Robbie Williams to get branded iPhone racing game

Mobile games firm Artificial Life has announced a deal to make an official Robbie Williams iPhone game, due for release later this year.

The as-yet unnamed game will tie in with Williams' new Reality Killed The Video Star album, and will thus include music and artwork from the album within the game.

It's not a music game along the lines of the Lady GaGa Revenge and Coldplay Revenge titles made by US firm Tapulous, though. Instead, Artificial Life's Robbie game will be a 3D rally racing title.

That presumably means the publisher will be using its existing racing engine - the one used for its two iPhone games for BMW - with Williams' music slapped on top.

Cynics (us included) might question just how valuable this reskinning approach is for a brand or pop star - just as we wondered about yesterday's launch of Real Madrid

ROBBIE : I WAS CLOSE TO DEATH

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has revealed for the first time how his addiction to prescription drugs was so bad it nearly killed him.

The singer checked himself into rehab on his 33rd birthday in 2007 when death "came knocking".

His ex-girlfriend LISA D'AMATO revealed at the time how he was hooked on anti-depressants.

And now Rob has opened up about just how grim his life became during the depths of a three-year addiction.

He said: "Robbie Williams does not go into rehab just if his life gets a bit out of control. It was damn serious. Death had to knock on my door to help me with my decision."

Serious stuff. So serious, I'm prepared to ignore the fact he's speaking in the third person.

Rob still fears he could relapse. He said: "I have a self-destructive character but does this hold me back from being happy? No."

The hitmaker arrived at JFK airport in New York yesterday with his girlfriend AYDA FIELD.

And he made yet another reference to how important she has been in his recovery. Rob said: "She didn't try to change me and, just like that, she changed me for the better.

"I'm in love with someone who returns this love as strongly. I've never experienced that. That's what makes me so careful in this relationship. I don't want to hurt Ayda."

That's a man who'll never again go off for a lost weekend with the boys.

Robbie had reason to celebrate with a lime and soda in the Big Apple last night - his comeback gig sold out in seconds.

He will play to 2,000 fans at his first UK show in three years for the BBC Electric Proms at London's Roundhouse on October 20.

And the ex TAKE THAT star's new single Bodies will hit shelves on October 12 with album Reality Killed The Video Star following on November 9.

It will be an impressive moment when Robbie takes to the stage again to reclaim his pop crown.

Robbie Williams to reunite with Take That at F1 Rocks gig?

Britain News.Net

Saturday 26th September, 2009 (ANI)

London, September 26 : Robbie Williams has fuelled rumours of rejoining 'Take That' after showing up for Mark Owen's stag party.

The former band member arrived as a surprise guest at the stag do arranged by songwriter Gary Barlow.

The singer, along with Mark, Gary, Jason Orange and Howard Donald, has also reportedly been in talks for appearing at the next F1 Rocks gig.

"The lads were all sitting there chatting and Gary kept looking nervously at the door  ," the Mirror quoted a source at the SoHo House restaurant as saying.

"Suddenly in walked Robbie Williams. Mark jumped out of his chair and gave him a big hug. He had the cheesiest grin on his face.

"All the lads looked happy to see Robbie. It looked exactly like what it was - old friends getting back together. They spent a couple of hours chatting. They were all well-behaved, not rowdy, although Mark seemed a bit the worse for wear by the end," the source added.

When does Marky Mark get married? I think it's at a castle somewhere in Scotland. Wonder if Robbie will be best man? :o

Here's a photo of Mark and the future Mrs Mark

Williams album title was "pretentious"

Sunday, September 27 2009, 19:10 BST

By Catriona Wightman

Robbie Williams changed the title of his next album because the original name was too "pretentious".

The singer explained that he originally wanted to call the record Il Protagonisto, which is Italian for 'the protagonist'.

"As in spaghetti western, as in man who comes in and clears up the town for the bad guys but you're not sure whether he's the bad guy or not yourself," Williams told MTV.

However, he added that his managers had insisted that he change the name.

"People would quite rightly go, 'That's pretentious', which is what my management did," he said. "They went, 'No, that's pretentious' and I went, 'Yeah, yeah'.

"So that was a mouthful. Got rid of that. Reality Killed The Video Star is in."

Reality Killed The Video Star will be released on November 9.

Robbie Williams set to marry Ayda Field

Katie Hind

Robbie Williams has told his girlfriend Ayda Field that She's The One, and now I hear she's about to get him down the aisle.

The Robster, who has been dating the American beauty for just over two years, has been boasting that he is to marry.

Robbie, 34, has even hinted that he and Ayda are secretly engaged and are already planning their big day.

A source close to the former Take That star revealed: "Robbie is so loved up with Ayda, they are inseparable at the moment.

"He talks a lot about them getting married and has even suggested that they are engaged and deciding where to hold their wedding.

"Robbie hasn't had much luck with women over the years so he is delighted he has finally met someone who actually gets him. They are very happy together.

"But Robbie likes to try and have some kind of private life after so many years in the spotlight, so he is doing all he can to keep the details private."

