Looks like the rewrite is going to be allowed according to Israeli media :/ They’ve said they have reworked it into a song about someone “coming out of a personal crisis”. Obviously final say is the EBU but I would be really shocked if they said no at this point, KAN are maybe doing the “it will definitely be allowed” so they can play the victim if EBU say no but I don’t think they will at this point, which is worrying for the contest and it will certainly harm this edition, bring the whole thing into disrepute and affect the future of Eurovision.

They should have just had Whitney get a job away or something, and break up with Zac tbh, I don’t really see the point of them making her pregnant when she was leaving anyway too. If anything it’s marred Zac’s character with the way he’s behaved, just to give her an exit when it didn’t seem like they knew what they were doing. They could have easily naturally ran their course if Zac really wanted his own kid instead of fostering and that fractured their relationship. Idk it’s just a boring as f*** exit for Whitney and kind of ruins Zac’s character but leaves him behind in Walford.

Louis is vile, I don’t know how people can find him entertaining :lol: He’s not even camp or meme-y like say idk Ann Widdicombe being a panto villain, he’s just bitter to me. Him and Gary I can’t stand so far.

 

Ekin-Su is also disconcerting at best, I loved her on Love Island but everything she’s doing and saying seems so hyper calculated. You can see the cogs turning every time she opens her mouth.

Gen 5 supremacy, it really felt so fresh and exciting when Black and White first came out with it being a soft reboot and only having the Unova Pokémon, and then the sequels really perfected it all, expanding on the region and bringing back old favourites to make the game even better. The experience system is the only thing I really didn’t like as it made grinding impossibly tedious, but to be honest that’s a problem with all pre gen 6 games when you go back nowadays. I play rom hacks with quality of life improvements mostly for pre gen 6 games to be fair. Platinum and Emeralc were the games I spent the most time with and both are amazing, but I do think looking back that the Black and White era are the best.

It’s really giving like UK/Danish/other iffy country that doesn’t quite know what they’re doing’s delegation in 2017 or so going “this is so fun it’s really Eurovision!” And it comes 25th with 9 points, it’s a DNQ I feel lmao

I loved X and Y at the time but it hasn’t aged well, I think because it was the first mainline game in 3D there were teething problems so they kind of focused on that which left the world empty. It never felt very fleshed out, odd pacing and we didn’t get to know much about the region or lore, plus there was the least amount of new Pokémon ever. The third version that was cancelled would have probably helped with that. It certainly wasn’t bad by any means, but it was very much a nearly there type game that was missing too many things for it to fully thrive. However I did really like the region and a lot of the Pokémon we got that generation, plus some of the story, so it will be fun to see those bits fleshed out more and shine as I do have a soft spot for gen 6 as, whilst I’ve loved Pokémon all my life, it’s the first time I was part of online communities, hyping the release, and got involved with competitive online play.

 

I think similar about Legends Arceus tbh, enjoyed it at the time but I really don’t think it has replayability and I think if they don’t add to the gameplay it will be dull to have again. I do think this gen will have more of a battle focus which is definitely what I missed, given Megas are back, which is needed. I don’t think they could really get away with another game of just sneaking around catching Pokémon tbh. I think it’s quite a flexible format though, it made sense to not have many battles because Pokémon and people weren’t harmonious whereas with this it seems to be at the start of people living alongside Pokémon and maybe it will show the development of battles and more people being part of that world.

 

What does worry me is it being “entirely” in Lumiose, I know games like say GTA, Saints Row, Cyberpunk all have a mega city setting and it works, but for something like Pokémon where it’s all about different environments and the types of Pokémon you see in them, idk how it would work. Maybe as it seems to be futuristic, it could be kind of a biome type thing like the Blueberry Academy as part of fhe expansion and redevelopment, with th style of the trailer I could even see a VR world maybe where you catch Pokémon.

