealed when he will appear on the X Factor.

"Details are still being finalised so make sure you stay tuned for further announcements," the statement said.

"As soon as we're able to tell you more, we'll let you know right here."

It has also been rumoured that Rihanna, Whitney Houston and Madonna might also make appearances on the talent show, which is hosted by Dermot O'Leary.

Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh will all return on the judging panel.

Last year, Alexandra Burke was crowned the winner of the show.

Gawd !!! my head is wrecked tonight :drama:

I am beginning to think it was all a PR stunt ...you know ' post it on the site for a short time & then take it back down' keeps everyone guessing & asking ' will he won't he ' ...keeps the interest going.... <_<

It's a long way yet to the album release so I guess they are working hard at this PR thing...hence all this recent activity

  • 4 weeks later...

It's official! :cheer:

Robbie Williams to launch his comeback with a performance on X Factor

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 4:20 PM on 17th September 2009

Robbie Williams has confirmed he will be appearing on this year's series of the X Factor.

The singer is lined up to perform his new single Bodies as a 'world exclusive' when the first of the X Factor live finals begin next month.

It will be the first time Robbie, who yesterday returned to Los Angeles after whistle stop visit to London, has performed in the UK since 2006.

Robbie says: 'I’m a huge fan of The X Factor. Of course I’ll be watching every week, just like everyone else.'

He is also expected to mentor one of the groups, according to the TV talent show's choreographer Brian Friedman.

Friedman also let slip last month that Simon Cowell was working on signing up appearances by Madonna, Whitney Houston and Rihanna.

Robbie Williams latest comeback single 'Bodies'

Robbie's comeback has been hotly anticipated as he returns with new single Bodies. The video features the singer at an airport and dancing on aeroplanes

Last year mentors included Mariah Carey, boyband Westlife, Take That's Gary Barlow and Mark Owen and Beyoncé, who delivered a triumphant performance with winner Alexandra Burke.

ITV producers are said to be pulling out all the stops this year as they battle BBC 1’s popular reality show Strictly Come Dancing for viewers.

Bodies will be released on October 12, followed by Robbie’s new album “Reality Killed The Video Star” on November 9.

But that's the bloomin Mails opinion...the official announcement I guess will be by X Factor themselves ... <_<

True. <_<

Could still be a load of old bollocks
