Think top 5. Want top 20. It isn't a good song, but I like Rihanna and don't want her to flop.

iTunes Chart: September (I)
But there was a big deal about Germany overtaking the UK as the world's 3rd-largest music market? Either way, Y&I has only just started getting decent airplay in the UK, and there has been no promotion apart from the video. I think it'll climb.

iTunes Chart: September (I)
Germany is the second largest market behind the US in the western world. And, in Germany, Y&I has been climbing steadily into the top 30, so it is doing fine there considering TEOG is still huge. Also, Japan isn't involved in subscription based services. This is nothing to do with Gaga, who doesn't sell many physical singles in Japan. The high numbers you see per week are actual purchases. The official Japanese singles chart (Oricon) counts only physical CD sales. Each CD sale costs about as much as an album in the US. And people buy the singles in droves. This week's #1 sold 1.354million copies. South Korea has subscription based services. Japan does not, which is why it is a far bigger music market than the UK.

Massive airplay, awful chart position
I suppose a lot of the time radio support acts to promote the album, rather than singles.

The Monday Chart
May I ask, what are the album sales based on? Downloads, or downloads and physicals, or...?

Lady Gaga - Born This Way - Worldwide Album Chart Positions
No idea how many markets are yet to report, I have sites for quite a few of them, but we just have to wait for updates. A lot of the European countries will come in tomorrow, so we'll see! But from reading through different sites, I think Denmark and Italy are fairly certain #1s. Not sure about the rest though! Poland is #12 because it was only on sale in one store for the weekend. I'm expecting a great rise this week and, given how it has already gone Platinum there, a #1.
