  1. I mean possibly but unlikely imo. That would’ve required some genuine hype around this Aitch release which clearly doesn’t exist. The not showing up on any other platform is a big sign of autoplay imo. Other genuinely popular oldies (Sex on Fire, Iris, Naive, all the Fleetwood Mac stuff for example) have a fairly constant presence on Apple too. It only showing up on Spotify suggests to me it’s getting extra promotion there. On the other side of the coin, I can only assume Oasis have much better promotion on Apple as Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger are still top 60 there whereas they’re barely top 200 on Spotify. [EDIT: in relation to Lewis’ post about Gorillaz, forgot to quote it and someone replied in between]
  2. Oh no I agree, I have no complaints about the song choices, Can’t Stop by RHCP is another potential example of this. All these songs are probably fairly popular anyway, but I do think their numbers are being inflated at certain times. The way Brown Eyed Girl completely bombed out after being comfortably around the top 75 for months and months makes no sense imo.
  3. I have suspicions regarding autoplay on Gorillaz. Was another one of those songs that showed up very high for a few weeks last year before dropping out completely and then suddenly reappearing a few months later and rinse and repeat. We'll see how long it hangs around this year. Could be this year's equivalent of Brown Eyed Girl if Every Breath You Take hasn't already taken that role.
  4. Rough Estimates of songs that have gone to DCL-2: Diet Pepsi This is What You Came For Sympathy is a knife Close to You on one tonight Thick of It It's ok I'm ok 2 hands Also Indestructible but it dropped out anyway. Some of those are basically flat week on week so it's difficult to say for certain, with the exception of NIGHTS LIKE THIS which is also close, everything not on the above list which was on DCL-1 last week is definitely back to zero weeks of decline.
  5. New Central Cee already #35 on Apple (Band4Band is also back at #135) Looking to be a decent sized hit? Although I think he usually does better on Apple?
  6. Yep and Not Like Us too actually - forgot to think about the new entries.
  7. Some belated stats regarding this week's entries. Out of the 10 entries, 6 of them have made a year end list before: Florence + the Machine - Dog Days are Over [2010: #93, 2023: #70, 2024: #99] Sam Fender - Seventeen Going Under [2022: #10, 2023: #63] Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way [2023: #91] Florence + the Machine - You've Got the Love [2009: #95, 2010: #59] Kendrick Lamar - Not Like Us [2024: #43] Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars [2006: #14, 2007: #34, 2008: #95] The six tracks that were in the YTD last week but not the audio streaming chart, their positions this week are: #68 Coldplay - A Sky Full of Stars #90 The Kooks - Naive #92 Red Wine Supernova #97 Tate McRae - It's ok I'm ok #xx Toploader - Dancing in the Moonlight #xx Coldplay - feelslikeimfallinginlove (Left YTD) Dancing in the Moonlight is now the only song in the YTD to not have charted on audio streaming yet this year. Ransom (#65 this week) and 505 (#79) have charted for both weeks on audio streaming but aren't in the YTD. Go Your Own Way dropped out of the audio streaming chart this week, but entered the YTD. Next week I'd anticipate entries from Wake Me Up, I Always Wanted a Brother and Denial is a River.
  8. Seems strange (and annoying) that Somedays has had such a massive jump to a peak today. Did it move up Hot Hits or something?
  9. In fairness - if you include top 200 year end’s it would be the 6th for Dog Days are Over. On the 2024 YE it says “5 weeks on” which is a statistic calibrated to the top 200, so making the 2025 one would be its 6th top 200 appearance
  10. Wow, Chasing Cars is a surprise. Did no see that one coming at all. We do not need Dog Days are Over for a third year in a row, but You've Got the Love would be a fun addition in terms of oldies
  11. Wow at Bad Bunny. Guess Die with a Smile will miss out on the record days at #1 globally. Nice to see How to Save a Life show up too.
  12. Weeknd’s album is postponed til 31st
  13. I guess it depends how it’s registered with the OCC. As far as I can tell the only version that exists is the live version, so I can only assume it will show up as that when it charts. We’ll probably have to wait til Friday as there’s no way it makes the mids
  14. Apple: #85 Hozier - Do I Wanna Know? (Live at the BBC) Should get a reset this week if the OCC are paying attention
  15. Make one - it costs no money. Alternatively (but it can bevery slow to update): https://kworb.net/spotify/country/gb_daily.html

  18. That seems like a weird entry for the Hozier cover. Actually above the original too (#142).

Both the extra singles on Direct Hits are underrated imo. Prefer Just Another Girl personally.
  20. Dog Days are Over will re enter this week too I think.

    Yay at the Killers
  22. If the new Teddy Swims song does well, it could star out Lose Control which would make it surviving Christmas week pointless in terms of breaking consecutive chart weeks records
  23. Is there any practical difference between a promo single and an actual single in the streaming era though
  24. Cruel Summer was not above a million last year. Blinding Lights didn’t manage it either Someone You Loved (2019 & 2020) and Perfect (2017 & 2018) are the two other examples I can think of as well as Bad Habits Edit: Dance Monkey also did it in 2019 & 2020
  25. No worries. It took me a very long time to find a full YE for 1979. I was pretty sure Don’t Stop Me Now would be on it from its original chart run but Wikipedia didn’t have a 1979 position for it.
