There is definitely more to GaGa than the music. Few can deny the music is top notch pop/dance but its the feelings about her that go with it that are just as important. My reaction to her (and I haven't actually seen any of the interviews she's done) is one of curiosity! I love her music (the songs I've heard) but I find her strangely attractive too. I don't mean attractive in that I want to have a date with her ... but I'm using the word as a euphimism I suppose for a 'magnet'. Like her or loathe her ... you can't ignore her!

Yep, this exactly. And if your as unreserved and headline-making as she is, there's definitely going to be a love/hate opinion of her which Feel The Fever pointed out. I'm obviously on the love side and the majority are in the middle because even if she comes across as weird or annoying (her core fans obviously think the opposite) its always going to draw people to her and most importantly her music. Take Leona Lewis for example, without X factor I doubt she'd be nearly as successful as she is now because of her 2D personality, GaGa has an almost 4D personality which the typical music fanatic or person with a 3D personality can either be put off by or fall in love with. And what she says in general correlates extremely well with her song lyrics which is why I find it so bizzare if people like her songs and not her personality when her songs are her personality. Do people just like her songs because they sound good and ignore what lyrical meaning of them are, baffling. .

The Leona Lewis mention is interesting in itself and you're right. As much as I think Leona Lewis has a good (nay ... make that bloody good) voice she really doesn't make me want to find out more about her. I think she's really sweet ... and her personality is just that ... she is sweet and a really nice person but she just doesn't interest me. If I was to go out for a night on the town ... I'd rather go with GaGa's gang than Leona's.

I 100% agree about Leona, her personality does nothing for her career but the positive of that is, its her music that people like and are buying simply for the music, is gaga's music strong enough to simply do that??

It probably is!

Im not so convinced.

You can dance to GaGa ... you can't to Leona's (unless you count the dreaded 'slowie' at your bog-standard disco).

Norma

True, but when your all oved up some of those leona songs go down very well, i dont mean a slow set at a disco i mean when your at home with a loved one.

That's not who and what her music's aimed for. . She's an artist not just a musician. Her music, personality, fashion sense, performance all go hand in hand with each other to put across the art of Lady GaGa. She didn't need X Factor or Xenomania to be huge, she did it all on her own so obviously if she had no personality her music would still be huge but then at the same time her songs would be completely different. I think your missing the point I'm making a bit?

No, i totally understand your point and i see what you are explaining, and im not knocking that at all, but i suppose what i am trying to say i dont think she will stand the test of time, her next album will probably do well but i think it is gonna be very interesting to see what happens after that.

Tori Amos has reportedly praised Lady GaGa's live performances - but revealed that she doesn't think the singer will have a lasting career.

In an interview with The Sun, the 46-year-old explained that GaGa is what she calls a "meteor - singers who entertain people for a while".

She said: "Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. But then there are people like Neil Young who show up at Glastonbury 40 years into their career. And that's a very different kind of artist. Neil Young doesn't have to get his bum out on stage!

"The question is, will Lady GaGa be playing alongside Neil Young at Glastonbury in 20 years time?"

She added: "She wants to entertain people. Right now, half the world is depressed and they need to be entertained. So her timing's perfect."

Amos recently announced details of a short UK tour for September, supporting the release of her tenth studio album Abnormally Attracted To Sin.

This is kinda how i felt myself so i fully agree with Tori.
