Watched this late morning and it was absolutely everything!! The time flies by, when they initially announced it was being split into two movies I wasn’t sure it was needed, but it absolutely is. It doesn’t feel like nearly 3 hours at all, and the extra time I feel makes the friendship more impactful and gives the story even more of an emotional weight, especially with the insane chemsiry of Ari with Cynthia and Jonathan Bailey with… everyone :lol: Everything I hoped for and more.

Also apparently Defying Gravity and Popular will both be pushed as singles, not surprising as the two biggest songs and one for each character/actress, I think DG would need a radio edit for streaming though as it’s even longer than the original and has bits of dialogue, but then that was the case with the original and it is the centrepiece of the whole movie. Idk, obviously doesn’t matter how it does really but it will be interesting to see how it all does on streaming given the insane hype around the film and the marketing if they’re pushing the songs too;

Sobbing my heart out at Defying Gravity obv but I absolutely LOVE what they’ve done with Popular too, Ari sounds absolutely increidble and *that* line in What Is This Feeling!!! *.*

I will never not be obsessed with Elaine, she is so deeply camp like she’s awful but that’s kind of the point and I agree this week’s events definitely explain it all

Not fast enough I fear

I love Kyran and was team Kyran at the start but after the past few episodes I am fully team La Voix! She just might be the strongest queen in all 6 seasons, she is just such a consummate professional but so magnetic and charismatic and wonderful, she’s not just some cold seasoned queen who does the motions. I absolutely adore Marmalade too, I feel like she could have won the last 3 seasons if she was on those and is unlucky to be up against Kyran and La Voix.

Unnormalise 5am releases :drama: I might try and hold off on The Wizard and I which is my other fave after Defying Gravity (except my ultimate fave No Good Deed which isn’t until part 2), so I’ve got one song as a surprise, especially as it feels like we’ve heard less of it than Defying Gravity or Popular, but I don’t think I can hold off listening to Defying Gravity :lol:

I’m going late morning tomorrow and I’m torn between staying up til midnight for the soundtrack (or is it a 5am release ie midnight US time, I feel like it will) and waiting to hear the songs for the first time in the movie, I think i will end up hammering it on the way there anyway :lol:

If Sara Forever does this I just know her run is going to make Sethlas on España AS look like Antonina Nutshell’s run by comparison

Ari is just PERFECT as Glinda, and as a huge fan of Wicked the musical, the more clips I hear the more convinced I am. I went back to her singing The Wizard and I at the 15th anniversary thing and whilst it’s now one of her songs in the movie obviously, the difference is night and day. You can see how hard she’s worked, this is her dream and she’s truly become Glinda. Short of Kristin Chenoweth being Glinda again, I can’t think of anyone who could do Glinda this much justice and have the star power to anchor a huge Hollywood blockbuster at the same time. I absolutely love love love her trained voice like this, I’d be ecstatic if she continued with more Broadway type stuff, especially if she did an actual Broadway musical or even just more movie musicals. Can’t wait for the movie now, 6 days away!! Feels like I’ve waited so so long and it’s almost here. Popular seems to be getting a LOT of the hype so I wouldn’t be surprised if it took off over Defying Gravity even though that’s obviously the big known song from Wicked and the centrepiece. It will be interesting to see how streaming goes, I don’t expect musical songs to be HUGE but I think DG will initially be streamed more and then Popular will take over as everyone sees the movie.

Vybe was lowkey robbed for that Snatch Game, not mad at Brenda getting a win and she was smart with it but I wanted so much more from a Kath and Kim SG! That was such a short Snatch Game though and it didn’t do it much good being split into two groups either. It’s not like Snatch Game Of Love where it was about the format either, the format didn’t actually lend anything to it. Also I feel like Susan would have won again if she did one of her zany choices, I can’t fathom why she went for the most sterile one and did nothing with it. Honestly Karna at least tried something, I’d have had just Nikita and Max in the bottom personally, they were both awful and I’m sick of these made up characters. What do you mean TWO people brought Mrs Claus?!

They definitely need less intervention next time! Back to basics would be great. This cast was so good and naturally brought a lot of discord, conflict and drama, so it didn’t need it! Like I said I did dip in and out, Ali’s Palestine shirt being edited out, and truthfully this thread at times, soured it for me and I was at a point I didn’t even want to give ITV the views, but the vault twist thing for the final week was absolutely ridiculous and I didn’t like that every round of nominations was played with due to the HOH thing and save and replace. I think if they’re going to do that they need to go the full hog with it, maybe have the HOH nominate and the public vote or even fully a US format but maybe that’s just for a mini spin off series or something. I just don’t like them meddling with bits and pieces but not committing to the game side of it.

It’s just a passing comment about the state of society and why Ali’s win means something to us. You’re also watching this show so don’t act like you’re on some superior intellectual high ground :lol:

YAAAAASSS!! I bailed on this series and only watched on and off for the second half, but fully deserved. Main character of the season, such a different character for BB and a classic housemate for me, she felt like she’d fit in on a Channel 4 series and is exactly what I want from BB.

Can’t help but think with the vote opening up each time as each person goes their fans go to Marcello but I think Ali’s lead will have been so great it won’t come to anything, fingers crossed

If ever a normal season could have been non elim! Pretty much from Kiki onwards it’s been sad to see anyone go and every week multiple queens could have won. That was the best makeover ever on this show and one of the best episodes of Drag Race full stop across the entire pantheon of franchises. I think this might very well be the best season since the golden era of US 5 and 6, and this is as someone who often finds the UK series are a bit overhyped.

Yeah that was after the crash saga, to facilitate Chelsee’s maternity leave, whilst Nana just disappeared around all that, as far as I remember it wasn’t shown or even mentioned for a good few months :lol:

Yeah she does stay, it is annoying to see a queen of colour yet again be the 3 bottom finalist lipsync assassin, but tbh Rileasa has deserved her bottoms unlike Tayce

Honestly I’m kinda feeling it will go to Andre 3000 :lol: There’s all these big pop girls up and I just can’t help but think none of them will win, I think Billie/Chappell/Beyoncé/Charli will get smatterings elsewhere but will miss out on the big one. If it’s one of the girls I think Billie, after winning nothing for Happier Than Ever I can see this being a return to form for her and they go for her in a big way. I can definitely see Birds of a Feather getting at least SOTY or ROTY. I’d be very surprised if Beyoncé didn’t get 2 or 3 country awards, I’d like to see her win if not Charli/Chappell who are my first choices, I’d be happy with Billie too as Hit Me Hard and Soft is excellent.

It was January Nana McQueen last appeared around the crash, same as Myra, she was in it when Mercedes was in hospital for the crash and then just vanished, didn’t appear, wasn’t mentioned, then like 3 or 4 months later they just casually mentioned she was in Spain :lol:

Ali hopefully but I still don’t quite trust Marcello not winning, as Rob says I think I will never be optimistic since Helen beat Ashleigh, as close as that was it just feels way too easy for that to happen again and I worry that the polls etc are kind of the online more dedicated fans but the casuals and silent majority will go for Marcello D: However I suppose Ali staying all these times rather than being evicted shows she has the power to do it!
