Oh, it's going to happen then? And it's Olly he's duetting with? Wonder what song they'll do....

Yup, it has now been officially confirmed by Simon himself at a press conference that Rob will duet with Olly, George with Joe and Michael Buble with Stacy :D

I have a feeling the rating are going to top 20 million at some stage over the course of the weekend :D

I dont know what Rob and olly will sing though. LMEY and Rock DJ are not really songs I can see Rob singing these days for some reason, and they have already been sung by others contestents during the Robbie week. Olly already did She's The One, so I think it will be Angels. Will be odd hearing that sung with another male though, it was bad enough with Joss Stone

I thik they should do an upbeat number as Olly is often compared to Rob for the way he performs and is energentic on stage. Singing Angels wont exactly enable him to dance much

And it's Rob who makes the headlines yet again. :D

Robbie Williams to appear on X Factor final

BBC News

http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/46895000/jpg/_46895252_robbie_getty226.jpg

Robbie Williams is to appear on the final of The X Factor to perform with hopeful Olly Murs.

Joe McElderry will team up with George Michael, while female finalist Stacey Soloman will sing with Michael Buble in her bid to win the series.

Williams made his live comeback after a break of three years on an earlier edition of the ITV talent show.

The 35-year-old's performance of his single Bodies was criticised by some tabloid newspapers.

The star later revealed there had been a blunder directly before his performance when a stage door failed to open.

Speaking at a press conference in London before the weekend's conclusion to this year's series, judge Simon Cowell said there would be "a few surprises" on the show.

Danyl Johnson became the most recent hopeful to be voted off the show last Sunday, leaving the three remaining finalists to battle it out this weekend.

I actually think Kids would be a good one for Rob and Olly to do. It is the perfect song for an energetic performance and Rob has never sung it with another male. Kylie has sung it with Dannii before so it would be interesting. Angels is still the obvious choice but the perfromance itself wouldnt be as entertaining as it could be with an upbeat tune. Anything but Me and My Shadow and I'll be happy

Edit - Louis just said on Irish TV that they will do Angels :smoke:

Sod Robbie, I'm in meltdown as are several other Paul McCartney/Beatles fans finding out he is the "Very Special guest" on the X-Factor Final.

So what he has a new live album, and a non-album single available to download on Monday 14th December in the UK, he has sold out badly by agreeing to appear on a show he has previously criticised on numerous occasions.

And what makes it worse is that it was reported that Paul was in conversation with both Robbie and a certain Gary Barlow backstage at the Royal Albert Hall CIN concert discussion whether to appear on this show or not, so the Take That fanbase past and present is going to take a considerable amount of the blame.

Sorry, but to me this is worse than rejoining a band that you've slagged off members of for the previous decade plus.

Doing kids would be a brilliant choice, I'm not so sure about Angels but no doubt I will be able to see it on youtube after The X factor final.

I don't really understand your post Thisispop, Robbie did something wrong towards Paul McCartney/ The Beatles ?

I'm not too bothered to find out what's it all about though. To be fair, if I were Robbie I would get so sick and tired about people talking about me constantly, that I

would run run run and never look back again.

I hope he's enjoying the show and the duet and that's it. All the other alternative motives doesn't matter for me. He was a guest in a dutch tv show last night and came across as a lovely, honest, cheeky and vulnerable man ( as always ).

 New live album and a non album single - is this Robbie you are talking about or George Michael?

George Michael has a live dvd out and a non album single - December song that can be downloaded on the 14th December.

Do I want Robbie to appear again on X factor – NO ..... for this reason only: because It won’t matter how good the performance will be, the non Robbie fans and british tabloids will relish in putting him down anyway.

Would I of liked Paul McCartney to make a special appearance on X Factor NO to that one aswell. Never been a fan of his music so I'm quite happy he isn’t on the show. Sorry. -_-

Couldn't they have got a female to sing with Stacey? :( Can't wait to see Robbie again though! ^_^

Madonna was rumoured at one time to appear, would of been great if she could of done a duet with Stacey.

I'ld love to see 3 of my fav singers in one show

I'm on about Paul McCartney who releases his live album "Good Evening New York City" and non album download only single "(I Want To) Come Home" that receives its first UK official airplay on Radio 2 tomorrow morning.

