Friday Chart Predictions
Game over then in both charts. Not surpised LadBaby is that far ahead but surprised Rod has pushed ahead on albums, I thought Stormzy would take at least one of the crowns.

Friday Chart Predictions
LadBaby will continue the momentum now as it will get more radio plays and more people plugging his track on TV/Radio. Really good battles in both singles and albums charts.

Friday Chart Predictions
Good numbers for Coldplay and Robbie. I expect Coldplay to drop a few spots next though, where as Robbie should stay there or there abouts as he's got good promo and his own ITV show in a couple of weeks.

Anyone know why Ursine Vulpine - Wicked Game is in the top 30?

HMV to open Europe's largest entertainment store- Birmingham
I think a small number of big stores in good locations will work. The issue with HMV was they had too many stores in too many high streets that catered to a market that had disappeared. A handful of these, big entertainment stores with live music, signing events and specialist sections can still be a success.

Friday Chart Predictions
I'm surprised at how well Westlife are streaming relative to other acts that have have been around that long in that genre. Admittidley they are only #100 but no other pop act from the early 2000s seem to even break the top 200 on Spotify.

Its just the power of Spotify playlists, Slade especially is not featured in any big ones apart from 1 well down the list.

Post Malone debuting at over 400,000 streams and only getting to number 24 is quite something.

Very disappointing for Little Mix, nowhere near even the top 10 on albums.

Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 27/12/2018
Amazing for LadBaby, the Christmas number one is still alive. Amused and bemused at the stan fans for Ava and Ariana that cant cope with a fun little, charity song being number one.

Friday Chart Predictions
Just shows you still need promo. Ava just needed one biggish TV performance in the last couple of weeks and she would have guaranteed #1. If Ariana had released the video for Thank You, Next a week later, she would still be #1.

How come Ladbaby has grown its lead on iTunes? Do we think he has a chance now?

Friday Chart Predictions
This is why there should be a sales chart and a streaming chart run separately. People can then decided between themselves which has more status.

Friday Chart Predictions
Yeh, the "official" chart is going to slip further and further down in people's thoughts due to the way it's run and rules are decided. Adding streaming with sales was always going to be tricky, they should have just done two official charts. Then you have stupid rules that a song could be number one but because its more than 3 years old it doesn't count the majority of it's streams or something. Its too complicated to the average person and Its not a true reflection of what is popular and more a chart to suit a few execs who have a biased viewpoint.

Has Rita Ora got that top 5 album yet?

UK Christmas Number 1, 2018
Ariana had a big boost at the start of the week on all platforms from the video and now that is dying down. She is still a big favourite but depends how much she falls this week and if Ronson/Miley keeps growing, it could be tight next week.

Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 13/12/2018
You just have 1 or 2 guests sing on all the tracks, many artists have done that for years and toured all over to big followings.

Top 100 Singles + Albums; W/E 13/12/2018
Clean Bandit have always seemed to be an act that release really strong tracks that chart very well but have very little fanbase that would go and see them live or buy an album.
-
UK Christmas Number 1, 2018
If Ariana had released the music video a week later she would probably be guaranteed the number one spot, she's got another 2 weeks at the top at least but not sure im something will pip her on the third.

I got an irate response when I supposedly compared TT and Rita, so just be careful!
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Yeh, they are definitely a bigger act than Rita in terms of fanbase and have more appeal across wider markets but there are also a lot of similarities. Little Mix sold 47,000 physical CDs last week with same sort of music Rita does (not saying Rita should/can get near that number) so there is the potential there for that sort of act to still sell CDs in good numbers.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Less so than an older act but should still be able to shift a lot of CDs. Little Mix sell a lot of physical copies and they release the same sort of music to the same sort of fanbase and have single chart success.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
But then that should help with Christmas gift sales as people looking for a CD to give to someone, there's a number of recognisable songs on the album already.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Rita continuing to disappoint. Already has 5 singles off the album and a current hit doing well and is a well known name and face, I don't know why more people aren't buying the album as Christmas gifts or streaming it.
