would you really like to be stinking rich?

i mean, whats the point in living in a palacial mansion? does marble and satin really make a difference to your life?

surely all we need is enough money to live comfortably, as when the grim reaper calls you cant take it with you. it doesnt make you a better person, so what really is the point?

i think theres too much weight put on materialism now, and not enough put on spirituality.

Not too bothered about spirituality tbh but I agree in general about the rest

I have absolutely no desire to live alone in a massive mansion **** its a pain at the best of times cleaning a 3 bedroom semi let alone a giant palace and I would have no wish to have a Jeeves like guy waiting on me hand and foot saying "would Sir like a dessert ?" when infact all I want is to put my feet up and sink a cold beer, I do not want nor need an absolute fortune, I have no desire to have a yacht or a private jet, the satisfaction that I am the best at what I do and enough money to live on comfortably and do things I want suit me just fine

well if i had a million dollars i think i would buy a house, furniture for the house (possibly a chesterfield or an ottoman, a nice Reliant automobile...

...a tree fort, a little tiny fridge to put in the tree fort containing pre-wrapped sausages, a fur coat (but not a real fur coat that would be cruel lust like those hunter who shot bruno), An exotic pet (like a llama or emu, or maybe a tasmanian devil?), the remains of John Merrick, a limousine to drive to the store, a Kraft Dinner, Some art (maybe a Picasso or a Garfunkel) a monkey and lots of...

Being rich is being fine as long as it doen't distract totally from your life.

The world is a very rich place, but at present we have no system to ensure that all are rich, however mathemathically there is more then enough money to go around.

The balance with spirituality seems clear at this time, there is plenty of opportunity to take time out to find yourself, to listen to your inner voice, it's a choice whether you do that or not. There is also a great amount of good spiritual written material about, so seek and you will find.

Wow a million canadian dollars is £488,477.75 british pounds!!!
Yeah..... if i was stinking rich (so rich i could wipe my arse with £50 notes) then i'd be happier, i think. I could purchase anything i wanted at any time, as well as makking the people closest to me happier. I hate all these people who envy rich people, if the've worked hard for years upon years then they desrve it..... however people who win the lottery are just smug gits <_<
But imagine if you were a billionaire... You could pay 1 different hollywood actress everyday to have sex... You could contract Steven Spielberg to make a movie about the story of your life and watch it alone. You could buy an airplane just to make it crash somewhere and have fun...

If I won the lottery (not that I play it its for mugs) I would tell NO ONE outside of my immediate family

I would still carry on working and would stay in my current house etc

Why?

Why?

Because I would get desperately board without work, I am the type that will still be working at 75

I have no desire to travel the world on a yacht or private jet etc, I hate flying and I have travelled more than enough in my life, I live alone so why would I want a mansion ? ;) I hate swimming so would have no desire for a swimming pool etc

If I won the lottery I would buy a Noble sports car, upgrade my home cinema and other than that I would lead my current life

If I did ever win the lottery then I sure know what i'd do with quite a bit of it, i'd give it too my local football club who are in despearate need of cash.

I wouldn't call everyone who won the lottery smug gits, in the example of "the king of chavs" then yes you can call him a smug git but he is the typical sterotype lottery winner atm.

And when I die I would donate the whole lot to animal charities

Yes, who cares about starving kids when there are so many homeless dogs.

I prefer animals

That is my perogative

There are no starving kids in this country and if I donated my money to Africa it would end up funding Mercedes' and palaces for corrupt dictators and their cronies not helping the starving

When I die every penny I have will be going to designated dogs homes, donkey sanctuaries and charities that help endangered species

I'll think you'll find that there are starving children in Britian, just cos we're a MEDC doesn't mean that poverty and starving doesn't exisist. And if your money goes to a charity then the government/higher power can't touch it.....

There is poverty in this country but nothing like the level there is in parts of India, Brazil and in Africa

Poverty to me is no food, diseases like dysentry and typhoid through dodgy water etc and to suggest that that exists in our working class is living in cloud cuckoo land, no offence, we have an NHS and a welfare state, do India and Africa and Brazil ?

Poverty these days seems to be having a 26 inch tv instead of a 42" one and only having the family pack in Sky instead of the sports and movies channels as just about every time I go to any council house they always seem full of the latest gadgets

i was just makking the point that we still have kids who starve, i know it isn't as bad as LEDCs like Brazil and India but we still have kids that starve cos of neglect or their parents don't have enough money...

I know this is a really narrow minded way to view this but I think if you have the money then you can do whatever you want with it, wether it be buying villa's in Sant Tropez or giving it all to NSPCC.

Personally, If I were to gain a large sum of money then I would be buying flashy cars, big houses and such, but also give amounts to charity.

Another thing is that people save ther money up to leave a lump sum after they die for family, but the majority of the time the family don't want the money.

many people will probably will disagree with this but you cant have fun with money when your dead, so why not enjoy yourself while your alive?
