It has to be Sapphira to win for me, she has killed virtually everything bar the makeover and that’s only because she had to change the outfit on the fly. It will feel so so wrong for her not to have a crown, as much as I love Nymphia and have enjoyed Plane, Sapphira is on another level as the whole package and an all rounder. I actually think Nymphia might do it now though, this week was the perfect momentum going into the final especially after a lot of her criticisms have been what she nailed this week. She’s also an insane and unique from what I’ve seen online and she’s the only one we haven’t seen lipsync so I could so see her pulling off something crazy. I’d be happy with any of the 3 but I will be gutted if it’s not Sapphira, it is amazing to have a top 3 where any of them really could win though, that’s never really happened in a main series.

Bernie is iconic, it just goes to show how much a character can shine when they’re actually given something!

This season feels AI generated, right down to the fact that if you swap Eureka and Cheryl it’s pretty much the elimination order anyone would call too :lol:

 

I do love the top 6 though and I think they all have a lot of strengths so it should be a decent season. I think Canada vs the world is lowkey so unserious and knowing that so many queens said no and it delayed casting, I’ll take whatever form it’s in to see more of Alexis, Eureka, Fierce, and Lemon.

It would be ludicrous for it not to be Sapphira, Nymphia and Plane are great but I feel their All Stars material rather than necessarily a winner now over Sapphira who is the whole package. She’s faltered once this entire time at the makeover, and that was pretty much just because she had to change her outfit last minute!

Further to that point, the Snatch Game is a Rusical format this time! Not sure how that will work and the only ESL queen is gone by that time, as it’s episode 2, but I’m interested to see. I wonder if it will be like AS3 type Rusical where it’s singers but they pick their role instead? I guess the queens do submit their Snatch Game choices and they have to be approved so they could write something around that. It’s a fairer choice to ESL queens to be able to do that but this is actually a cast that would do pretty well on Snatch Game with Alexis and Eureka being top twice, Kennedy doing one of the best Snatch Games ever, Lemon being a clear second on her Snatch Game, even Cheryl and Fierce did alright and could easily do a little better and be in the top tbh.

 

Also Alexis and Fierce win the ball, and Lemon and Cheryl win girl groups, it will be amazing to see Cheryl get a win on her 3rd season!

I think Plane’s makeover partner won it for her, he gave it everything and really got into it more than the others, and that does count for the challenge for sure but it should mostly be the actual makeover aspect and Nymphia nailed that with the idea and execution. The critique about her yellow outfit I think was bullshit, if there is any challenge to show your brand it’s a makeover and she has ventured away from yellow plenty of times… Plane’s outfits were clean but really basic, which is fine, I get why she won in one way, but I definitely would have gone for Nymphia.

 

I thought Sapphira definitely won that lipsync, it was muted for sure but I love that kind of measured lipsync with light and shade, kind of similar to a Symone lipsync where it might not be the most flashy and filled with stunts or impactful but I just love that kind of lipsync, Morphine did great but we’ve seen that same lipsync from her before.

Imo both queens win on vTW/All Stars where they are called as the top 2, and they lipsync for “the power to give one of the bottom queens the chop”, not for the win. I do think it’s kind of “lesser” than a normal season win though, as there’s less queens and two chances to win, which is why it bothered me a bit when people were saying Drag Sethlas had the best run ever over Keiona :lol: And kind of why track record gays who go as far as using PPE scores drive me insane sometimes because I do think it’s completely different on a small All Stars or vTW season with 6-8 episodes and less queens and say Season 16 with 14 contestants and double the episodes.

 

Whereas say Morphine on the Season 16 political challenge or Daya Betty in Daytona Wind, they lipsync for the win as a little format twist so it doesn’t count as a win.

I think at the moment we've managed to achieve a good solution that satisfies both sides (with some feedback thankful for that, and some feedback pre-empting potential accidents that we can't really control). Those that have an interest in spoiler chat don't have to use spoiler tags (something that through site design is clumsy and awkward to work around on mobile), and those that don't want to see spoilers have a clear warning in topic titles that's visible wherever you are on the forum before actually clicking on a thread.

Agreed! I think anything more is more convoluted and cumbersome to the detriment of potential discussion within the threads

Does thst not exacerbate the problem by having twice as many spoiler threads? I guess a cast is barely a spoiler, and I know when it’s a UK season people will want to see if local queens or those on their wish list are on, but I still would argue the middle ground of clearly tagging them with block capital is fair enough. Or there could be one cast thread for all casting

Finally I can reveal that I knew the spoilers for this season.

 

Yeah, this was the worst for me. LGD slayed Tia stone dead in the first one. I haven't seen Tia have a single even passable lipsync this season to my taste so this was really a pretty bullshit ending for me.

The way I spent a year convinced I would hate this season bc I knew Tia was top 2 and didn’t like her on UK2, and I couldn’t fathom Hannah winning a lipsync against Marina. I was thinking up all these niche and campy songs they could use that would have Hannah winning :lol:

 

The most gutting fake spoiler was that LGD won Snatch Game and would have been the first to do it in two languages!

