Avani and Priya were both outstanding today, that was an excellent episode. Such an important thing to touch on and finally it’s making use of the younger cast in a way that is actually compelling.

Lana kind of wiped the floor with Sam in that lipsync?! For the second week in a row, Lana didn’t really deserve the bottom placement either, she did better than Suzie in the dance and better than Jewels in the storytelling, they just kind of went off track record and obviously Lana is the one without a win and 3 bottom placements prior to this episode. But it should always go on this challenge and the lipsync I think, otherwise what’s the point of a competition? Although I guess my opinion would change if it was someone I loved in Sam’s position, I just think that it should always come down to pretty much the episode. I think if the lipsync is close, fair enough go to track record, but when it wasn’t even close I think just go for the shock elim! Honestly it could have been Suzie and Sam anyway and I wonder what they would have done then. Suzie has such a weird edit, because they care about her enough to make a storyline out of her being a front runner they’re all jealous of but they’ve not really given her the track record to be the queen they’re all thinking she is? Sam was flat out the worst and her runway didn’t fit the prompt at all as it was absolutely stunning I think she takes herself far too seriously in drag, I find her personality so warm and joyous on the show but then when she does a runway or challenge performance, it’s just too polished, too serious, she can do a character just fine as shown by last week and Snatch Game but when she’s herself in drag it’s just not there, I just want her to let go of this polished pageant vibe, more of her out of drag personality needs to seep into her drag a bit and I’d warm to her more.

I absolutely love her run bc she went from giving nothing to using like 4 episodes of her run to absolutely demolish and make her mark to be such a perfect All Stars candidate, we’ve not really seen anything like that especially with such a strong win as her only top placement. Like I said I do think she will win the Lala too, obv depends on the songs but if we look at the lipsyncs this season I’m not sure who would really threaten Lydia, maybe Lana at her best with the right songs. Speaking of, songs for the Lala include Liza With A Z, Blow Me (One Last Kiss) and Training Season.

Oh yeah I forgot that was coming up, if Joel met him on a bender and was off his face and something happened, it makes sense that he has a hazy memory of potentially meeting him before as he seemed to almost recognise him. I have to say I also hate this human trafficking story, I think they did quite well with making Grace feel human, like a well rounded character who made sense to be back, and now she’s shoving essentially her niece who had confided in her about abuse into sex slavery?! Isabelle Smith is of course incredible, but nobody needs to see Frankie go through even more trauma. I suppose that’s the point, Grace built a relationship with her so it hits harder, but idk. People have been saying Grace is a double agent and will bring the ring down but I don’t think so, she is exploiting teenagers even if she was and it’s kind of irredeemable for a character that had a really good development arc. I know she’s always been a criminal/gangster and killed people but this just feels like there is no way back. I kind of feel like they are going to have Rex be the hero to set up his redemption arc and then this can only really lead to an exit for Grace.

Bernie will easily be going, I’m surprised she’s lasted this long. Mo I think is fine, she’s older, she’s gonna be just more of a background, Freddie you barely even see and he could easily go, I could see the actor wanting to leave pretty soon anyway and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was in the works and that’s why he’s all but vanished, hopefully Little Mo can come back for his exit so that at least gives something. They could easily get rid of Anna too, Gina I think has more to give than her. I’d potentially go Junior, Penny, Callum, honestly maybe Zack as much as he’s got Sharon, he should/could have easily gone with Whitney.

So he’s obsessed with Joel not Leela, people are saying they may be brothers but not sure how that would work. Yet again secret Warren love child? As he can’t be Marie’s since he appears to be between Joel and Abe’s age. Maybe it’s just like a random stalker for Joel and he is just obsessed and in love with him or something idk, but there’s always something more with Hollyoaks.

The odds dropping is kind of dramatic, this is exactly what the song was always going to be from a Louane Eurovision entry tbh, I do think it was always going to backfire a bit with so much hype, being the last song and revealed with such fanfare in this way Studio version is gorgeous btw, definitely loving this.

The song is called Maman, it just premiered with a live performance during the half time of a France vs Scotland Six Nations game. This is absolutely walking the jury I think, not totally sold on it as an all out winner despite France and myself in my head hyping it up so much lol, but she sounded incredible so I can’t wait to hear the studio version and to see what she does with it live in the actual competition. I think Bara Bada Bastu still wins but a ballad this strong in a year with a lot of songs that feel like televote bait, I’m absolutely not ruling this out.

It makes sense that she ate this run too now, like she was so “almost there” this season and just needed to apply her wicked wonderful mind to the challenges properly, it’s just sometimes her ideas got lost. And coming fresh off of being a lipsync assassin, getting a win, and going back, when all she really needed was to believe in herself, it feels like perfect timing for her momentum. I’m really rooting for her to make the finale but I do worry Snatch Game and talent which are rumoured to be the next challenges are pretty much the two worst for her to face.

The way Lydia had to have a wardrobe malfunction to lose a lipsync, she’s highkey got the Lalaparuza in the bag. Howeverrr I wouldn’t even have put Lana in the bottom, Jewels was definitely worse (and probably the worst of them all) and I don’t think Lydia was thaaat bad, but probably the second worst after Jewels sadly and there was no way she was staying after that lipsync sadly. I suppose it was pretty close and Jewels’ runway clinched it over Lana but I think Lana did fine just not as well as Onya who obviously ran away with the challenge. I am gutted for Lydia, she is one of the best performers in recent memory and she would have won even without being able to move much had she just not done that scissors stunt 😭 Ross should have been eliminated after that though, Christ. He should never be allowed to critique acting or comedy ever again…

Apparently the other queens at Arrietty’s home bar were relieved she got on Drag Race so she wouldn’t be there for a while because she’s known to be nasty 💀
