If we are to assume that Makayla and Virgo have worse TRs by episode 6, Perla already has her win, Minhi has the two design challenges… I think Helena may win girl groups which kind of sets her as the frontrunner, she’s done well at everything so far. Then I would assume Xana wins Snatch Game as I can’t imagine this being a particularly strong bunch at improv comedy (as usual with Canada) so Xana could have a vaguely good impression up her sleeve and be a Synthia Kiss type random Snatch win. Her and Perla must be on the top for the next few episodes to have better TRs than Makayla and Virgo. I thought Perla would win Snatch Game given her MTQ saying she could do voices but I highly doubt she’d be cut at 6th with 2 wins. Then Makayla wins the Rusical, I think her or Helena could win either this or girl groups. Makayla not winning GG is wild if she doesn’t, maybe it’s a weird themed one or something. The top 2 being in the top 3 times out of 8 episodes and one of them not placing above safe after episode 3 is crazy!! I am lowkey fascinated by Minhi Wang bc she’s so camp negative charisma 5th place with one questionable comedy win coded but she dominates the look challenges?!

Virgo winning this is probably the most undeserved challenge win since Pink Chadora winning a choreo challenge for eating bread :lol: I thought Helena easily had the best lipsync of the night, Perla was nowhere near the worst, her and Sanjina was the one that either queen could have won but I would have given it to Perla? Sanjina did a bit too much and it was at times a bit offputting. Virgo was good but it was just a basic bog standard pop girlie performance, Hellena had something unique and really showed who she is as a performer. Helena and Perla are great performers, rounded and nuanced and tackled their songs in a way you wouldn’t expect but really worked. Canada is always great with trying new things but I didn’t like this format at all. It would have been fine if it was judged individually or a bracket tournament, there was no need to do it in teams and Minhi who frankly had by far the worst lipsync was safe. Tiffany I don’t think could have done much in this competition so is no real loss but she was cute. Could’ve been something like: WIN Helena HIGH Makayla, Perla LOW Jaylene BTM2 Tiffany, Minhi

Ep3 is slightly different but same winner and bottom 2 WIN Virgo HIGH Hellena, Sanjina SAFE Minhi, Uma, Makayla, Xana BEAVER Jaylene BTM Perla, Tiffany Lipsync song for them is Hot by Avril Lavigne The format is weird, so team one is Hellena, Virgo, Sanjina, Xana and Minhi, Xana and Minhi are “saved” because they’re on a team and 3/5 of them won a lipsync even though Makayla and Uma beat them.

Apparently Makayla and Virgo both end up with two bottoms by episode 6 and have the worst or among the worst TRs :lol: I love Canada’s commitment to f***ass TRs, I think Minhi never places below safe and Helena only once but they both lose, the finale is another Rumix type thing though and after Go Off Queen I can see how Minhi would flop that. Jaylene is doing so well I think she’ll be quite a shock elim, but it seems like she is in the bottom with Makayla for Snatch Game.

Yeah I agree! So many seasons of Drag Race has that weird storyline, France did the same although the queen who won didn’t do well at the start or end they were cunty af but just had a f*** ass TR with no wins :lol: And that’s fine, there’s very very rarely a queen who doesn’t deserve to win at ALL but narratively it was a bit of a damp ending to the season when La Voix had perfect momentum going into the finale and such a winning edit. By no means is Kyran a winner the level of Le Filip or Alexa from Mexico (no shade to those bc I was ELATED at the latter especially) but it did feel like a damp squib after the run La Voix had the past few episodes. It’s kind of similar to Krystal in S3 in a way but Kyran did well the whole time and also Krystal kind of won bc Ella was insufferable and Kitty just wasn’t there, but similarly it narratively made no sense given Krystal’s run. They feasibly could have given any of the other 3 finalists the Rusical and made it a little more even if they wanted to, but it felt like La Voix couldn’t lose then… she just did. The season was so good it didn’t ruin it at all, I still just feel disappointed by the season ending the way it did regardless of how much I did enjoy Kyran.

It’s Oh So Quiet is actually because it was a fan vote for the tracklist but she does hate it too, she feels that it doesn’t represent her and is a bit novelty, I can imagine it’s frustrating for something so far removed from who you are to be the song everyone knows you for. As a big Bjork fan I actually love it but I can see why others don’t and why she isn’t keen. Madonna I believe kind of hates Holiday and Like A Virgin, but she did perform them both on tour recently. I guess them being her first two really big hits, she’s sang them for 40+ years at this point and you probably would be fed up of them :lol:

Lazy Susan has kind of fell off :lol: Idk like she absolutely destroyed the first two episodes and felt so fresh and unique, in a different league to the others, now she has just played it so safe and kind of dull for 3 episodes now. By contrast Vybe who I started off not being keen on at all has really come into her own.

