As if Adam and Dane were planning an all guy alliance within legit two minutes of being in the house :rofl: I like this cast so far too, there seems a really good mix and you can already see potential for clashes, some drama and some decent players.

 

I would kind of have rather Damien went than Laura tbh, but I agree she was more for the drama. If she did stay and they went for a bigger threat first, she'd have only ended up blowing up and being 2nd or 3rd out if she was very lucky. My faves so far are probably Kyra, Keira and Eddie, Kailyn is emerging too from what I'm seeing on Twitter from feeds.

 

Cory could be interesting but I'm unsure, she was a better pick than Holly but talking that big on your VT rarely checks out :lol:

 

Adam and Dane are probably the sexiest BBCAN housemates ever. However, Dane needs to keep his teeth in. That was borderline offensive.

Yeah the performance was definitely off putting, the song is quite energetic and feels rebellious but the performance has absolutely nothing :lol: The song is nothing special though, I can't see it being a massive fave but it's alright in a borderline Q in my rankings sort of way

I thought Drag Race Thailand's 3 way lipsyncs were messy, I can't wait to see how a six-way lipsync goes...

This season is soooo good. I could have made a case for Vanjie, Scarlett, Shuga, Yvie and Plastique all to have won that challenge. Vanjie was kind of Valentina style "laughing at her not with her" but still hilarious, Scarlett and Yvie really shone together, Shuga was just hysterical and Plastique really broke through my expectations and wasn't afraid to make herself look silly, I was worried she'd just be a look queen (and what a look this week) but I'm actually really looking forward to what she's going to bring going forward.

 

Agreed on Silky, she wasn't so loud and obnoxious this week but her personality is still just very grating. Very egocentric, very overly assertive. And exactly, there is very little to back it up so far! Both challenges for her have been underwhelming af and this runway look wasn't exactly mindblowing either, I can barely remember it and I just finished watching like half an hour ago :lol:

 

Kahanna was giving me white girl who watched Drag Race a few times teas in that lipsync!!! She just had the lipsync cliches as if she knew she was losing and had to stuff it all in there. I didn't know Mercedes had it in her but slay *.*

 

Next week looks interesting, I liked the Bossy Rossy challenge last time!

Omg to think there were so many good rumours and we get some randomer off The Voice :lol: I do really like that though, I agree it does what Denmark is trying to do but better as she has a stronger voice and it's just got a bit more oomph.

I quite like that, it's quit Kate Miller-Heidke funnily enough. I agree it's not a smash or anything though and from how she was described, I expected more.

Ooh this is a bit of a bop *.* It reminds me a bit of All The Feels by Reinada but obv that's certainly no bad thing.

This season is definiely looking up with a decent super Saturday and a few internals really pulling it off!

This has grown on me but I still think it's being vastly overrated by Eurofans, particularly in its new revamped form which has brought it down a bit.

 

Poor Spain just can't get it right, it was looking like they maybe had a hit but I feel like this revamp kind of wrecked that.

EHC by MILES, The Last Time is one of her weakest songs and I don't hate Ed like everyone else seems to.

Way better than Belgium I agree! I think this will be one of those that grows on me with the performance and emerges through the actual Eurovision week.

The internal selections are really bringing it thank god!! This feels like a perfect contemporary hit but not in a trend chasing or lazy way, really impressed *.*

Ooh this is great! Very contemporary, probably my #3 so far behind Soldi and Replay but could creep up, I'm very impressed! I worry it might be a bit subtle for first listeners on the night but it's very much like something that could be a hit in the charts and that could equally work for it.

Omg this guy is so up himself and then gets unstuck on Spice Girls, please let him lose here :lol:

Akeria Chanel Davenport (inspired by Bebe Zahara Benet) - TOOT

I actually was really impressed with this, it's what Bebe *should* have been wearing on AS3 instead of the same leopard print eevry bloody week. It still has that signature Bebe jungle feel but it has a different kind of spark that I lobe.

 

 

Ariel Versace (inspired by Laganja Estranja) - TOOT

A soft toot, in one of those "it doesn't do anything wrong but I'm not excited" kind of way. I'm not sure if it really fits what I know of her style either, it's just like she saw Laganja and went for the obvious weed that you kind of have to use for her.

 

Brook Lynn Hytes (inspired by Detox) - TOOT

Incredible, very Detox but not in a copycat way, it also feels very Brook and it was probably the best melding of a Season 11 queen's style with the queen they got given. I can't fault a single part of this :wub:

 

Honey Davenport (inspired by BenDeLaCreme) - TOOT

Again, a soft toot that didn't do anything wrong but in terms of the way it's sewn, this is a bit off-putting. Maybe she's just not a great seamstress though and I guess that's fine, not everyone has to be.

 

Kahanna Montrese (inspired by Katya) - BOOT

I cannot that she legit has the same bra on as her entrance :rofl: With that in mind, she essentially stoned some tights and cut a bit of fabric to fit half her body, good lord.

