The Banning Period

How does it work?!

1. PM Robot (me) with THREE, I repeat, THREE songs that you feel are too cheap for the forthcoming contest.

2. There's really no limit to what songs you wish to ban, you may wish to ban current chart hits (like Kelis - Acapella) or future releases that most of BJ will have heard previous to the contest (like Alexandra Burke - All Night Long).

3. Don't just be totally stupid, and nominate things because someone you don't like is considering them. You don't have to dislike the person, but don't just nominate a song so another can't basically...

4. You DO NOT have to nominate on the banlist, it is completely optional.

5. A song needs three individual votes to be banned from XXVI.

6. Oh, and don't bother nominating songs that are already banned (the songs banned will be named in a list below) - this includes: the first two singles of the current era of any artists with a Buzzjack artist forum; Eurovision entries past, present, or future (but songs that are already out of contention for this year's contest - i.e. having been confirmed to not be potential entries for their nations - are up for grabs and therefore potentially listable).

7. The deadline for nominations is Thursday 15th April, 9pm - so make sure you get your nominations in by then - and don't take too long. Not as long as it's taking me to write up who I nominated for the Buzz Chart...

So...the banned songs + artists (and therefore do not need to be nominated) are:

• Kate Nash - Doo Wah Doo
• Cascada - Pyromania
• Timoteij - Kom
• Sabrina Washington - OMG
• Ellie Goulding - Guns and Horses
• Mini Viva - One Touch
• Any song by Roll Deep
• Any song by Lo-Fi-Fnk
• Any song by Robyn

I think it's safe to say that Robyn would have made another BJSC appearance this month had Nonsuch not come top 3 with Fembots! Will nominate now if I can think of 3 ban-worthy tracks...

Voted, I really can't imagine anyone would send two of my three nominations anyway considering the time frame of the final but stranger things have happened!

Oh Rob, just to add, I'm pretty sure Mini Viva's One Touch was banned for the first time last month and should be carried over to this banlist along with the ones you've already listed. The only ones now taken off are Once, Rocket, On A Mission and Starry Eyed iirc.
