  1. Anyone know why Ursine Vulpine - Wicked Game is in the top 30?
  2. I think a small number of big stores in good locations will work. The issue with HMV was they had too many stores in too many high streets that catered to a market that had disappeared. A handful of these, big entertainment stores with live music, signing events and specialist sections can still be a success.
  3. Its just the power of Spotify playlists, Slade especially is not featured in any big ones apart from 1 well down the list.
  4. Post Malone debuting at over 400,000 streams and only getting to number 24 is quite something.

Ariana had a big boost at the start of the week on all platforms from the video and now that is dying down. She is still a big favourite but depends how much she falls this week and if Ronson/Miley keeps growing, it could be tight next week.

If Ariana had released the music video a week later she would probably be guaranteed the number one spot, she's got another 2 weeks at the top at least but not sure im something will pip her on the third.
  7. https://kworb.net/spotify/ The worldwide list is on the right.
  8. Just noticed that Queen are third most streamed act in the whole world atm. Weird to see but so deserved!

Because there is no obvious candidate atm. Even if a song drops now or a current song starts getting serious momentum, there are still weeks left for it to hold out. All it needs is a huge artist like Ed Sheeran to drop a new song on the Friday of Christmas week and it will be guaranteed the number one.
  10. Really? Thats crazy that the OCC would basically just guess figures for a certain day and not accurately count them.
  11. Does anyone know how many streams Out Of Their Heads by Take That is getting approximately each day?
  12. Agreed its stupid but the OCC seem to just make things up as they go along to fit their agenda. Thanks both.
  13. Does anyone know if Take That have any performances lined up to promote Out Of Their Heads?
  14. So any track older than 3 years, even if it recharts and grows its streams for several weeks can never get back to normal selling ratios?
  15. In terms of Christmas songs, how does a classic festive track get off ACR and back to a normal selling ratio?
  16. A lot of tracks on spotify debut highly because a lot of people listen to them on the "new music friday" playlist. They then will often fall down significantly as that track has yet to be added to other popular playlists. As the track is added to other playlists and gets more airtime through radio etc, more people will seek the track out on spotify and it will go back up the charts. Obviously if a huge artists drops a new track people will seek it out straight away and it will just debut highly and stay high straight away.
  17. Sainsburys have cut their range slightly but there is still a lot there. In my local supermarket, They have a top 100 range, a bay of classic cheaper CDs and a bay of classic and new release Vinyl albums. Supermarket CD sales are always quiet in the summer and then pick up come Christmas when the big name artists start releasing their new material.
  18. Are all versions of Perfect being counted as one track?
  19. Ed performing on Striclty this weekend in front of 12 million people will put paid to any hopes of Mariah or Wham! getting number one.
  20. Glad to see Palace by Sam Smith reach the top 50, its such a beautiful song.
  21. Id expect Xmas songs to flood the top 10, streaming figures are very low atm, only 3 tracks are over 300,000 right now.
  22. XF is still pretty much the best place to push a single now, nowhere near the level it was but still one of the best promotional shows. I'm not talking about those specific names but the calibre of those names. Little Mix are big but ive seen them perform live on tv shows or televised concerts maybe 6 or 7 times in the last 12 months, Stormzy has performed Blinded By Your Grace on several shows in the last couple of months, seeing them perform live isn't special or an event. They could have got Adele, Liam or Noel Gallagher, Coldplay etc, longshots I admit but you have to aim high.
  23. If you look at previous years the show got huge, international names like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Elton John, Paul McCartney etc. The names this year are on the whole nowhere near that calibre, some big, current names but not many long-term, huge, established acts.
  24. They are but watching them perform live is not a rarity or anything special. They have been on countless shows do various singles regularly for over 12 months now. Their fans are more than likely already going to be watching XF anyway. Getting an act like Madness to perform is going to be more beneficial as it will bring in their fans who probably aren't your typical XF viewer to watch them perform.
  25. Not necessarily, the Christmas songs will chart well regardless of ACR or not so they are mentioning a group of songs that will be top 40 regardless. This has always been the issue with ACR, its basically picking and choosing how the rule works, its not clear, consistent and unfairly penalises songs that are just very popular.
