The End Of HMV
I do feel for the people who may lose their jobs and the loss of another high street retailer but HMV just aren't competitive enough. Most CDs are a couple of pounds cheaper at supermarkets or online and the market for older CDs and non-internet savvy customers just isn't big enough.

Retro Christmas Charts 2003
What a fantastic chart, a great battle for the number one and dozens of quality hits. I can't see me saying the same for this year's chart in 9 years time.

I think some people need to calm down and remember it's only a music chart. No one is going to get dropped if they don't get the number one.

Signs aren't looking good for Little Mix. Down to No. 7 already with a single that is from an unreleased album, X Factor performance and is actually fairly good.

Most actors can hold a tune, they went to stage school and did singing classes.

Agreed. I really like Glad You Came and a few other of their singles but it's seems pretty desperate to keep releasing songs because they sound like Glad You Came.

Did "ok.com" kill Alexandra Burke's career?
Her general bad attitude and unlikability was a big contribution.

iTunes Chart: Weekly Thread W/C 22nd April 2012
Its old fashioned to me in the sense its bubblegum pop, the sort that has disappeared in the last few years and been replaced with the Lady Gagaesque electro, dance pop that everyone does nowadays.

As much as its good to see an old fashioned pop song (not electro or dance) at number one in Call Me Maybe. Is anyone else astounded at how well its holding up?

Where Will Pixie Lott - Kiss The Stars Peak
I really like the song but the video is truly awful. Firstly, Pixie is an attractive girl but they have managed to style her like Kitty from X Factor and make her look crap. Secondly, it looks so cheap. Its just her "dancing" in a studio with CGI added on later. It was probabaly knocked up in 30 minutes.

I wouldnt necessarily call it a "hit" but I definately remember this being played on the music channels quite a bit a few years ago.

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (2)
Yeh, Cheryl had a massive number one just a year ago so its not like the fanbase has disappeared yet. If GA release any new material next year, I would be very surprised if it didnt go #1.