It’s weird for me because she is the kind of queen I like, but I just don’t think she had the run for it this time around. Her only real big standout moment for me was the talent show week 1 then she did do well at most things, if not everything bar the roast and maybe the chat show improv, for me but La Voix outstripped her most weeks. Even the acting challenge she won, I think Rileasa should have won that and La Voix was about the same level as Kyran. I did love her Snatch Game which I know people are a bit less agreeable to though. If anything Marmalade is on about the same level for me, and she gives vTW or Al Stars winner moreso. I think they wanted someone different to win rather than another campy queen or cabaret queen, and Kyran was always going to win, but I do think La Voix is different enough in that she is very much proper classic drag. It’s not her fault they keep crowing campy cabaret queens, and any case I think Kyran still has that campy touch and a sense of humour that’s very much UK drag. If they wanted a diverse winners’ circle they shouldn’t have pulled the f*** out of Tayce and Dakota because both of those could have feasibly won if they just gave them their flowers a bit I believe. Idk just any other season I’d be happy with Kyran winning but La Voix is in my opinion the best queen in all 6 seasons of DRUK and it feels so wrong she hasn’t got a crown. Hate to say this and again I don’t want to take anything away from Kyran but La Voix is the winner of people who like DRAG and Kyran is the winner of people who just like Drag RACE 🤐

I have to say I am a bit disappointed, I love Kyran but I thought La Voix was the clear winner of the season. I thought Kyran’s TR was a bit inflated, but she is a great queen and something different for the UK winners’ circle, I think that’s maybe why she won. I hate finales though ngl I kept skipping through because I just wanted to see who won :lol:

I can’t believe this of all franchises had the girls absolutely destroying a design challenge, I think Max or even Brenda could have been top for a lot of others design challenges (bar Brenda’s reveal flop) and Vybe or Nikita absolutely could have won any other season but Mandy completely devoured, it’s insane she made that under timed conditions in the workroom.

I’m assuming BBC have dropped it or WOW took it back, I watched it on YouTube as it just came up for me and I know they always show premieres so didn’t think of it but it is odd it’s not on BBC! These verses in the challenge were… a struggle bus :lol: Minhi’s was nearly Karen From Finance level but Uma, Tara, Xana and Perla were all varying levels of cringe, but I kind of stanned how awful some of these verses were. Makayla cleared as expected, I also thought she won the lipsync tbh as Virgo was doing a little too much. I can see why Virgo was top 2 as she was a highlight of the episode but I don’t think she was the best in any of the 3 categories, it was kind of a case of her being clear second best in the main part (the music video) so they kinda had to give her a rose. Also adore Jaylene and Helena did very well in the music video too!

I initially was disappointed at DG being there then realised there’s about 10 Christmas songs ahead and most of a Kendrick Lamar album so in chart terms it’s probably coming up on top 15 or so?

I found it kind of insane because they always say you can’t go too far in a roast, just go for it, and they tell queens who shy away from those jokes they didn’t go far enough, but then Michelle gets offended at one joke so they act like it was all bad. Any other roast/stand up in UK Drag Race history, Marmalade would have won, but La Voix was next level.

I think this will win over even sceptics of the musical, Cynthia and Ariana both breathe total new life into characters that are such big shoes to fill. It’s so easy to just fall into the hallmarks of each character but I feel like they’ve both really made it theirs whilst honouring the previous depictions. I think on stage you don’t have the same space for the character to breathe so there’s less chance to flesh them out, like Ariana brings this almost selfish vibe to Glinda, it’s a rounded portrayal it’s not just another ditzy blonde popular girl. You get flashes of that in the musical, but I really get the sense here that Ari has lived and breathed this character and interpreted it for herself, she’s just not doing a cute cosplay and singing some songs. And love that Cynthia makes Elphaba a guarded know it all with vulnerability, she just wanted someone to understand her, you can see the layers break down as her walls come down. The extra time to flesh out the characters on screen really does wonders for everything that I know people at times found rushed or underdeveloped with the stage show, as I feel like one of the things I’m not as keen on is they don’t explain the relationship enough or show it build, whereas here you see all that and have much more of a connection.

Part 1 is actually longer than the musical :lol: But honestly the time flies by, I remember thinking of the order of the soundtrack and it felt like the songs were coming in quick and I thought maybe there would be a while without a song, but it was just that the film was so engaging and engrossing time absolutely whizzed by! I hate long movies and often get bored and feel like they’re bloated or overstay their welcome, but I can’t think of anything I’d cut here. With the way they’ve expanded on the characters and particularly the relationships between them compared to the musical there is no way they could have just done one part and still kept the chemistry and interactions that are at the heart of what elevates the show to the level of a Hollywood blockbuster. The friendship between Glinda and Elphaba is explored more, Boq and especially Fiyero feel more fleshed out, it builds a world a bit more which I don’t think they could have done with just one film. It would have felt rushed and I think spitting it also gives it a reason to exist beyond just rehashing the musical, it expands upon it. Of course it’s also capitalism, but the two parts and runtime make sense.
