2025 singles year to date estimates
No I agree with you. I think that has to be it. Seems like the only logical conclusion to me. Actually somewhat impressed that the OCC has that set up. Also relevant in the point from last month on the streaming thread regarding the re-recorded version of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and whether it was combined.

2025 singles year to date estimates
So as I was confused about at the end of last year, Move's position on the Independent Singles chart is not accurate of its actual sales. It is below Dirty Cash on the Independent chart this week but comfortably above it here. I wonder why that is. I assume its something to do with remixes, is the Camila Cabello version on a different (non-independent) record label for example?

A bunch more white noise tracks are now showing up on Apple (at least on Kworb). They really should be excluded from the chart

UK Spotify 2024 Year End Chart
Yes, I was wondering if Mr. Brightside would be under threat in its role as top oldie in 2025 from either Riptide or Iris as they both ended the year strong but fortunes seem to have been reversed post Christmas. Although it only stood still in terms of position, Jingle Bell Rock did gain around 2 million in total streams compared to last year. Extra little fun fact is that Dancing in the Moonlight has now been #103 in three of the past four years - Its run this decade has been #111 - #103 - #103 - #108 - #103. Maybe it can make the top 100 next year.

UK Spotify 2024 Year End Chart
Yes I left it off on purpose, it only charted for one week and wouldn't have changed the song's overall position so in order to make the chart look neater I didn't include it. My policy with second versions is to only include them if they change a song's overall position or had more than 5 million total streams. See You Again didn't enter the chart til April 2023 whereas, for 2024 it was doing solid streams for the whole year and only dropped out for one week.

UK Spotify 2024 Year End Chart
I agree - For some reason both Oasis songs did really poorly this year. Wonderwall only made the official year end cos of the tour announcement despite making it comfortably with no boost in previous years, and #88 was it's worst position on the Spotify chart since 2019. Don't Look Back in Anger hadn't charted for a single week on Spotify before the tour announcement (despite usually being a mainstay in the chart) and then the boost from that fizzled out very quickly. Why they had this drop in popularity, I can't explain however.