I wouldn’t say Tia doesn’t deserve it, but I’d be lying if I said she didn’t feel like a disappointing winner here. Marina was just so next level, killed basically everything bar Snatch Game and the roast (even then, she did decent enough considering the odds were stacked against her) and was by far the best performer and really grabbed this chance to show herself to the wider fanbase which is what Vs The World should be about. Hannah also had the momentum at the end and it kind of felt like she had a bit of a winner’s edit too. This just feels like they wanted to crown another UK girl, I feel like I’ve said it a lot this season but if that’s the case they should just have done UK All Stars. Tia did well at every challenge bar the dancing and talent show but I just don’t feel like her performance across the season stood out the same way as Marina. It feels like Vs The World is an easy crown for an already popular Ru girl and a “be thankful you got to be on a series people watched :)” for the others :lol:

 

Having said that, Tia did have a huge glow up and it’s amazing to see a black queen do this well on Drag Race UK after how they’ve been treated in the past on the show!

 

I did really enjoy this season though, last season was an absolute horror with probably the most underwhelming winner of all time and my least favourite winner worldwide (aside from the two obvious horrors), and none of them really gave a shit by the end so it was a chore for the last two episodes. Here the top 4 really shone, and in the end they all actually fought for it and have a great show.

They really over invested in Max Bowden’s Ben, he is by far the best of the Bens but they piled so many storylines onto one character in the space of a couple of years that it was impossible not to feel fed up with him. The character definitely needs a rest before they even think about a recast or bringing one of the old actors back, so a storyline like this I guess was a good idea to give them that option later down the line but not quite yet. It did just feel so rushed though, especially for a character they gave so much development and airtime to, I feel like Max must have royally pissed off production :lol:

I wouldn’t be totally opposed to that personally, that would make no odds to me and how I use the forum as Im on the spoiler Reddit and catch up with it all, but then you have people who might only want to see spoilers for say an All Stars series or a UK series, but not the main US franchise. That ends up stifling discussion within these threads because it limits it to the limited people who look at all spoilers. Frankly the forum can’t afford to stifle discussion like that when half the time people don’t even discuss episodes, they just rank the contestants each week in that thread :lol: If we say have one thread you could still say someone might accidentally click on it… To be fair, if it’s marked clearly with spoilers in block capitals and you still click on it that’s on you. Worst case scenario, first post is nearly always just the cast so you’re not being immediately spoiled on anything major? Idk I guess it’s easy for me to say when I am a spoilerina, but I don’t think it’s fair to stifle discussion when there is a clear middle ground.

 

I think having them clearly marked is the fairest middle ground. Like… I don’t see the point of, or aren’t interested in, a lot threads on the whole of Buzzjack because they’re not for me, but I just don’t click on them. And I think if it’s fair enough to clearly mark something so people don’t click on something that ruins a show for them because they don’t want spoilers.

I’m loving this project a lot more than I did with Renaissance, which I appreciated for being excellent musically but didn’t personally go back to much. I am a country fan anyway so I expected to enjoy this, but is sonically so rich and really pushes the boundaries of country in a way that very few artists do, much less seasoned country artists who often play it safe.

 

I do think it’s a bit bloated but I rarely listen to full albums repeatedly tbh, and there are a lot of great tracks from this project that would still make a great album for anyone else.

I get the sentiment that they could say more, they definitely could go further than that, but a lot of people are hounding the artists for this statement and honestly… what does that achieve? How does that help the cause, much less anyone in Palestine? These artists are under strict contract, it’s sadly not as simple as them just making a stand and withdrawing because their hands are tied by the broadcasters they are representing.

 

I mean for one there are artists who haven’t said anything at all on the matter, plus the energy people are using to barrage the likes of Olly and Bambie could be so much better used if directed to anything that actually raises awareness of, donates to, and directly helps Palestine.

I don’t see the problem at all if it has spoiler in massive block capitals next to the title, it couldn’t be any clearer

 

 

Thank god we can be rid of Ballum, they had 0 chemistry, they never made sense as a couple and the less said of their unhinged fanbase, the better :lol: What a pointless and muted exit, I think Max pissed off production and they just binned him quickly but in a way that leaves the door open for the character, no build up at all, it’s just odd for a character they invested so much in over the last few years to be gone so quickly.

 

Echoing the love for Priya, she’s such an exciting rising star for the show and at a time where it feels like they don’t know what to do with half the cast, they’ve got her so right.

I’ll post this here as well as the Global All Stars spoiler thread as I know not everyone will want to read those, it seems that GAS will air before AS9, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tease it when the S16 finale airs and we get the promo soon after but no word on that.

Season should be airing not long after S16, updated tea (as always take with a pinch of salt, untagged as per recent forum developments):

 

 

Top 2 of Alyssa and Kween, with the latter being the frontrunner, Alyssa only has one win and a more mediocre run

Kitty also does well, her and Nehellenia are top 4 also (variably rumours say all 4 lipsync to win, rather than there being a top 2)

Athena, Miranda, Vanity and Eva are the early outs

Tessa Testicle is 5th and does well!!

 

Less solid rumours:

Format is lipsync for your life, but the first two episodes are non elim. At episode 3 which is a Ball, the lowest ranked queen is eliminated, which is Athena

Kween has lots of wins/top 2s, potentially 4 or 5

There appears to potentially be a comeback episode or queen of the fame games lipsync tournament type thing, which either is won by Vanity or Soa

It appears that there is a top 2 for challenges but only one queen wins, unclear what happens with the rest but there are high queens too, it doesn’t appear to be lipsync for your legacy either

 

 

The format sounds weird but it’s exciting not knowing a lot about it and could be a good freshen up for the show as it’s a new branch of the franchise really.
