  1. I do like Word Up, quite a lot actually (a lot better than the Little Mix cover) and I can understand why they saw it as a good opportunity with it being included on the Austin Powers soundtrack (even though Beautiful Stranger was the "official movie single) but it was not a good single choice for the follow up to I Want You Back. Not being helped with her re-branding herself as Mel G and the video... It really is a shame as it was an uphill battle from there onwards. Tell Me is a fantastic song but unfortunately couldn't help the album. Mel was always going to have a harder time as some of the other girls, especially in the 90's and early 00's but it definitely wasn't because of her talent or potential.

Good to see her getting a boost, very much deserved as the last 15 years have been so difficult for her. So underrated. Always very curious to see the show but it doesn't seem to be available online everywhere.
  3. Debuts at #29 on British Spotify, that is pretty big for a new Charli song, isn't it?
  4. The challenge was actually good, I think most of them did a good or decent job and not one queen did really bomb. So that was nice to see. The runway, however, was disappointing. Some good looks but most of them chose looks that are not very well remember J.Lo looks. I know she doesn't have the same amount of iconic looks as the likes of GaGa, Madonna or Xtina (except for the obvious one) but they could have definitely picked some more interesting ones than the red carpet ones. The red dress from The Cell or the fur coar from Hustlers spring to mind. And not one video? What about the 'I throw all my clothes away' moment from Love Don't Cost A Thing, that would have been a fun runway moment. Or the Ain't It Funny outfit. The Jenny From the Block beige look is very well known or even the pink All I Have coat. And if they really wanted to go for a red carpet look; the Oscars 2003 or VMA 2000 are so much more iconic.
  5. That's very true. I remember a while back I was talking with a friend about Dannii, he also said he didn't know any of her songs, but as soon as I played I Begin To Wonder he was like 'oh of course I know this song, it used to be on the telly all the time and I love it'. It's such a shame her music isn't better remembered and her streams are SO low.

Vanessa was in the studio with Bimini the other day. Interesting combination!
  7. Exactly what I was thinking! Yes for getting this mark, shame it's not for one of their better ones.
  8. Finally! This should be a good read, although I hope we get some new stories as I feel like I have heard her in so many podcasts over the years that we already know a lot about her background, Spice and solo time. Great title as well. Suits the book and nice to refer back to one of her songs.
  9. The new banner is indeed fantastic! I've always loved that photograph of them.
  10. True! Although I did see The Guardian made a story about it as well, but I was mostly thinking about production. ITV is also making the Dutch show and they are getting heavily accused of knowing about everything and not doing anything to stop it happening.
  11. Is the show still going ahead? There is a HUGE #metoo scandal going on here in The Netherlands, with multiple judges, directors and other people working on the show being accused of sexually expoliting a lot of contestants, including contestants on The Voice Kids. All the shows have been cancelled for now and since it's a Dutch concept, I thought they would maybe do the same thing for other versions.
  12. And another milestone, Love Machine has passed 40 million streams!
  13. I know (although I could say the same about So You Say ) ! Do we have some Jade stans on here?
  14. My Man Hopefully it's not another Mutya song leaving this round!
  15. Welcome to the third round! The second round had a clear result, with nine people voting for Mutya's collaboration with the legend that is George Michael. The song was released as the second single of George Michael's second greatest hits album and also featured on Mutya's own solo album. Results 11. This Is Not Real Love (Mutya) 12. Just A Little Bit (Mutya) For round 3, you can vote off your least favourite song again. Discuss in this topic which one you went for.
  16. Surely that cannot be the official cover. If it is, it has to be one of the worst covers I have ever seen.
  17. The Promise has passed 20 million streams on Spotify! The single version that is, as the album version has another 2,4 million.
  18. Bring it on!! I love Rina so much, so very ready for some new music + the September sample is such a good idea. Always loved Cry For You.
  19. bilpRRLhRr4 The Stop dance routine features in Kyla La Grange's new video! The song is so good, so worth checking out anyway, but the concept of the video is her going through the different stages of her live and as her teenage self she does the full routine, in front of a wall covered in Spice posters. Nicely done.

  21. I saw someone on Twitter posting a picture of the album in their local HMV  Iconic! Maybe it can re-peak??? #351 would sound better than a #453 peak, right.
  22. I know right! I can understand 2.0 because of the hits and the memories, but 3.0? We don't even talk about 4.0.
  23. Until when can we cast our vote?
