  1. Agree Tess -it's absolutely awful what has happened in LA. So much destruction.
  2. I can only speak for myself but his honesty and self awareness is a huge part of why I'm a fan. I appreciate his candidness and a lot of that is how he sees himself . If he were like the others, I would have moved on years ago. And @Elisabeth- don't forget he was the only artist last summer to sell.out Hyde Park. None of the others did. I think the trouble is, once his fans have seen the movie, nobody else wants to, because of his marmite affect. You either get him or you don't. As we know there is no halfway I too am wondering how he is taking the box office figures. Whether he is circumspect about it or devastated. We can be sure he will tell us. Completely off topic- I hope something comes of his self awareness. He could be such a good ambassador for a mental wellbeing charity. With his eloquency, he could add such a lot to the awareness and openness re mental health.
  3. Gosh -I've never heard this song before Alex :o
  4. Robbie Williams’ ‘Better Man’ struggles on opening weekend in US cinemas The film, which sees the singer depicted as a CGI chimpanzee, is proving to be a tough sell for US audiences https://www.nme.com/news/film/robbie-willia...cinemas-3828132
  5. I can remember going to the cinema to watch the Tallinn gig in Estonia 2013 and there were only about ten of us in the cinema. I did wonder if it would be like that again so have been measured in my expectations of how it was going to do financially. Personally I'm happy with the film Michael Gracey has made. If it didn't have all the CGI work -I'm not sure it would have been so positively received and I have loved reading the masses of positive reviews. I think the lack of viewing numbers probably reflects his level of popularity now. He has a lot of fans all over the world but it's not 2001. Once they have been to see it, those numbers aren't going to cut into a $110m budget. The budget does seem a bit ridiculous to me. :o I read (don't know if it's true) that Australia (Victoria) raised a lot of the money for the movie with a trade off of raising profiles and increased publicity for movie making in Victoria. I'm hoping the US numbers help it along a little, although I don't know how long it can run in theatres before they replace it. Only a few weeks I think. There's still more to come though -I feel it's a marathon not a sprint. See what the next few weeks reveal.
  6. It took £580K in US yesterday so that has bumped up the numbers a bit
  7. and I really like Millennium. it always gets such a good reaction too. It's a shame he dislikes it so much
  8. Even if the movie completely bombs in US, it has been fun (an interesting) gauging the American reaction and discussing it on here. :)
  9. I think TT would do really well in Las Vegas with their shows. Hope it happens for them.
  10. Awful scenes in LA - I've read the Santa Ana winds have slightly lessened - hope that will help massively. Such beautiful houses there, destroyed.
  11. It's still saying not a single person has seen it in Germany
  12. So my quick bit of maths -if he's made £100K on 6 theatres, he should do about £100m on 1,000 theatres? That sounds wildly optimistic but let's see how he does. ^_^
  13. What a beautiful family ^_^
  14. I've been reading quite a few threads on it on Reddit. It makes for quite depressing reading :arrr: There is a lot of ignorance regarding him on there but in fairness I get the impression most of the posters are young males, so not exactly his core audience.. They're very scathing. They gleefully post a lot about why the movie will bomb there and the European posters tell them how famous he is elsewhere and to get their heads out their arses. https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1h...better_man_yet/
  15. Haha - love this -converting them one at a time