 

Mercedes Iman Diamond (inspired by Bianca Del Rio) - TOOT

I don't think there was anything wrong with the actual outfit, at least not in terms of being bottom 3. It's cute enough, I think it does something slightly different with the signature Bianca style, but there's not a lot of stage presence and she didn't sell an ok outfit enough so it verged into bottom territory. Her make-up is kinda terrible again though as with her entrance, it looks like she ran out of one thing midway through getting ready so just painted half her face one way and the other half a different way :lol:

 

Nina West (inspired by Thorgy Thor) - BOOT

It'd probably be just about a toot without the scab looking things over it, I have no idea what possessed her to stick those all over it :rofl:

 

Plastique Tiara (inspired by Sasha Velour) - TOOT

On its own, a toot, she looks stunning as always. But it's practically the exact same as her promo and entrance looks, I hope she actually does have something else up her sleeve :lol: Maybe it's just a case of starting off with what she feels comfortable in before she wows us with something new.

 

Ra'Jah O'Hara (inspired by Kennedy Davenport) - BOOT

From the neck up, a toot but I really don't like this... Far too paegant, garish and glittered for me, it's all trying to shout and command attention but it just... doesn't.

 

Scarlett Envy (inspired by Violet Chachki) - TOOT

Like Brook, I feel Scarlett melded her and Violet's styles really well, that old Hollywood vibe crossed with Violet's fashion conscious thinking. This is so much more like it than her overthought but underbaked entrance look!

 

Shuga Cain (inspired by Sharon Needles) - TOOT

A quite different way to do Sharon Needles, but I really like it! From what we've seen, I think this is a great take on Sharon while staying true to her own style, it's the sort of colour and fabric you can see Sharon in with a signature Shuga style and the more I look at it, the more I really like it, the splash of pink makes all the difference and really completes the look.

 

Silky Ganache (inspired by Peppermint) - BOOT

In contrast, the more I look at this the more I dislike it :lol: I like the sequined skirt/sleeve combo but the top feels like an afterthought, the hair is flat and "look I'm holding a peppermint because it's Peppermint", really....

 

Soju (inspired by Kim Chi) - BOOT

It's such a shame because I adore this idea and if Kim Chi actually was doing it it'd be stunning but it was just a mess :( It wasn't even that it was shapeless in the way Miss Vanjie's was in last season's opening, it's more that it was so unfinished and chucked together and ended up having a lack of attention to detail in favour of a good idea.

 

Vanessa Vanjie Mateo (inspired by Valentina) - TOOT

Stunning, it's similar enough to her entrance to get a sense of style, but in adding that Valentina influence it's sufficiently different. The glitter could be a little too much but I think it completes the look and I'm obsessed with the matching hair and lipstick shade *.*

 

Yvie Oddly (inspired by Alaska) - TOOT

It's quite love or hate it, but I love this kind of Dragula-esque out there style! It's a little messy around the shoulders, and rough around the edges, but I feel like that's very Yvie and she works it, I love it.

 

Top toot: Brook Lynn Heights (followed by Vanjie and Shuga)

Soooo melodic, I love it :wub: This might overtake Play God as my fave so far!

Yeah 100%, like I've got a dark sense of humour to a ridiculous degree but that was just... not funny at all. That's Bianca's whole shtick and she owns it, but Silky always seems to be saying/doing what she knows will get attention.

 

I will never understand those who are so het up at AFAB/trans female drag queens either. It's a very closed minded view, drag should be open to everyone in my book, by nature it celebrates and allows expression of femininity. It's very outdated to just view drag as a man in a dress, of all people drag queens should not be the ones making divides and shutting people out, making drag "elite" if you don't fit a certain type. Drag Race Thailand opened up to AFAB/trans queens this season, there are two trans queens in the season's cast and one has won either the challenge or runway 5 out of 7 weeks so far, on the audition episode there was also an AFAB queen. If they work as hard and prove themselves, why shouldn't they be part of the show? For a decade, the show has moved with drag so I just think for what the show SHOULD represent, it's just plain outdated and short sighted to think like that. The show has for a decade moved with drag, so why not continue, it shouldn't stagnate. Of course with Ru at the helm, Silky won't have anything to worry about...

 

If it was one thing about Silky, I'd think meh maybe this person is out for some attention riding on the fact she's on Drag Race, but it just seems to be incessant. Her kinds of views and attitudes should not belong in a space like this.

Sooo much shit is coming out about Silky this week, idk if she will just get better, it's a real shame because she was my easy pre-season fave :(

 

For example:

 

- Apparently she has said a lot of transphobic things about trans women who do drag, and say them getting on Drag Race would be wrong and "like a handout" which would insult the fact Silky has "worked for it

- Has been in drama with Shea's boyfriend over being unprofessional and a diva over gig pay

- Was accused of sexual assault by a fan

- Joked that this season is going to "blow up" when mentioning Mercedes

I don't even think it's THAT similar to Fuego, like they have gone "female banger go on then" but it's not an exact copy or anything - best song so far either way *.*
