  1. Just noticed that Queen are third most streamed act in the whole world atm. Weird to see but so deserved!

I didn't make any attempt to deny Take That's sales are front-loaded but its hardly their fault they have a big, committed fanbase who will buy tour tickets at huge expense or pre-order the album in advance. I need to pick up the point about Rita's album picking up as she gets MORE single success. She's already 5 singles from the album, 4 of which went top 10. That's a lot of single success already which should be boosting the album now. I'm not sure why you have tried to make out I have said things I haven't but it just reaffirms my point, the number 1 album with nearly 90k sales and over 5 times more sales than the number 2 album is being talked down and more reasons/excuses being made as to why the number 6 album hasn't done better so far. Take from that what you will.

Exactly. People trying to do a huge sales down while trying to talk up or make excuses for other artists like Rita Ora selling very average at best numbers.

Because there is no obvious candidate atm. Even if a song drops now or a current song starts getting serious momentum, there are still weeks left for it to hold out. All it needs is a huge artist like Ed Sheeran to drop a new song on the Friday of Christmas week and it will be guaranteed the number one.
  5. Really? Thats crazy that the OCC would basically just guess figures for a certain day and not accurately count them.

How many potential Christmas Number One albums are still to be released?
  7. Does anyone know how many streams Out Of Their Heads by Take That is getting approximately each day?

I still think Little Mix will be number one this week, their streaming will overtake Buble who will be slightly more front loaded.

I understand this is a chart thread and forum but I think some people get too concerned about the difference between a number one and two nowadays. Many artists could get a number one but choose to release another week to maximise the push for Christmas based on their selling trends or promo available. Olly Murs/Little Mix/Michael Buble could have got guaranteed number ones if released 6 weeks ago but would probably be missing out on 100k sales each just for the sake of one number.

She will get another couple of weeks tops, her streams are consistently coming down and she's down #8 on iTunes now.
  11. Agreed its stupid but the OCC seem to just make things up as they go along to fit their agenda. Thanks both.
  12. Does anyone know if Take That have any performances lined up to promote Out Of Their Heads?
  13. So any track older than 3 years, even if it recharts and grows its streams for several weeks can never get back to normal selling ratios?
  14. In terms of Christmas songs, how does a classic festive track get off ACR and back to a normal selling ratio?
  15. A lot of tracks on spotify debut highly because a lot of people listen to them on the "new music friday" playlist. They then will often fall down significantly as that track has yet to be added to other popular playlists. As the track is added to other playlists and gets more airtime through radio etc, more people will seek the track out on spotify and it will go back up the charts. Obviously if a huge artists drops a new track people will seek it out straight away and it will just debut highly and stay high straight away.

Bit underwhelmed by Little Mix so far, I'd expected them to go straight in at number one but looking like they will be down to #5 by Friday.
  17. Sainsburys have cut their range slightly but there is still a lot there. In my local supermarket, They have a top 100 range, a bay of classic cheaper CDs and a bay of classic and new release Vinyl albums. Supermarket CD sales are always quiet in the summer and then pick up come Christmas when the big name artists start releasing their new material.

Hailee Steinfeld feat. Alesso, Florida Georgia Line & watt - Let Me Go has been around for ages. Be nice if it finally goes Top 40, I was enjoying months ago and was sort of over it before Xmas!
  19. Are all versions of Perfect being counted as one track?
  20. Ed performing on Striclty this weekend in front of 12 million people will put paid to any hopes of Mariah or Wham! getting number one.

If it wasn't for Ed Sheean re-releasing a single, Mariah Carey would be number one this week and probably Christmas number one next week, crazy times!
  22. Glad to see Palace by Sam Smith reach the top 50, its such a beautiful song.

So tracks have to increase by 50% from the previous week to go back to the full ratio for streaming?
  24. Id expect Xmas songs to flood the top 10, streaming figures are very low atm, only 3 tracks are over 300,000 right now.
  25. XF is still pretty much the best place to push a single now, nowhere near the level it was but still one of the best promotional shows. I'm not talking about those specific names but the calibre of those names. Little Mix are big but ive seen them perform live on tv shows or televised concerts maybe 6 or 7 times in the last 12 months, Stormzy has performed Blinded By Your Grace on several shows in the last couple of months, seeing them perform live isn't special or an event. They could have got Adele, Liam or Noel Gallagher, Coldplay etc, longshots I admit but you have to aim high.
