Recent interview with Sophie on her website confirms that:

• A Greatest Hits will be released in November with a brand new single to promote it
• At the time of the interview she was on her way to the studio to write a lead single
• No more singles from Trip The Light Fantastic :(
• She's meeting with Calvin Harris next week to collaborate
• Hopes to release the 'next chapter' of her career next year

I'm happy about the idea of some new singles, and about the Calvin Harris production cus he's very talented and will hopefully make a sure fire hit, also it should get high sales if it's released around Christmas time. However I'm disappointed about the news on no more singles from TTLF, that album has SO much potential! :angry:

That's REALLY annoying. However I can see why she's choosing not to release more singles, after the spectacular flop of 'Today The Sun's On Us' and 'Me And My Imagination', plus she's highly unlikely to get any more radio support from this era.

 

However, the thought of a GH already appalls me. It's like with Girls Aloud and Natalie Imbruglia, I wish they'd have waited till after 4 albums in to make it a much better collection and this will be just the same.

Well tbh what the hell did she expect though releasing TTSOU, If she wants to succeed she should release the songs that are good no matter what they mean to her! Look at Jamelia, she got one of her biggest hits by releasing a song she wrote which was personal to her.

I really can't see it happening as soon as November somehow.

I think its for the best her not releasing another single. It could make things worse.

I will deffinitly buy a greatest hits, as I don't have the first 2 albums, however the lead single could flop as people might just be I might aswell went for the album, that or the album will flop with just 1 new song on it.

I havent got any of her albums or singles and ive liked alot of stuff shes did so i would defo get this. although ive got to say hearing some of the stuff on Trip the light.. there was alot of better single potential than some of the songs she released like 'if you go' and 'if i can't dance'. will be interesting to hear the calvin harris collaboration like.

Well, it's a shame she didn't release "If You Go", anyway it a good to see a new single, hopefully which gets the success it deserves. Trip The Light Fantastic was awesome.

Im hoping if you go will be on the GH - even if it wasnt released its one of the greatest for us fans who brought TTLF

this album hasnt been a great success, but everyone knows she is back now, and i reckon the next album will do better

I had a feelıng we would get a greatest hıts. It wıll be a way of tryıng to re-promote her after the lack of success from the last album. I stıll thınk ıt would have been better to re-release trıp the lıghts wıth a bonus dısc of new tracks and remıxes and have a double A sıde sıngle from ıt ıncludıng a new track.
