If you look at previous years the show got huge, international names like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Elton John, Paul McCartney etc. The names this year are on the whole nowhere near that calibre, some big, current names but not many long-term, huge, established acts.

They are but watching them perform live is not a rarity or anything special. They have been on countless shows do various singles regularly for over 12 months now. Their fans are more than likely already going to be watching XF anyway. Getting an act like Madness to perform is going to be more beneficial as it will bring in their fans who probably aren't your typical XF viewer to watch them perform.

Not necessarily, the Christmas songs will chart well regardless of ACR or not so they are mentioning a group of songs that will be top 40 regardless. This has always been the issue with ACR, its basically picking and choosing how the rule works, its not clear, consistent and unfairly penalises songs that are just very popular.

All a bit of a mess now with ACR and not knowing if the Christmas singles will be effected.

Halloween is factor consider, depends if it stops Havana's momentum or effects Rockstar more.

Good numbers for Liam Gallagher in his second week. Over 14,000 already, last week's number two only sold 12,000 in the whole week.

None of those albums were released this early though, Buble was another 2 weeks, Rod Stewart's 3 weeks and Kylie was mid-November. This just feel at least 2 weeks too early, were not even that close to Halloween yet. There is a danger that this album could debut very low and just get forgotten about, its too early and its not like Elvis is gonna do a few performances in November/December to build it back-up.

I think she will struggle. She will probably peak fairly high on iTunes but will drop fast and by the time her streaming hits moderate levels, the downloads will have dried up. I think the perception is that shes over hill now at 34, shes disappeared and had a baby. Her "fanbase" has moved on.

Very tough for any Christmas album to sell in early October. I'd expect it to start climbing once Halloween is out of the way but seems a mistake to release it so early in case it peters out.

Sales are horrific in both charts apart from LG.

Liam Gallagher always set for a big number one debut, I just hope it stays a consistent seller and stays around the top 10 for a while after this week.

Funny how she burst on the scene and was very big around 2011/2012 but then faded away very quickly barring Bang Bang which probably only sold so well because of Ariana and Nicki.

I'm not a huge fan of either of them but i've heard stories about Nicole being a diva by a couple of other celebs who aren't the sort of stir anything for no reason.

No one has said you cant enjoy it but just gets a bit samey if most of the thread is taken over by posters cheerleading a particular artist. Always good to have a wide range of opinions and different talking points.

I get what people are saying. I remember the days when Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna etc were all getting number ones on a regular basis and the general hysteria for female, solo artists on here.
