I would like to welcome back to the team Matt/ Jester who is re-joining the management team as a GM! Matt took a very short time out of the stresses of management but is now back for more :D
With a focus on the charts Matt will strengthen our team and help Simon in the future direction of our chart areas.
Welcome back

aha I know the problem - on the right of each post is a #[number] for the post number, this was never correct always going 2, 4, 6, 8 etc so there would be no odd post numbers. Odd post numbers have a different colour to even post numbers and when I fixed it today it also meant we got the alternativing post colours back! You prefer it both the same like before?

Im happy to announce that Suedehead2 (Simon) has accepted the position of Admin :D !!
Joining the team as an editor in 2009 Simon continues to provide our excellent front page chart commentary and joined the GM team in 2010. 3 years later as an Admin Simon will continue his focus on the chart area!

the Members List by default is setup to order by Member Name in ascending order. The filters you see when you open the page are the ones used. The reason it doesn't look alphabetical is the special characters are also taken into account (#,! etc) which take priority in the alphabetical sort order over normal A-Z characters.

The current warning system has worked well for some time but has two issues, there is no consistency over suspensions and old warnings are never removed. A solution to both has now been implemented.
Suspensions
After a set number of warnings a user will have their posting automatically suspended based on the below:
- 20% - 2 days
- 40% - 10 days
- 60% - 15 days
- 80% - 30 days
- 100% - Permanent Ban
After a member has been 90 days without a warning increase their warning level will be reduced by 10%. This will continue every 90 days until either they have no warning or their warn level is increased and the cycle will start again. You will know if your warning has been automatically reduced as there will be a note in your warning system. This system will start processing warning removals midnight tonight :D

BuzzJack has been around for nearly 8 years and for most of this time Jester has been an Admin. It goes without saying the gratitude I have for someone who has led the site through many changing waters and has always given his best. His focus has always been in the chart section which BuzzJack is so well known for and due to time commitments we have both agreed that Jester will move into a Chart Mod role. This will still allow him to dedicate his time to the chart while not having the additional duties and responsibilities of an Admin.
THANK YOU Matt for the good times, for keeping things running and for being such a great person to have around the site :D

moderating is much more than just what the word suggests and involves actually running your small area of BuzzJack. This in turn means trying to get new members to join, making sure it makes sense to new people who join up and also everyone (including the mods) getting a piece of what they want from everything! Mods are in a great positions to drive that while also getting the satisfaction from the end result.
With all forums there will be things that can be changed but having an active main forum or AF is no small feat and takes many months of planning and building. As we grow we will offer more features to AF and MF mods but I have no problem with popularity, however it is attained. B&I might sometimes be repetitive but people keep coming back and not just taking part in them but also being active in other topics / parts of the forum. When the new site goes live and we work through having new content and exciting features this traffic will be important for us to organically grow!

hi phil,
it didn't work for me.
i deleted the message while i was actually in the message- you see usually, i'd delete by checking all the messages (the part at the top you can check all the messages), but today i thought it would be a change to try it from the actual message itself
so i pressed "delete this post", and yes, i still saw it in my inbox afterwards
i'm using the latest mazilla firefox version with windows 7
maybe you have some caching issue with your browser. When you return to the inbox after deleting the message can you press CTRL F9 and tell me if the message disappears?
-
if you are in the message and press the icon "Delete" it will delete the message and return to the inbox. Just checked and this works as expected.
If you are viewing all your messages and check the box by one or more and then scroll to the bottom of the page and select delete this will also delete the message(s) and return to the inbox. Also just checked and working as expected.
Can you advise what area you believe is not working? So after deleting the message you still see it in your inbox? If so what browser and operating system are you using?

86th Academy Awards
in Movies and Theatre
I thought the best actor and actress both in leading and supporting roles won! I saw all the movies and at first thought Leo was a shoe in for his part in Wolf of Wall Street wbut then watched Dallas Buyers Club and McConaughey and Leto took method acting to a whole new level, really exceptional... Sorry for Leo that he missed out again, not because his Titanic, Aviator, Blood Diamond and now Wolf of Wall Street movies were badly acted but he just came up against someone who was too good! I really liked 12 years a slave happy it took home best picture as it was thoroughly deserved, Brad Pitt by all accounts was instrumental in getting the film backed so credit to him for his part in that!
I was only going to watch the start, then thought it would finish about 4am and in the end slept at 5:30am
