  1. Vaccinations now open to 25-29 year olds in Northern Ireland, which will mean that by next week all my family will firmly be on the road to full protection.
  2. One for the straights there - Belgium through.
  3. What's with the Seven of Clubs playing card that Irish guy keeps showing to the camera?
  4. This one's a wee bit "Problem".
  5. Well, the one thing you can say about Ukraine's entry is that it doesn't sound like anything else in the contest.
  6. Well, there's some different instruments in Azerbaijan's song.
  7. Israel's entry is quite pleasant.
  8. Hooverphonic seem to be this year's "somewhat credible band booked for the wrong gig" act this year.
  9. Croatia's is the first entry that feels like it could be a hit sans-Eurovision.
  10. This one's a wee bit S&M-y, as directed by Clive Barker.
  11. Cyprus's entry is just "Bad Romance", ain't it?
  12. Yeah, don't think Ireland's getting through.
  13. Dear BBC, Please consider showing adverts just one time a year. During these segments in Eurovision semi-finals. Regards, B-B.
  14. Liking the Art of Noise-esque music stabs on this. That's about it.
  15. Not my favourite Swedish entry from recent years, but definitely demonstration that the Swedes take their entries seriously. Definitely going to qualify.
  16. I see the Vatican City's finally entered Eurovision at last...wait, it's just Slovenia.
  17. I cannot see us going back into lockdown, even with the rise on cases. The populations with the highest risk of death and long-term complications have now been vaccinated, with those in the younger categories less likely to have complications leading to the overwhelming of the health service, and with the way the rollout is going those in the younger categories will be vaccinated soon enough anyway.

As I've mentioned since the 2019 election, the realignment isn't between the north and south, but between the cities and the towns and villages, which is why we've been seeing not only Labour losing a lot of the old industrial towns, but the Tories losing seats in London, and with no chance of making breakthroughs in the cities where Labour hold a strong position, even in the North - I can't imagine many seats in Newcastle & Liverpool falling to the Tories.

There will be another by-election in a Labour marginal seat coming up. As Tracy Brabin is almost guaranteed to be elected mayor of West Yorkshire, her seat in Batley & Spen will be up for contention soon (a seat she inherited from the murdered MP Jo Cox). Her majority in 2019 was 3,500 , and in the local elections the Tories ran Labour close, so it is one that could be a toss-up, although I think the odds will be in Labour's favour this time around.
  20. I'm presuming that it's just a bit of false promise from the Tory ranks, but goodness, if Labour lose London...
  21. The Liberal Party candidate in Glasgow is having a normal one, I see - @1390646345728409600 As I've noted before, the Liberal Party should not be confused with the Liberal Democrat Party, because ofc.

Didn't expect the Tories to win an outright plurality of the votes, looks like that opinion poll was more on the money than I expected. The Great Realignment continues apace.

They've reduced the price of the download and they've had a Tim's Listening Party tonight, so they're definitely gunning for the Top 10.
  24. Given that everyone of my age seems to have taken bad reactions to the first dose of the AZ vaccine, I'm not surprised they're changing the guidance to over 40s for it. I'll still be getting a 2nd dose of it at the end of June.

Great to see Teenage Fanclub doing so well even after losing Gerard Love as a member/songwriter. Hopefully they'll stay top 20 by the end of the week. Also great to see an anime-related album in the album midweeks. "Neon Genesis Evangelion" is regarded as one of the greatest anime TV shows of all-time, and the soundtrack has had a vinyl release this week from the look of it.