Since he shot to fame in 1991 as the cheeky one in Take That, Robbie has found himself inundated with women.

He has dated celebs including NICOLE APPLETON, TANYA STRECKER, TARA PALMER TOMKINSON and ex-Spice Girl GERI HALLIWELL.

Robbie, who met Ayda, 29, while he was living in Los Angeles, must have had pretty strong effect on her too.

Last year she moved to Britain with him after he decided to return home to relaunch his singing career.

Rob had spent three years of Lazy Days in Hollywood but is now back with his new track, Bodies.

As well as working hard, he is experiencing domestic bliss for the first time of his life in his sprawling mansion near Swindon, Wiltshire. Kids next, folks?

Just posted this in TT. I'm sure its a load of all tosh!

REWRITE MY FIRE By Victoria Ward 28/09/2009

EXCLUSIVE: Robbie works on new songs with Take That in secret studio reunion

Robbie Williams has embraced one of the most talked about reunions in pop history in a studio on the other side of the Atlantic.

The star seems to have buried the hatchet with his old Take That mates and it is believed they are back working on songs together.

The boys had arranged to meet in New York for Mark Owen's stag do.

But they also had a hush-hush reunion on Saturday and Sunday at the Electric Lady Studios, built for Jimi Hendrix.

It is the first time all five have been at work together as a group since Robbie left to pursue a solo career in 1995.

A source said: "He is back with Take That in the studio and they're all writing together again. Robbie wouldn't be happy performing old Take That songs that he has had no part in.

"But if they can pen new tracks that they're all happy with, they'll record them and he'll be back with them on stage."

Robbie flew from Los Angeles to New York with his girlfriend, American actress Ayda Field, on Wednesday. That night he joined Mark, Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange for dinner.

They got on brilliantly during the boozy get-together over steak and chips at private members' club Soho House. Mark, who will marry his long-term girlfriend Emma Ferguson this winter, was thrilled to see Robbie - hugging him and saying: "I can't believe you're here."

On Saturday they joined forces again as a band - ending 14 years of separation.

Robbie, 35, was spotted arriving at the studio, in Manhattan's West Village, at 2.30pm. The other four left together, with a bodyguard at 9.20pm and walked back to Soho House, where they are believed to be staying.

And the boys were back at the studio yesterday, Robbie arriving at 2.15pm - two hours after first arrivals Gary and Howard. The band are in the studio putting the final touches to a forthcoming live double album - but are expected to write new songs with Robbie. The source revealed: "The lads really did want to celebrate Mark's stag do. But they thought it was the best place to hook up and start writing again without attracting too much attention. They are nowhere near recording anything. This was a writing session to see how they go."

Rumours of a reunion have been circulating for months, with Robbie making it clear he would like to join the band on stage. He has a new single, Bodies, and will play his first UK gig in three years at the Roundhouse, London, next month.

He told the Mirror the five might be back as one for a special appearance at next month's Children In Need charity event at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Robbie said: "Something will definitely happen. Me and Gary have been hanging out a lot lately, talking things over."

And he told Radio 1's Chris Moyles: "I thought I'll just hold off and get my album out and then go and play with my mates."

The massive U-turn followed years of bitter public spats during which the five saw their fortunes rise and fall.

Gary had initial success but was eventually dropped by his record label.

Robbie went on to make eight No1 albums. But his luck began to change and in October 2006 Rudebox, his 10th album overall, had a cool reception.

The other four re-formed Take That in 2005 and met with extraordinary success.

Sales of their album Beautiful World overtook Rudebox. And the four-man Take That have gone on to sell more than six million albums.

Last year Robbie revealed they had all spent time together in the summer.

He said: "The differences we've had have just melted away."

In March, Robbie began recording the album Reality Killed the Video at the same West London studios where Gary Barlow was working. Producer Trevor Horn said they got on "brilliantly well".

2.15PM Robbie and his girlfriend Ayda Field arrive at the New York studio

12PM Gary and Howard are the first at the studio yesterday

1.20PM Jason turns up for the get-together

This so-called 'news' also made it onto the news this morning just after 8!

Norma

Edited by Norma_Snockers

Hopefully he was just popping in to hear the live album while in NY. Let's hope so anyway, although some reckon it is only us lot on the forums who are against them working together, and most fans of both would love it to happen. What do you make of that Norma?

It was on dutchie news aswell that it's very likely Robbie and Take That will perform again together.

I don't want it to happen anytime soon, let's concentrate on the new album first so he can't be blamed for looking for

plubicity and all that crap.

Robbie Williams ‘not rejoining Take That’

By Alistair Foster, London Lite Last updated at 12:53pm on 28.09.09

Reports that Robbie Williams has been recording new material with Take That were knocked down by the band's spokesman today.

Robbie who quit Take That in 1995, was spotted with the lads at a New York studio at the weekend, but Take That's rep insists the boys were just approving final mixes for their live album The Greatest Day.

Robbie, 35, was in town for Mark Owen's stag do, and apparently just popped into the studio for a listen.

-_-