UK Spotify 2024 Year End Chart
As per usual, I have created a year end chart for UK Spotify in 2024 and now have the final table. Usual caveats that songs that are big at the start of the year but then drop out of the weekly top 200 lose out as I can not accurately track their numbers outside of this chart (e.g. Lovin On Me and TEXAS HOLD 'EM). 2024 overall was a massive year for Spotify streams with a record six songs passing 100 million streams for the year (the previous record was two in 2017, when combining remixes of Despacito). Stick Season was the #1 song of the year on Spotify with 141,630,319 streams, the second most of all-time, only behind a combined 149,017,324 from Shape of You in 2017 (but ahead of the 133,529,740 accumulated by the solo version). Stick Season and Lose Control also became the second and third songs to pass a million streams in every full week of the calendar year (after Blinding Lights in 2020). With the exception of the #1 position, every single position sees its highest ever total since record began in 2017. Houdini by Eminem (#34 this year) accumulated more streams than the #10 song in 2022. The Spotify top 10 (and #11) is the same as the OCC list but just in a different order with Espresso jumping up to #2 and A Bar Song (Tipsy) (#8) losing out to BIRDS OF A FEATHER (#6) and Good Luck, Babe! (#7). Too Sweet (#4) also switches positions with Lose Control (#5) compared to the OCC list. The Spotify chart was the most aligned with the OCC chart since 2018 with only three songs missing the top 200 which made the OCC Year End which were Escapism., Summer of '69 for the second year in a row and The Sound of Silence which didn't spend a single day in the Spotify chart due to its streams being split over two versions. There was one extra #1 on Spotify which didn't get there officially, with BIRDS OF A FEATHER spending one week at the top. However, TEXAS HOLD 'EM missed out completely on Spotify despite spending five weeks at number 1 officially. Stick Season was the big beneficiary of this spending the first 11 full weeks of the year (plus a half week) at the top. Sabrina Carpenter dominated the charts this year spending 22 weeks at the top with Espresso (11), Taste (9) and Please Please Please (2) with Please Please Please also having the biggest weekly streaming peak of a non-Christmas song with 7,083,111 streams. Sarbrina Carpenter is also the most prevalent artist in the top 200 with eight songs, including five in the top 100 (which would have been six if Nonsense was combined with A Nonsense Christmas as it is on Billboard). All six of Billie Eilish's songs in the top 200 made the top 100, making her the most prevalent artist there. The only other artist with more than three songs in the top 100 was Chappell Roan with four. Compared to the OCC chart, the biggest overperformer is unsurprisingly Evergreen (#35) which is 53 spots higher than its OCC position. Disconnect (#186) by Becky Hill and Chase & Status is the biggest underperformer of songs which made the top 200, 103 places below its OCC position. After two straight years of Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High (#78 this year) and No Role Modelz (#131) being the highest ranked songs to miss the OCC list, this year Pink + White by Frank Ocean takes the crown at #47 despite still not having charted for a single week officially. The highest ranked 2024 hit to miss the OCC list is That's So True at #59 with other 2024 hits in the top 100 that missed the OCC list being My Love Mine All Mine (#66), FE!N (#76), CHIHIRO (#80), NIGHTS LIKE THIS (#81), Pink Pony Club (#82), KEHLANI (#86), Bed Chem (#87) and Red Wine Supernova (#94). This is a large number compared to usual which comes as a result of older songs that would usually take this spot not performing as well this year. Eighteen songs (including the White Noise track, which I have not placed on the list, but it would have been #60) spent the whole year in the top 200, with Stick Season and Lose Control spending the whole year in the top 100. Mr. Brightside continues its ever present top 200 run since the chart began in 2017, but does drop out of the weekly top 100 for the first time since 2020. Someone You Loved dropped out of the weekly chart top 200 for the first time since 2018 this year. There were eight re-entries to the list this year with the highest being All the Stars (#71) by Kendrick Lamar and SZA which spent every single week but Christmas week in the top 200. Other re-entries include What You Know (#108) for the first time since 2017 and September (#164) for the first time since 2018. The most peculiar re-entry however is July by Noah Cyrus at #183 which previously charted in 2020. As mentioned, older songs didn't do as well with only 60 (non-Christmas) songs making the list this year compared to 67 last year, Mr. Brightside was the highest at #18 with the highest new entries being Valerie (#63) and Linger (#67). Christmas songs also had a poor year this year, Last Christmas was the highest at #77 with only 10 making the list in total, the lowest since 2019. It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas and Do They Know It's Christmas? also failed to make the top 200 for the first time since 2019. Other notable drop outs include Don't Look Back in Anger for the first time ever, leaving only four songs that have made the list in every single year. The Chain for the first time since 2019 and She Moves in Her Own Way (#201) for the first time since 2020. Location by Dave and Burna Boy also leaves the chart for the first time since it was released along with Shivers by Ed Sheeran, making it the first one of these lists to not have a Sheeran song in. Full list below, table is on the first sheet with stats on the second, feel free to ask any questions :) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rKd...dit?gid=0#gid=0

I think Wham! will be much higher than that tbh. They were #81 last year when the chart week started on the 29th. Starting on the 27th I think they will make top 50.

A total of 184 Songs made the YTD list at some point this year, with 40 entering in the first week and not leaving at any point, including Naive and Dial Drunk which didn't spend one week in the singles chart all year. Valerie and Wonderwall dropped out twice before entering for a third time. Full list of every entry here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/136D...dit?gid=0#gid=0

No. The only stuff eligible for a reset this week is stuff that went to ACR in December (plus exceptional circumstances like Murder on the Dancefloor last year). None of Sabrina’s stuff falls into either of those categories so it shouldn’t be getting reset as far as I’m aware.
