this song is huge... i mean the pure power of these two artists combined with an awesome song... =) remember that all of GaGa's songs, except Just Dance, have been climbers. Starting outside the Top 10 and working their way up. Very strong contender for #1

can't see this being as successful. remember the reason EIL got to number one...

would LOVE to see a number one for the saturdays... i think they definitely deserve it after the should-have-been-number-ones they had in 2009. i voted top 5 because i guess it depends on how well riverside holds out :puke2:

WOW at GaGa's HUGE lead!! She pretty much owns the British Charts... LOVE HER!!
  5. zeus says this won't be included in the 2009 total
  6. thank you for making sense of this lady gaga :):):):):) => she is also number one in the year end world chart :)
  7. ^^ right, so the chart that is announced tonight will be count towards 2009 YTD, as it is dated W/E 2nd Jan, but the chart announced next Sunday will not?? in other words, Poker Face is the UK's best-selling single of 2009??
  8. you are just so COMPLETELY wrong that i'm not even going to bother arguing... the RATM were number 1 week 51. joe will be number 1 week 52. 3 weeks of sales for joe will count for the YTD, meaning week 53 is also included in the 2009 YTD. what is so hard to understand about that??!!
  9. no, to count until 2nd january would be 53 weeks. that isn't being disputed. that is fact.
  10. that would give 2009 53 weeks, which is too much. plus, as stated above... the end of year chart, radio one, 27th december...
  11. take it up with wikipedia... from the 'poker face' page: Preceded by "Hallelujah" by Alexandra Burke Top selling single of the year (UK) 2009 Succeeded by incumbent from the 'hallelujah' page: Preceded by "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis Top selling single of the year (UK) (Alexandra Burke version) 2008 Succeeded by "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga from the 'top selling single of the year (UK)' page: 2009 "Poker Face" Lady Gaga
  12. on wikipedia poker face has already been listed as 2009's best-selling single
  13. simple answer, no. joe mcelderry will not have a number one single next christmas. i don't even know if he will have a number one single in 2010, unless he performs it on the x factor and the other celebrity act who performs on the same show as him is either 1) not releasing a single that week or 2) rubbish.
  14. lads, i think we're forgetting something... joe mcelderry isn't yet number 1. he shouldn't be included on that list until it's official
  15. Poker Face

I voted for Joe and #5. I don't see RATM selling the same amount as last week. Cheryl is falling on iTunes and, when you take X Factor and charity singles out of the equation, physical sales make up only 2% of the chart. Cheryl's CD will not give her any boost. IMO 3 Words is a bit of a flop... Rubbish song anyway...
  17. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Not having a Christmas Number One will give him a BREAKDOWN??!! He will be Number One next week easily!!
  18. I *HATE* this 'Joe DESERVES number one' attitude. Why?? Lady GaGa spent years singing in bars and clubs before she finally got her shot. Joe was spoon-fed with songs for weeks in a reality TV show. Who truly DESERVES a number one?? With major publicity and, let's face it, no challenges, Joe was given an easy route to the final... He never proved himself as an entertainer - a great singer, yes, but nothing exciting. You watch someone like Lady GaGa come on to the X Factor and, as well as easily being a better SINGER than Joe, she was also better ENTERTAINER by 100000000 times. No exaggeration (:P). Perhaps for the first year... The professionals have been much better than the contestants!!

^^ True. It has kept everyone in waiting and has shown the true colours of many... Joe wasn't such a 'nicey-nice' guy when he slagged off RATM, was he?? Simon Cowell's vain nature was amplified... Would LOVE to see Kirsty at Number 1 next year. Favourite Christmas song OF ALL TIME :D
  20. ^^ Post in RATM Discussion Forum
  21. She went Number 1 in 2008...
  22. Here lads... You may wish RATM to be banned because of multiple purchases. But consider... where is the proof?? Take a look at this: :D Quote: 'An official link with the UK Official Charts company has released a statement today that Joe's single in serious risk of being pulled from the charts. Photographic evidence of people buying multiple copies of the single could grant the single as being dropped from the charts all together. The UK Charts company take this issue very seriously and if enough evidence is found the single could even be canceled after the official chart show result. There are also reports that the X-Factor brand are in serious breach of the chart rules and have been sabotaging things to get their sales up.'
  23. ^^ start
  24. Lady GaGa - Poker Face 100 Lady GaGa - Just Dance 90 Tinchy Stryder - Number 1 80 Cascada - Evacuate the Dancefloor 70 La Roux - Bulletproof 60 Flo Rida - Right Round 50 Pixie Lott - Mama Do 40 Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling 30 Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You 20 Black Eyed Peas - Boom Boom Pow 10 Calvin Harris - I'm Not Alone -10
  25. The release date for this in the UK is 22nd February 2010. I think the sheer power of having two of the biggest stars in the world and easily the biggest of 2009 (Lady GaGa) will send it to number one in February. I have a feeling this will be bigger than Bad Romance. It could be the Poker Face of 2010!! I mean it charted at number 30 based on downloads of the album version alone - that is massive. Go GaGa!!
