Another Love has a slightly poorer week this week, I wonder if we could be surprised by something like Dakota showing up, I predicted a future appearance for it back in March and it seems to have gained momentum in the last couple of weeks. I have no idea what its actual sales or premium ratio are tho - it does chart on both Apple and Spotify so would guess a decent ratio.

Spotify YTD at the Half Way Point Ordinary now at #1 and unlikely to be toppled I'd imagine, older songs starting to make their way up the chart as hits from the start of the year fall back. Anxiety is a big loser on Spotify compared to the OCC list sitting at only #56 here. Like Him has now dropped out the weekly Spotify chart so See You Again is now the highest song not on the OCC list at #63 (closely followed by 505 at #64). As always, any questions please ask.

2025 BPI Certifications
From Haven Forum: New retro certifications: The Human League - Don't You Want Me (3x Platinum) 879,596 1980s Gallup units + 1,800,000 post February 1994 units = 2,679,596 total chart units or if we go by the OCC: 1.15 million units in 1981 + 230,357 1982 units + 1,800,000 post February 1994 units = 3,180,357 total chart units. So which number is right?

Yep Another Love has been doing well recently so agree that’s probably ahead of 505 in terms of most likely re-entires. I was also significantly overestimating Shake It to the Max

RATE: Buzzjack's Ultimate Platinum Non-Top 40 Single: Round 1
Feeling bad about not voting now I’ve seen which songs were close which I’d definitely have given points to. Will make sure to vote next round

Missed this on Friday, but Pink + White by Frank Ocean dropped out of the weekly Spotify chart last week for the first time in 120 weeks

Fortunate Son scoring that few points is a big surprise to me

Understood, fair enough. Guess the Goo Goo Dolls are the opposite situation, include a “The” on streaming services but didn’t on the original albums/singles covers

This is extremely pedantic but technically it’s just “Black Eyed Peas” without a “The” Shame that they and Coldplay manages resets but Radiohead didn’t.

New Ed sounds a little bit like “BLOW” from No.6 Collaborations in the verses

But a playlist still gives you the ability to skip songs etc which you can’t do on the radio, so there is an element of choice there

Yes exactly, Despacito is the only example of a regular hit that hit ACR and stayed at #1, although I think Bad Habits was close. There may be other examples of stuff that got close too which I can’t remember, so I’m sure someone will add to that list

Shame it's not 'Tonight' doing that

Every song that has gone platinum despite never reaching the UK Top 40- FULL LIST
Changing the threshold would make sense but the threshold itself is somewhat irrelevant as it is the same for every song. What’s actually important is the pure number in relation to other hits of the era. If you were to compare it to some big hits at the time I’m sure it’s done more sales which you can’t just ignore cos it didn’t chart at the time. If you want to see which songs were the biggest at the time, just look at the year end.

Comparing Lose Control to any of those songs should result in a forum ban imo Although I might be biased as I would rank The Chain as the best song of all time.

2025 BPI Certifications
I have no idea, I’ve not been following this thread and the weekly certifications for as long as some others, but it’s usually very prompt to update on Friday. Only time it hasn’t is on Easter Friday (or Christmas/NY falling on a Friday), so I can’t shed any light on it, especially when they posted certifications on Twitter. Someone who’s more familiar with the process may have more ideas tho.

Ah, right that makes sense - forgot that it would've accumulated a decent number of sales before the remix was released
