I just read it and immediately had to come here, lost for words at the moment. Rip to this beautiful soul who has made such an impact and will always have a place in pop music history  Can't imagine how the other girls must be feeling at the moment.
  3. Thank you! I always find it very interesting when people try to deny these things from happening, when the people themselves have said it time and time again (Misha, Alex etc.). Surely they would know the best, right? Besides the fact it has always been incredibly obvious. You just have to look at the solo careers of the Spice Girls as a small example. Who has had the least success music wise? Melanie B by a long shot and definitely not because she was the one with the least talent or material.
  4. Madonna is obviously the queen of pop, there is no competition. The things she has achieved and risks she has taken in her career says it all, and surely she is not as much as a chart force these days but you don't need that when you have reached a level like hers. There wouldn't be a Britney, GaGa, Christina or Rihanna without her.
  5. Bree, certainly. I love her verse and it suits the song so well.
  6. I used watched some of the clips on Twitter and it looked like a fab set! Especially considering the fact she hasn't done any big performances in a long time, you wouldn't know as she had all the moves and energy we expect. Nice to see her doing the cover of Eveyerbody's Free and as soon as the intro kicks in off Fight.. you are just reminded how much of a modern classic it is  Obviously very excited to see Nicola joining her for a bit as well. Also slighly off topic, but wow, her dancers are hot! Ah that's a shame to hear though! Lovely you get to experience it live though. Was there a big crowd for her?
  7. Have you not heard Alexandra Burke's story last year? Or Misha B's? Or Keisha's? Or even Little Mix' Leigh-Anne. You honestly cannot compare someone like Beverley to a household name like Lily Allen or someone like Billie Piper who herself decided to quiet music. Of course I am not saying Beverley, once again using her as an example but I could name someone else as well, should still be having #1 singles because I know the industry changes every year, but the fact she has never hit the spot like most of those artists you mentioned is just telling. You really don't understand or get this issue if you make statement like this.
  8. I am shocked to see a post like this, on this forum, in 2021. Reversed racism is NOT a thing, it doesn't excist and will never excist. People, rightly so, complaining about Cheryl doing this show is not racism and anyone who even thinks this clearly has not got a clue what racism is. It's not surprising this got so much backlash, besides the point of Cheryl being a white woman, she is also not an R&B artist? I know she loves the genre like many of us do, but she is known as a pop singer so it seems such a strange move. Especially considering there are so many talented R&B singers in the UK who have knowledge about the genre and deserve the spotlight. I see comments in here like "but we have so many black or poc singers in the UK who have been successful', it's true, but how many got a long career? Gabrielle and Beverley Knight are amongst the best vocalists the country has but are they at the same level as their white counterparts? Don't think so. Look at how Alexandra Burke, Jamelia, Alesha Dixon all got treated, one successful era and it was mostly over (and let me not start on the awful media coverage they got). Look at Leona. Look at Laura Mvula. Look at Raye. Look at Melanie B and Keisha. I could go on and on. I adore Cheryl and will always be a fan of her, but this move just doesn't sit right with me.
  9. Interesting enough the same label that released Tia Kofi's EP!

Britney Spears - Lucky Emma Bunton - Maybe Girls Aloud - Can't Speak French Kylie Minogue - Love At First Sight Lady Gaga - Monster Madonna - Like A Prayer
  11. True, and it makes sense as well. I'd listened to the demo once, but rather stick to the original version I know and love and I think most people feel this way.
  12. Definitely Rina's Free Woman.
  13. That Rina teaser sounds so good already, I am anticipating that one to be the big highlight of the album for me.
  14. This is so exciting, tracklist looks great and the cover is absolutely fantastic. If only we would get this on vinyl!
  15. Mine hasn't arrived yet, but it usually takes a bit longer. Had the same with my Sophie Ellis-Bextor vinyl last month.
  16. Rather not, I like her being the lead artist and the songs she has been featured on have never really stood out to say the least.
  17. I've had this on repeat for the fast couple of days, it's go good!
  18. I don't think she would want that, even if she was able to. In the book she says that she doesn't even want to face herself in the mirror because she looks so different and it makes her very uncomfortable. And besides that, she doesn't have to do anything. The news about her and the book got a lot of media attention so the awereness is already there and she already has a fantastic legacy with Girls Aloud. I am very happy for her she was able to do the book, as it seems it helped herself a lot as well, but there is nothing more we should expect at the moment. I finished the book myself yesterday and was sobbing at the end, especially the last few chapters are so hard to go through  She is such a lovely, beautiful soul who has been misunderstood so much in the past and is now going through this horrible thing. I am glad the girls are there to support her, loved reading the Nadine en Cheryl chapters and so good they finally were able to meet up last year (loved they watched Off The Record together!).
  19. Yes Mutya; tell the kids. Justice for Flatline indeed!
  20. Chemistry posted a post in a topic in Lady Gaga's Lady Gaga
I saw the trailer for this in the cinema yesterday; I almost screamed out loud when it appeared  So good to see it on the big screen for the first time.
  21. I know it's very bad, but I didn't vote for them this round :( Such a strong choice of songs and AYN has never been a big favourite of mine.

Britney Spears - Oops!...I Did It Again Calvin Harris - We Found Love (with Rihanna) Dua Lipa - Don't Start Now Girls Aloud - Untouchable Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out of My Head Lady Gaga - Rain on Me (with Ariana Grande) Madonna - Vogue P!nk - Just Like a Pill Rihanna - Only Girl (In the World) Rita Ora - Anywhere Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life United Kingdolls - UK Hun? SUCH a hard round :( I even had to eliminate my 'own' forum from the list.
  23. I'd say both Love Machine and The Promise are amongst their most famous and popular songs amongst casual listeners (besides SOTU).
  24. Definitely the album version, the single version is so disappointing compared to the 6 minutes of heaven that is the album version.
  25. Fantastic!
