Oh god I forgot about Char1s (or Char!s?). He was a bit before my time but I couldn't help but notice a few of his 'album covers' with him and his phone in the living room. LMAO

I KNEW I had to enter 'Roo' (if only just to beat you for that record :angry: ). Still it's a spin-off and spin-offs don't really count bye

The first ever BJSC entry where copyright issues such as uploading to Youtube are 100% impossible, because I own the rights to it :P

What about the sample? Or is that YOU singing? :o

It was such an embarrassment, yet it managed to avoid getting nul points, incredible!

You're right there, I DARE you to enter Roo into a regular edition of BJSC, and to be honest it might do well, it's actually a great song! I very nearly sent my own song to the first ever contest, would have got that record done and dusted from day one (and finished last no doubt, not that Believe Again did much better :cry:)

It's a royalty free sample. You can either pay for a vocal sample/track to which you then own the royalties, or you can pay for an entire program containing royalty free samples, which is what I did. I do have a few songs with me singing instead of using a sample but they're pretty cringeworthy so I won't be uploading them :lol:

Oh fair enough, I use free acapella sites for remixes/productions. I did a dubstep remix of Where Have You Been a year ago, but it's so bad I won't be uploading it :lol:

French producer Mark Lower for LVI!

FSR Rontvia will be sending their first ever French act to BJSC LVI. Dance producer Mark Lower's subtle house anthem Bad Boys Cry is a world away from the euphoric trance of Platinum Chains/Colors and has a unique but affecting falsetto vocal topline. Already a major Rontvian smash, the RTVN are hoping that this song will return them to the final having failed to qualify for the final of LV last month! Hear Bad Boys Cry below;

Mark Lower provides FSR Rontvia's worst result in 56 contests!

Mark Lower's Bad Boys Cry has finished 22nd in the semi final of BJSC56. This is by far the lowest a Rontvian entry has ever finished, with Vincent and Sanne Salomonsen missing the final by a whisker and Mira Craig not being too far out either. Ricardo Delta said 'we're really saddened by the complete lack of reception towards Bad Boys Cry, maybe it's too subtle or maybe people didn't like the vocals, either way it's a great shame to get a second DNQ in a row. We're not sure what we'll do next month as Rontvian tastes have moved well away from the changing taste of the BJSC voters, save for a couple of euphoric trance instrumentals earlier in the year and we can't keep sending those. We'll have to see'. Nevertheless, the track has been a huge local hit, spending two weeks at #2 sandwiched between two mammoth Avicii singles.

Gutted. Typical that the entry i get behind the most from you is perhaps your worst performer :(

It is an insanely tough competition this time round, but i still thought you were flying through to the final!

Oh well, I'm pleased that you and RFC seemed to like the track at least, it wasn't completely wasted sending it! Semi 1 was stupidly good but still, I can't defend 3rd from bottom in the semi :lol:

I think it could well have been a case of wrong semi. Looking at those in SF2, 'Bad Boys Cry' might well've fared much better there and qualified comfortably over a small handful of others (knowing Liam's luck it might've been Unovia that would've missed out so he should maybe be thankful you weren't in SF2 :lol: )

Maybe, but I've never used that as much of an excuse for my DNQ's as a song with widespread appeal should be able to qualify regardless. Had it made the final it would have been on lock for bottom five anyway seeing as it only got 7's or less. Being 16th would have been painful but 22nd makes it less so!

I had four years of almost back to back successes so it's about time that I started having my fair share of flops. I've previously managed to adapt to the many changes in BJSC but I'm not finding the hipster movement an easy one to adapt too because I really don't personally enjoy that sort of music as much as my pop and dance (although I've voted for quite a few 'hipster' songs this month it has to be said!). But I'll only ever send entries worthy of making the top three on my personal chart so if those aren't going to get me into the final every now and then these days then so be it! Still, FSR Rontvia are determined to end up more J.Lo than Westlife - e.g. veterans coming up with a flash of brilliance/relevance every now and then rather than growing old and irrelevant, recycling the same old entry with increasingly diminishing returns until we're forced to call it a day :lol:

You seem to to be having a run of bad luck lately, maybe you should try sending Mira again :D

I even voted or your entry this time.

KISS OF DEATH.

Gotta remember not to give you points anymore or you'll be f***ed oops

DJ Kent and The Arrows provide Rontvia's second South African entry of 2013!

Following two consecutive DNQ's was never going to be an easy task but Ricardo Delta has turned to South African male producer DJ Kent and female duo The Arrows for their 57th BJSC entry, Spin My World. Ricardo Delta said 'RTVN 1, FSR Rontvia's biggest radio station have had Spin My World on the A-list for the past couple of weeks and the reaction has been immense, it's a brilliant little house/bassline track with a beautiful piano hook but some production that reminds us of the glorious commercial garage era. Twinned with some absolutely gorgeous vocals we're hoping that this will at the very least return FSR Rontvia to the final'. The track has climbed to No.1 on its second week on the chart in FSR Rontvia, something that Du & Jeg and Bad Boys Cry failed to achieve. Its parent album The Weekent by DJ Kent has stormed in at No.3 on the album chart! Listen to Spin My World below;

Must say I am FULLY behind your entry Rich. It's been all over radio here in SA the last week and I was actually considering it for the next contest! But I'm so pleased you've gone with a SA artist nevertheless! :wub: Who knows maybe Kathaldazia or FSR Rontvia could make history this contest with two South African artists finishing within the top 10 for the first time ever? Wishful thinking I guess :kink:
