yes could occasionally be a problem between about 5:30pm and 7pm on a Sunday due to the huge amounts of traffic we get during this slot. The server is literally having to handle 9 times more activity as people continually refresh and post updates on the chart. Apart from this time period there should never be any issues.

At what times/ days? I use Chrome and no problem, let me know what times and how often.

With the launch of the Reviews system we have changed the 'Editor' group to 'Editorial'. im going to have (on the main page) a tab to show last review posts as well as the one for comments that is there now. That will give all review posts some exposure!

exactly, the more thumb ups your review has then the higher up it will be!

not sure what we can do about this, it shows if there are additional review posts, maybe only show this tab when there are new reviews so people actively see a new tab?

thats the plan although this is a fairly big chunk of work so on the todo list ;). Im going to create tabs on the main page to show last comments and last review posts.

I have made it so that it now shows the additional number of Review posts on the tab. For comments I need to give this some thought, currently the reviews are ordered by the last Review Post added. So if someone comments on a review it does not bump the review to the top. Should we change this so it does bump it and people are then aware of the comment? This would bring it in line with the forum topics.

ok ive changed it so it now says "Rate the Single" or "Rate the Album". It might take some time for the perfect setup but let me know on any other problems and will get around to fixing them.

i wanted the rating to be for the actual single / album (not one persons interpretation of it). So the thumb up / down are your view on the peoples review posts and then rating is for how you rate the single/ album. If there was a rating for review posts as well as the thumbs this would duplicate?

cannot risk someone's account being hijacked and then being used for spam... when I have the reviews system bedded down I will be looking at ways to extend some of the normal member account functionality.

definitely want to integrate this more, working out the best way to do it after ive finished off a couple of other things and bug fixes.

fixed, also added Angels & Airwaves and assigned them to your review.

great, it will be easier tomorrow once I have transferred everything over to another setup so I can test these things out myself.

yes preview is important for some and I will add it in the next version. The link problem is a headache I tried to look at previously (as all our non forum system use it). Artist pages, front page news etc all have this same problem! YouTube tags should work: [youtube]VideoId[/youtube]

For as long as I can remember people have requested for a reviews system to be made on BuzzJack. I made it a commitment this year to develop and complete and thanks to everyone who has given feedback and critique during this time! will look at the front page box tomorrow. The bottom right link on the forum index and forum page (viewing a forum) are now play.com. Google has a limit of 3 ads per page but doesnt mind you having different ad providers (these are commision based)! I will do some more work on the iTunes feed after the first post for guests over the weekend. Incredibly hard and there is no real tool to make it easy!

agree. We should really optimise the database posts table every few months. Im going to look into this. Bed at 12am up at 5:30am was an unexpected surprise :lol:

All apologies for the downtime today. I have layed out below the root cause: This afternoon the datacenter that we have our server with had a power outage which immediately shut off power to BuzzJack. This locked and corrupted our database due to the immediate shutdown of our server. As people visited the site during the day the corrupted database was unable to display posts and topics and continually shut down under the strain and then restarted. We are now fully back with no loss of posts and another page added to the "BuzzJack Emergency Document"! This will ensure that if this ever happens again we have a step by step procedure to get us back online faster :). Thanks, Phil
