My review -_-

Part 1

3.10 we left home to beat the traffic

4.10 we arrived at friend's house about 1 and a half miles from Hampden. Parked and started walking to stadium.

4.11 found a pub just round the corner. Full of Celtic fans heading to the big match.

6.30 left pub

6.50 reached Hampden. Missed The Hours. Sounded ok from a distance as we approached but can't really comment.

6.51 reached Bar at Hampden

7.20 found our seats. Actually quite good ones. Near bar, food area and the lavvy. Glasvegas on stage.

Glasvegas- they were ok. Not really my cup of tea and the lead singer sounded bevvied. Kept mentioning Celtic. <_< Friend No 3 is a big Glasvegas fan. She said the crowd weren't enthusiastic enough and Glasvegas songs are normally really bouncy. Didn't sound particularly bouncy to me but hey, I'm old.

8.15 U2 due on stage. No sign.

Now part 2. -_- :w00t:

8.30 U2 finally arrive on stage :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

Well! I thought the concert was fantastic. And what about that amazing stage? I was mesmerised.

Although we were in seats, everyone stood the whole time. I danced around for a solid 2 hours. And the people around us were, how can I put it, rather :hic: . So it was a great atmosphere.

Highlights for me were-

- Stuck In a Moment. Totally stripped down version. Just really Bono and The Edge. Sublime.

- Still Haven't Found. Loudest crowd singing anywhere on this Tour. Guaranteed.

- Sunday Bloody Sunday. Crowd were actually standing on the seats at this one. And some fell off.

- Elevation. Bouncy Bouncy. :w00t:

- Vertigo. See above.

- Streets Have No Name. Everybody jumping about and screaming their heads off.

- Crazy Tonight (Remix). This went down really well. :o Don't think 99% of the crowd had a clue what the feck it was but it really worked for some strange reason. :D

What I wasn't so keen on-

- The beginning. I didn't think playing 4 songs from the new album back to back was a great idea. I sensed most of the crowd didn't know them. I like Breathe but don't think it's a strong enough opener.

- The encore. I love Ultraviolet. I love With or Without You. I reasonably like Moment of Surrender. But as an encore I thought they were too 'samey'. Too low key. Encores should be bouncy and leave you on a high. This one seemed a wee bit flat.

- We got one song less than everybody else. :arrr:

So. Good start. Fantastic Middle. Good end.

The funny part-

Bono had just finished his political preaching (aka toilet break) and launched into Walk On. All of a sudden the sound failed. A bored roadie obviously pulled out the wrong plug. Anyway, there was nothing. No sound at all. But Bono didn't know. He had his ear piece in and continued to give it laldy with all the accompanying actions. The crowd all started laughing, pointing and booing but the Band were totally oblivious. The silence probably lasted about 2 minutes before sound was restored. Don't think Bono had a clue.

Anyway, apart from a wee bit drizzle on the walk down it stayed dry. I had no need of my rain poncho. B)

I'll post some more clips from YouTube. :D

I'd have been bouncing on my seat if I were there for Sunday Bloody Sunday......

Glad you enjoyed yourself, Jups..... :)

Actually, I do agree with this! :o

I like your review Jupsy! :D And I like that funny moment!
