Gawdland is the definition of born to do drag, I’ve seldom seen such a natural spark and flair, everything she does she does with her own stamp and has bags of charisma doing it. There’s no excuses, no complaining the challenge isn’t something she wants to do, every time she has just given it 110%. Like that Snatch Game was by no means an accurate Cardi B, but I don’t care. She’s taken her weaknesses and is using them, like yeah she hasn’t necessarily got the fluency for something like Snatch Game but then that could be a wider discussion on the fact they probably shouldn’t even do Snatch Game for international seasons, she just attacked it anyway and made it funny however she could with her natural personality. That’s not easy to do, it’s so easy for queens to just give up or phone it in when something isn’t in their wheelhouse. Serena and Fontana for example I feel just lazily tried to appeal to Ru with obvious choices but didn’t do anything for them, and Minty made up a character which really should be easier when you can do anything, but did nothing with it. Look at Sminty, she made up a whole persona with a clear point of view for a fairy tale character and it did work. Sminty’s reminded me of the fairytale improv from AS7 and I think that kind of thing might be a good replacement for Snatch Game, you could be a celebrity or figure but you could make something up or use a character, but it drops the pretence that this is Snatch Game anymore given that people are doing Humpty Dumpty, The Grim Reaper, The Tooth Fairy and the bloody Eiffel Tower.

From this bunch I feel like Pythia will devour, there’s nobody to even remotely challenge her in design challenges and we know from GAS she can do comedy if she puts her hand to it. Performance is her only weakness really, I guess if the girls are strategic she could easily be a shock early out when she falls into the bottom for girl groups or a Rusical.

I think Kate is better off the show than on, her dry humour is fantastic in her own lane and she’s great at stand up and singing in her own shows, but that doesn’t always translate to the parameters of Drag Race. I do really like her but I do hope it’s not just another case of a fan fave being casted just to be set up to win. Of course we have the rest of a season to go but so far if she wins, it will feel like they really will only let UK queens win. But to be fair to her she hasn’t been handed wins or top placements, I think she’s been judged fairly so far other than maybe she could have been in the bottom last week over Minty but then so could Serena, and the actual bottom 2 were clearly the 2 worst. I do think a lot of the time, the more known/fan fave queens don’t relish the opportunity the way others do, like they know they are cast to do well. Look at the spark Gawdland has, how much Fontana wanted to stay, how hard Naomy has rammed into every challenge and result showed her personality. I want to see more of that from Kate, I mean a queen with a mind as witty as hers and she chose to do f***ing Humpty Dumpty for Snatch Game?
