Yet again, a new UK #1 single debuts in the Europe chart at #5 or #6 (5 in this case). Why does it happen every time? x_x

It's an interesting chart based on sales, downloads and airplay within the EU.

Because its a chart based on points from each chart around Europe, and the UK chart receives the highest points for each position. Since many of the UK #1s have no impact on other european countries, they usually debut in the same place

I thought it was the European Chart according to Billboard. That chart is not complete I guess. Some EU countries are not counted, such as Spain and Romania. The EURO 200 uses 27 charts which are compiled each week exclusively by APC-stats. It uses physical sales, downloads, airplay and additional album sales. As far as I concern it gives a very good picture of the European musicscene. They have a slogan "The brightest view on the European Union musicscene". The chart lasts for almost 5 years now. There's an archive which can be viewed for free.
