  1. I cannot believe Overload may leave this round :(
  2. Indeed, Flatline was released on Friday (during a time when singles were released on a Sunday) and also got a quite messy release situation with the date changing three times.
  3. Chemistry posted a post in a topic in The Music Lounge
13 years! Wow. I remember getting the CD single for my birthday
  4. Wearing the recent Richard Quinn collection, straight off the runway
  5. I said I NEVER streamed Say So. And please don't put words in my mouth again, I am 100% behind Kesha in this whole case and think Luke has done disgusting things and should never be able to score a chart hit or make mainstream music.
  6. About You Now
  7. Welcome to Round 8! :cheer: Round 7 was another busy round with 34 votes. The first time we could only pick one song to eliminate and the results are quite clear. We say goodbye to Ugly which got 12 votes. That means we now enter the top 10 of our ultimate Sugababes songs. Ranking 11. Ugly 12. Caught In A Moment --. Denial 14. Red Dress 15. Shape 16. New Year --. Easy 18. Flatline 19. Change --. About A Girl 21. Follow Me Home 22. Soul Sound 23. Flowers 24. No Can Do 25. Angels With Dirty Faces --. Get Sexy 27. Girls 28. Wear My Kiss 29. Freedom 30. Walk This Way In this round, you have the option to vote off 1 song. Let us know which song you have voted for by replying to the thread!
  8. Just such a shame it will be for About You Now! But at least a million seller is a million seller and I shouldn't complain too much about that.
  9. Ah, we indeed need to start posting a bit more again :cheer:
  10. Thanks for sharing your story; was so good to read indeed! Lovely to got to experience different versions of the group. The Scala gig sounds like such a special moment
  11. I've listened to this a few times now and still don't really know what to think. It's certainly not as good as RFC or SOS, at the same time, this sound like the most remix-y kind of song out of all the three. So it does it's job in that sense, just not a version I would want to go back to a lot of times.
  12. That would indeed be good, as it makes no sense for Universal to not make them available (again). Like you said, I could understand the move around the time of Ten to put the focus on that greatest hits, but now it doesn't make any sense. Hm, the playlisting is a good point. Quite surprising to not see at least SOTU or Jump getting some playlist exposure as both songs were hits in mainland Europe as well and are quite remembered by the general public. It's quite interesting to look at the streaming numbers of both All Saints and Atomic Kitten compared to Girls Aloud. The song you mentioned, with support, have massive streams but their other songs barely make it onto 5 million streams. Whereas Girls Aloud don't have any big numbers, but have seven songs over the 10 million mark.
  13. Absolutely! I do like LM and most of their songs a lot, but music wise (for me) they don't come anywhere near SG, GA, Sugababes. However, performance wise they are MILES ahead of all the afore mentioned groups. Vocal wise I'd argue they are on the same level as Sugababes 1.0 (with a slight preference for Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan's harmonies).
  14. I can't speak for anyone else but I have always been critical about the Doja x Luke situation, even on this forum. And I never stream Say So, for example, even though I do like the song. Besides thinking DWUW is indeed the weakest link out of these six songs (even without the R. Kelly connection), I don't think it's fair to say 'you need to separate the artist from the work', why should we support artists who have done bad things? I would also never watch a Woody Allen movie anymore for those very same reasons.
  15. Hm, I am not too sure. It's not uncommon for a re-release to happen a year after the regular release; Jessie Ware's album came out in June 2020 and the deluxe edition in May 2021 and while the Disco era obviously started with Say Something, the album wasn't released until November. So there is definitely some time left! I think the bigger 'problem' is that we haven't really hard anything since Real Groove, which didn't even get a proper release with a music video. Dancefloor Darling kind of happened, at the same time didn't really happen and it has been extremely quiet ever since.
  16. A quote from this article in The Guardian. I haven't seen Rina mentioning every to be honest, so not sure how true this is.
  17. Work Bitch Get those Team Con songs out!
  18. I think us fans should, once again, realise that they don't owe us ANYTHING. They are their own people who makes their own choices and decisions and yes, we can be disappointment if they don't tour anymore (myself included) but in the end it's up to them. They have had a fantastic career, achieved more than any of them could dream of and have a place in pop history which not a lot of acts can say. So all this talk about "they need to commit, they should do this, they shouldn't do that" is frankly speaking quite strange.
  19. Yes :cheer: That was quite unexpected all of a sudden, but very exciting news!! Got my second vaccin yesterday, my birthday coming up on Friday so a new Steps song is the perfect way to make the week even better. Adore the single cover as well.
  20. Great statement and very glad to see she immediately did this  Her working with him always felt like a label decision to 'score another hit', instead of Dua herself really wanting to do this for creative purposes.
  21. E.T. Shocked this is still in and even more shocked I'm the first one to vote for it. Easily one of my least favourite Katy singles.
  22. I have a feeling they maybe wanted to do the re-release alongside a tour announcement, but since that seems almost impossible at the moment they decided to push the album back as well? Maybe just a wild thought but could make sense why we haven't heard anything in months now.
  23. Telephone Poker Face Judas Rain On Me Million Reasons Do What U Want SUCH a strong list though. Not the biggest fan of DWUW (for obvious reasons), but the other five songs are pure gold.
  24. #14 is a fantastic debut, especially after Motivation's peak! Well done Normani.
