I'd definately say Lady Gaga brought in the era of electro/dance pop back in early 2009. Not sure whether Bastille's success is down to a new era or just a one-off yet but it's nice to hear music that doesn't sound like ir;s been produced by David Guetta.

Loving the fact Bastille are doing so well, hopefully this beckons in a new era of non-dance, rnb songs dominating the charts.

How would people say Amelia Lily is doing? I'd say she was slightly under performing as it's going to be a low sales week and she's had a lot of promotion.

Good to see a bit of movement at the top of the chart. Olly Murs and Rihanna both out of the top 20 for the first time since they were released months ago.

I appreciate all that and don't think they are ripping people off but the price is king and buying music elsewhere is more convinient and cheaper. HMV's problems stem back from 2005/2006 when downloads starting to take off and the physical CD was starting to die out, they should have changed their business model but have been left behind the times and I think the damage is done now.

But charting well in the singles chart is not what they after, it's all about boosting the album as much as possible for extra Christmas sales.
