  1. sGpC5IvKaLA This was my lockdown song  I love everything about these lyrics/vibe/message and the groovy 70s clothes ^_^ I can't find it now but during lockdown I found a version by a group of New York musicians who all recorded a part of the song while socially distanced and then put it together on one track. In all of the covid darkness -that video had such a positive message.
  2. Also really nice to hear him talk about Jonny - if not by name but by reference.
  3. Watched this today -thank you for the link Tess ^_^ The venue looked amazing -what a beautiful building and amazing lighting effects. Robbie looked and sounded amazing. Powerful and confident. I didn't sense any nerves from him at the start -just a sense of wonderment how beautiful the setting and orchestra were. The orchestra were absolutely fantastic -it must have been amazing to hear that live in the hall. I really enjoyed listening to him talking and explaining about his life and having fun with the audience. That is his forte -he's so good at picking up on characters and has a lovely story telling style. ^_^ I thought Road to Mandalay was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL :yahoo: I listened to it three times just so I could hear the orchestral arrangement again. If Guy was responsible for that and indeed any of them - then he's amazing. Loved Millenium - my favourite song on the album, loved No Regrets, and Eternity. It was good to hear Bodies and I always enjoy She's The One and Angels. It was so good to see a mature performance with an amazing orchestra, hearing his stories and his candor on mental health. He really was two decades ahead of his time with some of these lyrics. I could honestly listen to him talking all night he's such an erudite and inspiring speaker. Good to see Steve Sidwell there again- looking exactly the same as he did 20 years ago :o Wouldn't it be nice if he could perform a duet of Eternity with Geri Halliwell/Horner?
  4. Each person will have their own opinion on it - I heard the same argument on the radio today when they were reporting on what the Head of FIFA said. Great Britain certainly has a lot to answer for historically as do a lot of other countries. Ultimately he'll do whatever he sees fit as always.
  5. Maybe too much time has passed now? What a missed opportunity -_-
  6. You're the Why is a very Beautiful song.
  7. and to publicly acknowledge how much she did for him is really lovely.
  8. Looking forward to watching this in total :cheer:

  10. I'm sure that gig will be amazing -the building looks iconic.
  11. Love Madness! They came to Epsom Racecourse a few years ago -we went to see them -they were great :cheer:
  12. I can't help but think that it's a mistake to perform in countries like Qatar - Rod Stewart has publicly come out this week to announce that he turned down £1m to perform there and I think he's right. That's my opinion but the fact is it's there and I shall enjoy watching England as always and rooting for them.
  13. Thanks Tess -it does sound like that could work -I shall give it a go ^_^
  14. So is that a record then to have performed in two consecutive World Cup finals?
  15. Yes -he's brought out a new album only a month ago elisabeth. ^_^ I've got songs of his on my Ipod from various albums over the years. My Dad was a big Neil Diamond fan so I grew up listening to his songs. My Dad also loved Johnny Cash so I know loads of his too. David Essex is great too.
  16. Thanks Tess -you can't buy a copy but I added it to my Amazon Music list. ^_^ Just trying to work out how I can get that onto my Ipod
  17. https://twitter.com/i/status/1591138324944650244 The beautiful girl Claire that Robbie dedicated She's The One to on Monday night describing what it meant to her as a sightless person for him to audio describe when he was singing to her. It was a lovely moment.
  18. Is there anywhere we can still buy UTR 1 does anyone know? I think I've said before I've lost my copy and really miss listening to those songs. Or can someone remind me please -you can get songs from youtube onto your Ipod can't you? How do I do that please?
  19. Gosh -my favourite artists are way back from the 1970's  but brought forward too. One of my favourites in Gilbert O'Sullivan because of his amazing colloquial, beautiful lyrics. He's still writing brilliant music well in his 70's and i have modern music of his too, not just the vintage stuff. I love Squeeze for exactly the same reason. My favourite genre is Soul Music - mainly from 1970s/80s - so I'd list Isley Brothers, Chilites, Detroit Spinners, Detroit Emeralds - I love the silky smoothness of the music, the positive lyrics. Also a big fan of Brian Wilson/Beachboys and the later stuff of Frankie Valli and Four Seasons. Of up to date artists I would say probably Bruno Mars. He never seems to release a bad song. I've always been a fan of interesting lyrics that touch me -hence the connection to RW.
  20. guyachambers Promotional photo for the first Lemon Trees album a million years ago.I was 28.#wannabe #90s Look at Guy here -great photo B-) I still think now Guy has great hair
  21. Looks like London to me Elisabeth
  22. I wonder how he can address it in the film though? I guess they have to allude to it not state it as fact.
