I've not been a fan of the Jodie era bar a few decent episodes, but the last Christmas special felt like a return to form, and so far the 1st episode of Flux was enjoyable. More of a world builder than anything else, but really entertaining, a few laughs, and a new villain who seems genuinely threatening, plus a few old favourites. This could be the best series of this era if it keeps up like this.

And base the song around two of their biggest, best known hits.

Never thought Glass Animals would ever make the top 75, never mind having a long-running top 40 hit. I'm guessing it's large resurgence has stopped its follow-up from reaching the chart.

I remember when "Alors On Danse" was first released they tried some English-language remixes that didn't get traction (Erik Hassle, Kanye West), but it was the original that went top 40. Looks like 10+ years later they've finally managed to do it with "Out Out".

Great to hear a little snippet of "Down at The Lah De Dah" by Daniel O'Donnell in the album chart. The absolutely baffling music video's starting to go viral.

This isn’t a bad song, although I do miss rock Coldplay.

Really enjoy “Tell Me Something Good”. It’s a great retro song, and it’s quite unusual for a dance song in that the drums don’t come in until halfway through the song (although I think the version they play on Radio 1 is different).

Now THIS is an improvement. “Seventeen Going Under” reminds me of The War on Drugs, which is a rather great thing.

Yep, the one act that we deserved to give more royalties to in 2021 is Right Said Fred. Not a good song.

Just let chaos rule. P*** off everyone and enter Morrissey.

“Inept Cabbage Head” is going to follow Bruce around for the rest of his career if he does continue managing, really shouldn’t have mentioned that, even if it was really said to him.

Cases per 100,000 in Northern Ireland are at a comparable rate to England and we still have a mask mandate, which would suggest that there’s something more than masks causing the spike. The obvious one is more gathering indoors due to a mix of colder weather, as well as the removal of other restrictions. I also think that the importance of good ventilation indoors in stopping the spread of COVID has been overlooked. The focus still seems to be on washing hands, even though now we realise that spreading on surfaces is much less likely than airborne transmission.

There's no doubt that Daniel O'Donnell being on track for one of the highest charting albums of his career has been boosted by the music video for the album's lead single, which, I say without a hint of irony, is the single greatest music video ever made. Someone gave Daniel the funny brownies again. Far-FyJs1jA

There were reports that a priest tried to give Amess, a practicing Catholic, his Last Rites at the scene, but was refused permission by the police. Whilst for those of you that are non-religious, or even for those who are not Catholic, this might seem like a trivial or matter of nothingness, for us Catholics it is quite shocking that the police denied Amess a Rite that is quite fundamental to our faith, and if it turns out to be true, then there will be questions to be asked of the police. Thankfully it looks like the perpetrator of this murder has been caught, and it looks like this is once again another terrorist murder of a serving MP.

David Amess has sadly died from his injuries.

Conservative MP David Amess has been stabbed whilst attending a meeting in his constituency in Leigh. It’s not clear the extent of his injuries yet, but it’s very troubling to see a public representative being attacked, especially given it’s been a few years since Jo Cox was killed in similar circumstances.

There's the likelihood on a by-election in Leicester East after MP Claudia Webbe (formerly Labour, now independent) was found guilty of threatening and harassing a woman. If she loses her appeal and is sentenced to more than a year, then she's automatically disbarred from being an MP. If it's less than a year (which is more likely), then there'll be a recall petition, which will trigger a by-election if 10% of the constituency sign the recall petition. Presuming that she doesn't resign of course. Labour won this seat with 50.8% of the vote in 2019, albeit with a reduced share from 2017, and their majority is only 6k. Interestingly, this isn't the first time the MP for this constituency could lose their seat in ignominious circumstances. Webbe's predecessor was one Keith Vaz.

Could Love in the Dark get a reset? Don’t think it ever charted.

Unfortunately it isn’t THAT Siouxie ie Siouxie Sioux of Siouxie & The Banshees/The Creatures. This isn’t a happy house.

Since I posted this six weeks ago I've now gone from needing to see 100 films to only needing to see 94 to complete the list. Also in that time there's been a few entries to the list - one I'd never heard of - "Z", a Greek film from the 1960s, and the new version of "Dune", even though it's not released widely yet, so I imagine it'll tumble out of the list once it's properly out there.