I'm so cautious with my money and especially before any rehearsals (infact, I think this is the first time I've ever made a bet before rehearsals) but I couldn't ignore this being sat at 11th favourite so wanted to have at least SOMETHING there. To win £26 for me right now would feel like the bloody lottery anyway xx

I’m usually the same as you with betting, my bias omg nothing can touch this feeling despite all the songs not being out and us seeing nothing of the live performance really took over :lol:

I'm not much of a betting man so people will probably laugh at my TENTATIVENESS but immediately after listening to it for the first time on Thursday, I put £1 on it to win at 25/1 and £1.50 each way at the same odds. So, I'm pretty thrilled to see the bookmakers waking up very slowly and it's now 4th favourite at 10/1 with the same bookies.

Same!! I got 40/1 each way though and I did £10, like minutes after it premiered before they went down I had to do it :lol: I’ve just got that gut winning feeling from it I got with the likes of Arcade that also kind of came out of nowhere.

Hugely hugely disappointing, the EBU putting money ahead of not just ethics and morality but the safety of everyone involved in the contest, it can’t be good for security for one. It’s putting such a dark cloud over this year’s contest, and Israel bottom line shouldn’t be given a platform and rewarded and uplifted for a genocide.

Nymphia was ROBBED. Q is a good seamstress and I get what they saw in her look, but it wasn’t really goth even in the presentation or makeup or anything. Sapphira’s didn’t really read goth either (though it was gorgeous) although the presentation and her makeup I think read correctly for the brief so it tied it together. I thought Morphine actually did well and should have been safe, I liked Plane’s look less tbh but it was a clear bottom 2.

 

 

The less said about the reaction to Mhi’ya I’ve seen today the better… Idc what anyone says, why is it when a white queen with a win or two goes home, the lipsync suddenly doesn’t matter and the fans are crying robbery. Plasma won 2 challenges and did ok at everything else, and people are acting like she was Sasha Colby :lol: I mean be for real, Plasma was not winning in a cast with Sapphira Cristal and Plane Jane. Mhi’ya absolutely destroyed that lipsync, best of the season.

I really think they need to retool Snatch Game, at least for seasons like this that frequently have ESL queens. It’s just really unfair on them to have to improvise and do an impression in their second language, and then queens who are native English speakers can skate by on a made up depiction of a historical figure. Maybe they could still do an impersonation challenge, but it could be something individual like they could choose to do a pop star performance or a monologue or something as an actress, that way they can still do something that’s a hallmark of Drag Race but in their own way with their talents.

 

If they aren’t going to level the playing field they may as well just do UK (and Canada) All Stars instead of inviting ESL queens for ostensibly another chance where they don’t always get a fair shot.

Just retire Snatch Game at this point… If RuPaul is even going round in the work room saying don’t bother with impersonation just be funny, and people are going to make up characters or do historical figures, it may as well be a normal improv challenge.

 

I don’t think La Grande Dame was THAT bad, she at least tried to do something and tried to do an impression and have some jokes. I think Choriza was worse personally. Hannah is the only one I found actually funny though, because it was just around and I feel like she really let go and let herself be stupid. Tia was fine and definitely the second best for me, Scarlet did solidly but not top 2 worthy. Gothy was absolutely horrific and honestly should have gone, Keta I think is out of her depth and not confident having to do all this in her second language, the absolute slayage she exhibited on Holland 2 (where she easily could have had 4 or 5 wins) isn’t here, but she at least fought to stay and has a spark. Gothy seems sweet and I’m glad she has had a second chance to show what she can do, but she is bombing virtually everything and just still isn’t there for me. I think she’s fine in her own lane just exploring her drag and doing what she wants, but she really can’t apply herself to… really anything that’s asked of you within the challenges of Drag Race. I feel sad to lose Keta when Gothy even gave up in the deliberations, I think Hannah may have picked her lipstick.

This kind of song can serve or tank on the night depending on performance and vocals, but from bits I’ve seen she can definitely pull that off! I do worry this could be a 20th in the final fan fave for the gays that just doesn’t gran the votes, but either way Austria has served again.

Very good entry, but it’s such a strong year. Just inside my top 10 so far, absolutely love the production! I think this could and will be a hit in the charts, but I don’t see it as a Eurovision smash. I think it’s a song people will like widely but it won’t be a big favourite to get those points on a wide scale. Either way, sending something by a successful artist that is representative of the UK industry and a song that will most likely be a chart bit is the right way for us to go about Eurovision, even if it did come 22nd we are showing off our music industry with an entry we can proud of and that needs to continue,
