I like the verses,the "happy happy happy" part and the outro but I hate the chorus and the bridge.Overall the song just does nothing for me no matter how many times I listen to it.

I'm a huge Leona fan and I've loved everything shes done so far including her underground album "Twilight", but this is just awful imo.Its got nothing to do with the fact Ryan Tedder produced & co-wrote it.Its just not cathcy at all.

I hope it grows on me.

Leona's releasing a few weeks after isn't she? So of course Alexandra will beat Leona (and you're assuming Alexandra has it in the bag .... Rob releases the same week). However if Leona was releasing the same week as Alexandra .... I doubt she'd get even half Leona's sales. I think this is great. Much prefer it to the over the top and (even desipte its sales - overrated) Bleeding Love.

I think Leona will get much higher sales than Alexandra. "Happy" is in a different league to "Bad Boys".

I do like it don't get me wrong but I can't help feel "Bleeding Love" Mock 2.

It will probably change, I mean i didn't like most of Spirit till I listened to it over and over.

LOL are you serious? Bad Boys is s**t compared to ANY of Leona's songs..... yes, Bad Boys will go to number 1, but Happy will go to number 1 and sell twice as much!!

LOL i feel quite sorry for Alexandra, she will always be compared to Leona with everything now..

having said that, I dont think Bad Boys is a patch on Happy and I don't think Alex is a patch on Leona :P

I agree with the second part,but I actually think BB is better than Happy.

BB is crap compared to and EPIC ballad Happy.
I prefer Bad Boys myself (dont get any idead now, i mean the song obv). I honeslty dont get why you feel the need to be critical of Alex though, her and Leona just happened to come from the same show - they are two differet artists releasing songs on different weeks.

Oh please, it was quite obvious from the moment Alex won they'd be compared. They're the only two female winners in X-Factor history who could be targeted towards the same market. It was inevitable.

Anyway, I like "Happy" but I was hoping for something different. I'm a Leona st.an so I'll support her whatever she releases, but I wanted more. On a real positive, her voice is magic on this.

For me Happy is just fanatastic, Bad Boys is a good track and High five to alex and her team though for choosing a different direction instead of a carbon copy of leona.

This isn't bad actually :o I've never been able to stand her before but this is by far the best thing she's ever done imo.

For those still blown away by "Bleeding Love," the pair of Leona Lewis and producer Ryan Tedder have an even more powerful song for you. There is the same stately elegance that puts the songs in a similar sonic category. A static, ambient chord kicks things off, but cascading piano soon kicks in and we end up with a trademark Tedder wall of percussion for the chorus. However, "Happy" is more mature lyrically than "Bleeding Love" and Leona Lewis' singing moves to a different level of interpretive power here. This is a stellar song delivered with a near perfect performance.

 

The song "Happy" details in words a concept that not taking chances may build a life of safety. However, it's those risks we choose to take that are necessary for truly being happy. Leona Lewis sings emphatically that she is going to dismiss the former advice in favor of the risks so that she can have the chance at finding happiness.
