I reckon if Treyc is bottom two this week she will go. I am *not* a fan of hers, but I think that Simon will go down the old 'the public don't seem to be getting you' road as his excuse...

Think: Treyc and Paije Want: Treyc and Belle Amie
  3. I would say that Cheryl and Dannii get their song choices right on the same amount of occasions. However, I say that remembering that Simon is partly responsible for Cheryl's song choices. He has previously admitted to 'helping' Cheryl quite a bit.
  4. I saw this debate on DS and decided to turn it into a poll to get a better idea of opinions. Personally, I would have to say Dannii for both. Cheryl seems to have a limited range of cliches and selects one for each contestant to use in judging their performance. I think Dannii gives constructive criticism and, rather than simply saying what they did wrong, offers advice on how to improve. As a mentor, Dannii seems to take much better care of her contestants. So far this year, most of her song choices have been spot-on and, unlike the other judges, she has actually paid attention to the themes of each week.

I didn't say it factually, I gave it as an opinion and it one that I am entitled to. Honestly, I think they should make better use of Aston as their lead vocalist, rather than giving verses to other members of the band who, to be honest, just aren't up to the standard required. Assumptions are, of course, going to be made about JLS, because their sound before the X Factor is one that no-one is familiar with. They could have won as many awards as Lady GaGa and no-one would care, because they've gone against that and changed their sound completely. Beat Again was a ridiculous song. In my opinion the worst number 1 of 2009 (apart from any charity single). Saying that the Wanted have no creative input is something that you cannot even begin to try and prove, because (well, apart from the fact that proving a negative can't be done) you know nothing about the band at the minute. No-one really does. They've released one good single that has been well received. Saying they have less creative input than JLS is pure rubbish, because we don't know how much the Wanted has, but recent evidence would suggest that JLS has been entirely manufactured since being signed to Syco and the Wanted sound as they always have done thus far; It would therefore seem that JLS have next to no creative input. Your argument, therefore, is proved to be irrelevant. As you said, however, we must wait until the Wanted have been around for longer. Perhaps they will have quite a lot of input in the future, or they could manage the impossible feat, which is having even less input than JLS.

I had to go for the Wanted. I'm not really a fan of them, but I think the All Time Low was a more than decent debut and I know that they can sing, as I have only see them do LIVE performances. The same cannot be said of JLS, who I have not seen singing live since their performances on the X Factor. To those who said JLS have a lot of chemistry... I disagree. When I see JLS, I see three men who are constantly trying to outshine the lead vocalist. I am sure that there has been more rivalry within the group than the public are aware of, since Simon said that Aston should sing lead vocals on the X Factor. Furthermore, it is clear to me that, after the release of The Club is Alive, which was utter tripe, that JLS have zero input into their music, which makes me see them as weak and irrelevant. There is no evidence (yet) that the Wanted are as easy to walk all over as JLS are, so I cannot say anything about them at the present time. On the whole, I see them both as being manufactured boybands. The problem is that one has released a good debut single, which got to number 1 of their own merit, while the other has yet to release a single that I like (or would even rate as a song, apart from perhaps One Shot, which was decent) and have had success driven entirely by the X Factor at first and then by an army of teenage girls.
  7. Emm... I don't recall anywhere in the post that you quoted the wish for Saturdays to go to number 1, rather they hoped for good sales. I hope they do go to number 1, however, if the GHASTLY Iron Maiden are releasing an album... Anything to stop them from reaching the top... :puke2:
  8. To be honest I'm much more excited about the performances than I was last year. No offence, but I didn't like the Janet Jackson tribute to Michael at all, I think it was a rather cheesy approach. That is merely my personal opinion, of course. 9. hahaa she better!! GAGA FTW
  10. perhaps they rushed it out to keep up with their '1 album per year' thing. although i thought BA and EIL were rubbish, i liked one shot (i am ashamed to say, hahaa), so i was expecting them to grow on me, by gradually releasing better songs that were more to my taste. but they've disappointed. also, is is just me, or are their videos becoming very 'same-y'?? i could believe that the record label pushed them into it, i don't particularly see them as an act with any input power. that all depends on whether the artist needs the label more than the label wants the artist... with some acts, like GaGa and Beyonce, the label would want to keep them and, if they left, they'd get another deal immediately. therefore, they would have as much input as they want. jls need the label more, so they have to listen to and do what they're told... i guess that's just how the industry works.
  11. we can only hope :):):):):) go
  12. oh no... for second album i predict sales of 300,000-500,000.

Anybody else a huge fan?? I love it!! Although now that there are only 2 of the original team left I don't know what direction they'll take... But filming for series 4 begins in January 2011... Excited??
  14. it was used in toy story :) probably helped by toy story 2 being on bbc1 on saturday night
  15. speaking of nominations, does anyone know around about when they will be announced??
  16. If this is in the wrong section, please move it, I just didn't know where else to put it... Sorry if I've been an idiot hahaa So, the MTV Video Music Awards are looming!! (Does anyone know approximately when the nominees are announced??) Does anyone have any opinions?? Personally, I can see a GaGa sweep when it comes to Effects/Art Direction/Sound etc. I think Telephone or Bad Romance has to win Video of the Year. Katy Perry could perhaps challenge for Best Female??
  17. hmm... i'm not getting all the britney hate. sure, some of her more recent material has been a little bit generic and boring, but she has had some fantastic tunes. everytime is a POP CLASSIC in my opinion. i don't think people hate on her because she's sold millions. i mean... why would they?? that would just be a tad jealous in my opinion. i can't see people taking that opinion. perhaps it's because, as a former FAN of britney, they too have been disappointed with songs such as 'womanizer' and '3'. just a thought... also, at the person who said kylie isn't talented... HA

Mary is brilliant!! I love her!! Completely agree with the poster who commented on the hippy weirdos with their mental son. She was meant to be an artist... Yet did you see what she had done to her house??!!
  20. I'm very upset that Katherine is leaving. What a fantastic actress. I really sided with her earlier in the series about the whole Katherine-vs-Susan-over-Mike thing (until, of course, she went mad, although, even at that stage, I still blamed Susan, hahaa). Oh, and at the mention of Bree's lapdance. Honestly, in my opinion, one of the funniest moments on TV that I have ever watched. Seriously. The most embarrassingly-awkward-yet-hilarious thing I've ever witnessed. I cried with laughter. I hope to see the main characters sign further contracts to take them to series 9 along with Marc Cherry, although Marcia Cross has already hinted that series 7 will be enough for her and Bree is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE... :( I agree with the poster who said series 6 has been the best in a long time. It really has. I thought series 5 dragged out a *litte* bit with the whole Dave storyline, but series 6 proved that the show isn't finished yet. In my opinion, the best since series 3 (which was my all-time favourite series :) ).

Did anyone else here watch the six-part series?? Personally, I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Perhaps it took a couple of weeks to get going but the two-part finale was, in my opinion, the finest piece of British television in a long time. It was gripping and had my whole family sitting on the edge of our seats. Ruth Wilson, additionally, was truly brilliant in her role and is an actress that Britain should be proud of. Alice Morgan turned into my favourite character in the series and, despite her crime in the first episode, was a real voice of reason and intelligence in John Luther's life. Some of the lines and phrases she had were truly magnificent!! Is there anyone else hoping for a second series??
