Friday Chart Predictions
Today will be telling in terms of how much streaming One Last Time gets and how many units it sells today. If it gets a huge boost in streams then it should be number one come Friday.

Quavo (ft Quavo) is such a great username. Bravo!

That's nonsense. If she put out better music then she would get more success. The three tracks that she has released this year have been far inferior to her previous work.

Katy Perry is really bombing in this era. Brought it on herself though.

If she gets back to making really good pop songs instead of taking her eye off the ball and stops with all the silly gimmicks then she can have more success.

I wouldn't say she was over but interest has waned in her hugely, which is partly her own making as I think artists that try and chase headlines wearing meat dresses and the like tend to do in the long-term. That being said, I think The Cure is a really, really good song.

There is little appetite for Bon Appetit and Katy Perry's comeback as a whole.

Friday Chart Predictions
I would have said Gaga would be outside the top 30 but she's holding up better than I though. Still don't see her breaking top 20 though.

Nice that Lady Gaga can be relevant again for a coupe of days.

Friday Chart Predictions
Egg on the faces of those who said Harry would run away with the #1 this week. I knew it would be close given how far behind on streams he is/was.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Well he will be number #1 today, its all about the size of his lead at this point.
-
iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 7th April 2017
I think that would only extend his run at the top anyway...
-
Friday Chart Predictions
Will all depend on the next couple of days, if Harry can maintain a healthy lead on iTunes and if streaming improves for him it will be #1. If his streaming doesn't improve much on his first day total then he's in trouble.

I don't think it will get anywhere near that high. It will fall like a stone and have very little streaming.

Friday Chart Predictions
Take That are performing on The One Show tomorrow night so that should help up hold up sales for the next week.
-
Friday Chart Predictions
I think Take That will hold up better than expected. They have a Graham Norton slot a week on Friday and their own ITV special the next night.

Friday Chart Predictions
It depends if Radio 1/Capital get behind them. There are many examples of artists under 30 with young fanbases struggling to achieve high peaks in the chart too.

Streaming | General Discussion
You can't make achievements null and void but it sadly does devalue any achievements from artists in pretty much the whole history of the chart.

Friday Chart Predictions
Agreed. There are plenty of acts with much younger fan bases that stream a lot and they have singles that struggle to breakthrough for weeks and weeks. Take That will need decent promo keep "Giants" hanging around but it's had a nice boost since the album was released anyway.

Will be Summer or Autumn 2019.

Dance Chart Number Ones 2000 - 2009
I See Girls was another music video in that ilk. Basically just a group of women with huge breasts running around. But there were some really great tracks around back then, 2003-2006 produced some great dance tunes.

Friday Chart Predictions
So how many consecutive tracks do you think Ed will get at the top of the chart before Chainsmokers/Coldplay interrupt his run? 5? 6? 7?

Friday Chart Predictions
I have accepted it, I'm just saying trying to put the two forms of consumption together isn't working. And album tracks arent singles, they are album tracks. If the new norm is now the this week's chart then they need to rebrand and change the name of the chart.

Friday Chart Predictions
The problem is no one has a solution about how to add streaming into the charts. We had 100 streams = 1 download, then at Christmas it changed to 150 streams and now we have the Ed Sheeran issue. This was always going to happen when you add streaming into a chart that has only ever been a chart that each track has been individually paid for. I think it would have been best to have kept the downloads and streaming separate. Have two charts and give them equal billing.

Friday Chart Predictions
There really is no clear option what the OCC can do. The Chart has been a mess for a while now and this week just makes the problems a whole lot clearer to everyone. The addition of streaming points was always going to fail, they should never had included streaming into the official chart.
