September 6, 200915 yr Robbie Williams to be guest star at this year's ARIA music awards Robbie Williams - Bodies Sydney here I come ... Robbie Williams will be performing his new single, Bodies, at the ARIA music awards at Acer Arena in Sydney in November. Source: Getty Images BRITISH pop superstar Robbie Williams has answered an SOS to rescue Australia's music awards. He has signed on to perform his comeback single Bodies at the 2009 ARIA Awards in November. It is a massive coup for the cash-strapped event which will score a huge boost in its coffers and ratings thanks to Williams' megawatt star power. The annual celebration of Australian artists spent several months negotiating a new television home for the awards at Channel Nine after longtime broadcast partner Channel Ten declined to re-sign their contract. Williams' heralded presence on the Acer Arena red carpet and stage on November 26 will attract sponsors keen to bask in his celebrity. Organisers have struggled to find the funds to underwrite the million-dollar budget needed to stage the awards and after-party. ARIA's own budgets have been squeezed by the long-term effects of illegal downloading, with its chairman Ed St John admitting at the recent Hall of Fame event to honour Little Pattie, Mental As Anything and others that it almost didn't happen. St John said yesterday it took the ARIA board "about five seconds" to accept Williams' offer to perform in a deal brokered by his Australian record label boss, EMI's Mark Poston. "To be honest, this landed in our lap. Mark Poston asked if we would like Robbie Williams at the ARIAs and everyone said, 'Are you kidding?'," St John said. "Pink's incredible appearance last year added enormous value to the show, so of course you would jump at a decision to have a superstar of that calibre again." Until Pink, the ARIAs had tried to keep the limited performance slots for Australian artists to showcase their talents to the viewing public. But the early announcement of Williams' inclusion means there will be even fiercer lobbying by label bosses to get their acts - including Hilltop Hoods, Jessica Mauboy and Jet - on the 2009 bill to perform to the millions expected now to tune in. "Its been a subject that has divided the industry. There is a school of thought that if there are eight performance spots, they should all go to Australian artists because that is one of the purposes of the show, to promote Australian music," St John said. "The pragmatic view is that a big international artist attracts viewers and sponsors. "Maybe we've reached a point where we're past cultural cringe and can share our stages. This is about blockbuster entertainment." St John also pointed out that most of the awards' memorable moments in recent years involved Australians - including Keith Urban and John Butler dueling on guitars and Silverchair's comeback, during which Daniel Johns spray painted PG 4 PM on the set. Williams has sold more than 2.5 million records here and his arrival couldn't have been timed more perfectly with his long-awaited record Reality Killed The Video Star out on November 6. Its first single, Bodies, hit the airwaves on Friday evening and is expected to be the most added track to radio playlists this week. EMI will campaign for a No.1 debut on the ARIA singles chart for Bodies. Williams will arrive in Australia on November 24 for a three-day promotional tour culminating with the ARIA awards. September 7, 200915 yr Remember Robbie is on Capital FM tomorrow morning http://www.capitalradio.co.uk/ :P :o I missed it but lucky enough, you can listen again  which I am now http://www.capitalradio.co.uk/on-air/break...obbie-williams/ Johnny and Lisa chat to Robbie Williams Monday, 7 September 2009 07:30 Photos - what happened when Robbie dropped in for some Capital Breakfast Described by Johnny as having the look of a thoroughbred race horse, Robbie popped in to chat about his new album, getting back with Take That and his love of reality TV. He's back with a bang! Listen to both parts of the interview below to hear Robbie chat to Johnny and Lisa about: Take That: Robbie confirms that at some point he will be working with his old bandmates Take That. "They're having a lot of fun, and I've watched the tour. When we get together, we have the best laugh". Johnny and Robbie declare Mark Owen as 'the nicest man in the world', and Robbie confesses his biggest worry about getting back with the band is having to get the dancing right with the rest of the boys. His new album: Although he's worked with Mark Ronson, Robbie said you won't find this track on his album as it includes him rapping, and one of his new commandments is 'Robbie shall not rap'. While the title might be 'Reality Killed The Radio Star' - Robbie thinks it should have been called 'Let Me Underwhelm You'. Robbie for Strictly? Robbie revealed his love of reality TV. Whilst claiming this series of Big Brother was the best yet, he also lists some of the more obscure shows he's picked up. Also, if the album doesn't sell well, and things don't work out with Take That, Robbie's back-up plan is to head first for Strictly Come Dancing, and then onto panto. September 10, 200915 yr Author Really good interview here, a more professional one, hence the lack of mentioning TT for once  http://www.964eagle.co.uk/robbiewilliams.php So def not tour for the next year. Obviously he is not contracted to do another one for this album because it doesnt make sence from a record companys point of view not to tour an album within the first year. Perhaps he is plannig another album for next year and then will tour both? All I hope for is he does a one-off show to promote the album. Serious promotion is what is needed. The radio interviews are good, but I feel a show at the O2 in London broadcast on TV would be the best idea to help the sales. He can't expect the album to be huge without Intensive Care style promotion. :smoke:

I thought it was very interesting where he mentioned about the A & B album..as in' old Robbie' & the 'electronic' stuff.... You have to admire him in a way to have the courage of his convictions...many artists would be too scared to put out anything other than the same old thing time & time again...( a few come to mind that bore me to death ;) ) pillow talk I think they call it... ^_^ Robbie always keeps that fresh approach to his work...dying to hear the full album....
