Japanese Album Chart - Oricon
Lady Gaga debuts at #1 in the Oricon Japanese Album Chart with sales of 184,000. She is the first western solo artist to hit #1 on the chart since Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' in 2009 and the first western female to do so since Madonna's 'Hard Candy' in 2008. http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/rankmusic/88250/full

Lady Gaga album first week sales
Even still, if she does get anywhere near the YE #2, I'd be delighted. I mean 3 years in a row in unbelievable. She'll get that YE #1 eventually. Maybe not this year, maybe not next. But eventually :)

Lady Gaga album first week sales
I wouldn't be surprised if Gaga was ~130-150k next week. I mean this week probably went something like this: 94k 32k ~30k ~25k ~30k ~40k Giving ~250k for the week. I wouldn't be surprised if she sold around an average of 20-25k per day next week.

Don't forget, she just spent longer at #1 in the US with one song than she has ever spent with her other #1s combined...

I voted 200-250k from the very start :smoke:

Lady Gaga album first week sales
I don't think that's fair to say. Born This Way has been a huge hit everywhere and her album is set to do much better than The Fame was doing in 2009.

Lady Gaga album first week sales
What I don't understand is how certain haters can be so arrogant and not realise (despite being told many times) that the $0.99 deal was not Gaga's doing. Interscope sold the album to Amazon for $9 and Amazon decided to sell the album for $0.99 as a loss-leader to create hype and publicity for its improved MP3 service.

Sunday Chart Predictions
It's amazing how it's such a battle between Gaga and Adele. Probably now and then again at the Grammys. Although, I doubt either will win AOTY. Both have been huge, but Gaga is at 73/100 on Metacritic and Adele at 75/100. Kanye's latest has 94/100 :o I think he'll sweep up!

Sunday Chart Predictions
I think it could fall a bit during the week, but it will have weekend sales on Saturday.

Sunday Chart Predictions
I think a bit more than 240k. TT sold 235k in two days and went on to sell 523 (45% of their total in two days). If Lady Gaga sold 240k then 39% of her total would have been first day, which seems a bit high, and I think Progress was a much more frontloaded release than Born This Way.

Sunday Chart Predictions
Gaga! Who found the 94k figure?! Edit - found it on ukmix.

Love for Gaga, then :)

iTunes Chart: May 2011 (IV)
Well, that's what someone else I was talking to said, so I included a comparison of TFM, which has ~2800 views in its entire history.
-
iTunes Chart: May 2011 (IV)
Don't know how much this means, but... Born This Way (Bonus Track Version) got 1274 ratings on UK iTunes today, of which 1106 were 5*. Born This Way got 276 ratings on UK iTunes today, of which 247 were 5*. So in total, both versions got 1550 ratings on UK iTunes today, of which 1353 were 5*. I'm not sure if this is any indication of sales, but Adele has 3179 ratings in total, of which 2634 are 5*. TFM has 2797 ratings in total, of which 2366 are 5*. Do you think this could be any indication of sales?