The very fact on his own website since the news was announced less than 3 hours ago that the most successful songwriter in music history with over 1.6 billion sales is lowering himself to appear as "the very special guest" on the X-Factor finale a 4 5 page thread has developed with the title "Is Paul a hypocrite" tells its own tale.

I'm very upset and angry with Paul whom on numerous occasions has rightly attacked Simon Cowell and the X-Factor once famously describing the show as "a musical cancer", should result to this "volte face". Especially when he has previously refused Westlife the right to cover his "Through Our Love" ballad; encouraged his good friend Stevie Wonder to not allow Westlife to murder "I Just Called To Say I Love You"; refused X-Factor permission to perform any of his post Beatles songs on the show; appeared in the Peter Kay X-Factor satire Britain's Got The Pop Factor; and spent £30 million in today's money on setting up the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in a derelict part of his native city .......

But then again since September 2009 when he signed up with new Music Public Relations Officer Stuart Bell whom also handles Take That, Leona Lewis, Ronan Keating and X-Factor presenter/Radio 2 DJ Dermott O'Leary and is strongly rumoured within the industry to be brokering the Take That with Robbie Williams 2011 album and tour, this has sadly not come about as a shock, just a bitter disappointment.

As a fan myself I understand why you are pissed off Rich. It does make Macca look like a hypocrite and tbh I couldnt believe he was meant to be appearing. He is one of the last artists I would expect to see on the XF. You would think he would be aware how much this would anger his fans. I was not aware it was Rob and Gary who persuaded him to appear though. Shame on them both if you ask me. Next thing they will persuade David Bowie to do a duet with Jedward -_-

I am not a big XF fan but if Robbie, George Michael, Michael Buble & Paul McCarthey are appearing on the same night I will be glued to the tv screen with my finger on the Sky+ button....

they all say at one time or another they will never do it but hey who is going to turn down the opportunity of appearing in front of 12 million + people .........

<_<

But didn't Paul already appear on American Idol and let the contestants to sing Beatles' songs? How is this time any different?

Oh and Go Robbie :cheer: (even though it is the damn X Factor <_< )

Paul McCartney has always been a hypocrite, if he wasn't he'd never have accepted a knighthood. WTF did they give him a knighthood ? He handed back his MBE

Apparently Robbie wants to dance with Olly, so I'm hoping that's a sign that they've changed their minds about Angels. I agree with Scotty, Kids would be a great choice.

Jesus. How ignorant. Paul has always been a bit of an establishment/royalist which is one of the reasons the critics have not been too kind to him..

It was John who handed back his MBE in 1969 due to the Vietnam War and his single Cold Turkey falling down the charts.

No it was not Paul. It was Yoko Ono who did.

Besides he and Yoko have no power of authority regarding Lennon/McCartney songs much to their chagrin, as they are owned by Sony Publishing and Michael Jackson's estate.

Well the Ollly duet of Angels was as I expected nowhere as good as it couldve been if they had have done something upbeat. They should never have tampered with the song by shortening it and Rob got mixed up when coming out of when to start. I didnt think Olly sang it well either which I was dissapointed with apart from the first chorus he did. During the verse he sounded so nervous and Rob had to carry him a bit. Rob didnt seem nervous at all this time around though and looked a hell of alot more like a pop star than last time, especially the hair  I enjoyed it overall but I feel it was a bit of a wasted opportunity to not have taken advantage of doing an upbeat number.

I enjoyed the other duets as well but wtf was with good ole George? I think he forgot it was a duet for a while as he seemed to sing most of the song and then didnt even big Joe up with his comments after

I couldnt believe it when Dermot announced Rob would be performing again :o I was delighted and thought the performance of YKM was utterly fantastic. It most definatly put things right after all the negetivity with Bodies las time. He was simply brilliant and nailed it. The crowd were singing along as well and Prince Harry clapping in the audience. Shame it is prob too late for it's promo for this week as most people will download/buy it tomorrow or next week but you never know. Enough may download it tonight to get it top 10 tomorrow :P

Overall I couldnt care less who wins this year. None of them will be here in 5 years never mind 10 so it doesnt matter although I was glad Olly got through as at least he can bloody perform and doesnt just stand there. There are enough acts these days who just stand there, we dont need more
