September 21, 200915 yr What gets me is the way they're blaming Alesha for the fact that they didn't beat X-Factor in the ratings. It doesn't matter if Arlene was still there ... they still wouldn't beat X-Factor in the ratings. She's being made a scapegoat. Alesha does have a purpose there anyway ... OK ... so she may not be qualified to judge on the technicalities but as a contestant ... she knows what is expected from a contestant. I'm just glad Arlene's gone ... I can't stand the crusty old toad! Norma
September 21, 200915 yr I'm just glad Arlene's gone ... I can't stand the crusty old toad! Norma I can understand her being removed as a judge but why did they not replace her with the likes of former dancers Karen Hardy or Camilla Dallerup, at least they would be qualified to judge and have competed in this contest so know what it is like to be on the other side of the judges comments.

I think Alesha has a valid contribution to make though, as I said, she sees it from the 'amateur', celebrity point of view. Perhaps this is where the mistake is ... the makers should have had her offer her contributions from this viewpoint ... not as an expert (even though poor Alesha never claimed to be one). I think she really is being given a hard time by the press at the moment ... they seem to be blaming her for Strictly's 'poor' ratings ... which is ridiculous anyway ... as considered it was up against X-F ... the ratings it had were bloody good. And where the hell all these 'experts' come from in writing to the BBC demanding she be removed I do not know! I'm no expert in ballroom dancing but my mum and dad were ... they actually went for lessons in their youth at a very, very reputable dance school in Liverpool. My mum still does ballroom dancing (although in her 80's the Latin American routines are no longer an option) and she felt that Alesha is a good addition to the show. If people are being picky ... I don't know why the hell they don't complain about Ruthie Henshall being a judge on Dancing On Ice ... as in addition to skill ... ice skating takes a hell of a lot more balls than ballroom dancing. I went ice-skating last week (for the first time since I was a teenager) and I can honestly say ... I will never call Todd Carty bad again! In Arlene Phillips' defence ... it isn't her moaning about not being on the show anymore ... its everyone around her. September 21, 200915 yr I haven't watched any of this year's, but I feel really sorry for Alesha. She's definitely getting a lot of stick. It just seems all a bit hypocritical that Cheryl is welcomed to X Factor with open arms, yet Alesha is 'ruining the show' and they're both in identical situations. Both replaced older, slightly batty, females with a lot more knowledge than them on their respective panels. (wasn't everyone saying Arlene was way too harsh with her comments last year and saying she was losing it anyway?) Sharon seemed like she knew nothing about music, but she seemed to have done a good job managing Ozzy. Cheryl was taken on as someone who'd been in the shoes of the contestants and happened to be young and pretty. Alesha was also taken on as someone who knew what the contestants were going through and was also young (though in showbiz early 30s is a bit 'old') and pretty. Both are nice to the contestants and find it hard to be critical. What's the problem with Alesha, but not Cheryl? It's not like she's actually losing them viewers, Strictly lost out to X Factor last year. (hence the reason for this unpopular 'shake up'?) Plus, Strictly started at an earlier time to X Factor and it's peak figures were quite stable, it's not like hundreds of thousands were switching over throughout the show.

Exactly ... if I recall rightly .... hundreds of people (sad old duffers) wrote to the BBC demanding she be fired for her 'bullying'. Personally I don't think ANYONE has written in to the BBC about anything ... I imagine it is all made up by the press to further try and bully Alesha. I think she's doing an OK job ... and lets face it ... we're talking a fluffy 'reality' show here .... it ain't Panorama, World In Action, or even John Craven's Newsround! Norma
October 6, 200915 yr Can you believe the BBC aren't sacking Anton for his comments even they the BBC sacked Carol Thatcher for her comments.
November 7, 200915 yr I'm so glad Craig is out. He was so rubbish. I can't believe he lasted this long. YAY FOR NATALIE! She looks so hot
November 16, 200915 yr Shame there was so many injuries this week! Felt awful for Laila. On dancing quality: 01. Ali 02. Ricky W 03. Jade 04. Laila 05. Natalie 06. Chris 07. Ricky G Though all of the top 6 are great now! In terms of who I want to win 01. Natalie 02. Chris 03. Jade 04. Ali 05. Ricky W 06. Laila 07. Ricky G
November 18, 200915 yr Big shame about Laila! Her rumba looked quite good. I reckon she would have got a 10 if she hadn't injuried her leg. I want Laila to win. She's my fav.
December 13, 200915 yr What a shame Chris Hollins may win this show even though he has never received a 10 and isn't up to the standards as Ricky W & Ali. Big big shame Ali was voted off even though she received 5 10's on one of her performances. Is Chris getting the middle aged women vote?
December 19, 200915 yr Chris Hollins shouldn't be in the final! Agreed. But he is going to win via "the Darren Gough vote".
December 19, 200915 yr Agreed. But he is going to win via "the Darren Gough vote". Darren Gough was decent and he danced. Chris just doesn't! I would have liked to have seen Jade in the final if she hadn't injuried her knee.
December 19, 200915 yr Blah blah blah! Chris Hollins looks the same age as his mum and dad - SERIOUSLY!
December 19, 200915 yr Lol at Chris and Ola getting ready to do that swimming move - they look like they are getting ready for the........69er
